Chương 41: Spirit of the Cube
Few days had passed since the the entrance exam. Every organization and clans were frantically searching for Lucas and Luna. But both of them had disappeared.
Amden in his room was sitting with a horrified expression. He was gazing infront of him and was having myriad of expressions on his face.
The black cube was floating in air infront of him emitting a faint blue light. Amidst the blue light stood a middle aged lady. The lady had long black hair with light blue eyes. Her beauty was out of the world. Amden never in his life has seen such a beautiful woman.
Amden was in his room trying to experiment with the cube when this whole scenario happened.
The lady was also gazing at Amden with amusement on her face.
Amden at last Stuttered, "Who are you?"
The lady laughed in response. Her laughter was like a shining pearl and her otherworldly beauty further increased a notch.
She the spoke, "What do you think?"
Amden facee turned stoic. Although he did not detected any malicious intent from the lady, he was wary. So far from the beginning the cube had only confused him. He didn't had any answers regarding the existence and his connection with the cube.
Seeing Amden's expression she finally spoke, "You can call me Voila."
Pointing towards the cube she continued, "I am the Spirit of this... umm.... cube."
Amden became more confused, "What do you mean? And if you are the spirit where were you till now? Explain to me clearly."
Although no such artifacts with spirits existed in this planet, Amden from the few memories of the ancient god knew about them. Even among the wider universe and for people at the top such artifacts having a spirit were rarest of treasures.
Voila chuckled, "Don't worry. First of all I mean no harm. I have seen you for two lives now."
Before she could continue further Amden shouted, "Two lives? How do you know about that? I only got this cube in this life."
Voila raised her eyebrows at first then spoke, "I see. You are wrong. You received the cube in your previous lifetime. The baby you saw in the memories whose body the puny ancient god tried to occupy was your previous life."
Amden was bewildered at this information. He didn't spoke for many minutes. He then calmed his breathing and finally settled down.
He spoke, "Since you are the spirit tell me about this cube. Why did it chose me? And what does it even do?"
At this Voila replied, "About this I am not very clear. You know my memories are hazy and don't have much idea now. But as you get stronger we will find out don't worry."
Hearing this Amden failed to react. After moments he shouted, "What don't worry? I have no idea what this cube wants and why is all this happening to me. Now today you suddenly appeared infront of me and being the Spirit also you don't know anything."
Voila calmly replied, "Amden there are few reasons to all this. Even I am not actually aware of all the things for now."
She continued, "I was in dormant state till now for years. I only woke up in your previous life and was unable to manifest myself because of lack of mana."
Her gaze then turned resolute, "One thing I assure you of is the the cube means no harm to you in anyway. Slowly I will recover my memories and powers and you will get your answers."
Hearing all this Amden was finally able to calm himself down.
