Zion was quite content with the way he was currently living. The only thing that was bothering him... was he was levelling up too slowly!
In his location, while it was safe from any giant beasts and kept his burrow safe, it also meant that he didn't have any strong foes to help level up.
He sighed as he looked out of the entrance of his burrow. His tail flicked behind him in boredom. He stood up, 'That's it! I'm heading further into the forest!' He started walking towards the inner circle of the forest.
-----------
Zion had studied this forest in the ten days of his being here. The forest had three zones: the inner, middle and outer layers. The outer layer, where he was, had a lot of low-ranking beasts, namely E and D ranks primarily.
The middle layer, he accidentally crossed into its boundary and ended up running for his life when a C-ranked wolf pack attacked him. He barely escaped from them.
Because of this, he hadn't dared to go near the middle zone, so he only speculated that the inner zone of the forest was probably even more dangerous. Maybe even housing B-rank beasts.
Although he's only level 3, he's barely getting any EXP since he only finds small ones. He has gained only 50 EXP since he hunted that lizard three days ago.
He sorted through some things in his head as he walked, 'Going from the ranks I have currently seen... the ranking is likely similar to those novels I used to read online. Usually, the rankings are something like F or E being the weakest and SS or SSS being the highest. Depending on the story, it changes.'
His ears twitched as he kept alert even while walking and thinking. He soon passed through the boundary of the outer and middle circles, and he immediately started walking on his toes, something he seemed to do instinctively when in a dangerous area.
He lowered his body to hide himself but stayed alert. He walked only 10 minutes from the boundary and immediately stopped as he heard something ahead of him.
He moved slowly and peeked above the grass at what it was, causing his lilac eyes to widen in surprise, 'Woah... what is that? Analyse.'
[[Species: Stone Tusk Boar.
Rank: D
Magic Affinity: Earth.
HP: 80/80
STR: 15
AGI: 10
DEF: 12
Weakness: Although its hide is tough, its eyes and belly are soft.]]
Zion was staring at a boar the size of a toddler's bike; however, it probably weighed as much as a wardrobe. It was fat, and its skin was a brown colour; it had large grey tusks coming off its face that had a very stoney texture, and from its name, he bet they probably were stone.
Its eyes were the size of golf balls, and its hooves were black. Its belly looked like it was a pale brown colour. It had its head down and was munching on some berries from a nearby bush.
'An earth affinity... it's my first encounter with a beast with an affinity... it also has high DEF and STR, although its HP is low. Its AGI is mediocre, but considering its size, I'm not surprised.'
He continued to watch the boar as it moved only when it needed to get more berries from a different spot.
'I don't know its attacks... but I do know mine. Eyes and belly... I have an idea.' He waited in silence until the boar turned its back to him, and then he quickly pushed off his back legs, pouncing onto the back of the boar.
It squealed in surprise and raised its head. In doing so, however, it moved its eyes into the perfect range of his claws. He quickly slashed his claws across the boar's face but only managed to damage its left eye.
He felt his claws sink slightly into the eye and burst it, causing the boar to squeal loudly in pain and start thrashing around.
It ran into a tree and slammed into it with a loud bang, causing Zion to get thrown off it, and with a yelp, he hit the very tree it slammed into.
The boar moved away from him, and the tree then turned to face him, snorting angrily and pawing at the ground with its head lowered.
Zion growled in pain as he stood up and then looked at the HP of himself and the boar.
[[Zion: 118/125]]
[[Stone Tusk Boar: 55/80]]
'Good. Due to hitting its eye and the effect of pounce, I did 25 damage in one hit.' He stared at the boar, watching it closely in case it charged.
He didn't have to wait long as the boar let out a squeal and then charged at him, tusks aimed straight at him.
He waited until it was closer, then dodged to the side, causing the boar to slam into the trees. While it was dazed from the slam, he rushed under its belly. Thankfully because of his small size, it was easy for him to duck under and claw at its belly.
The boar let out another squeal of pain, and suddenly, a rock the size of a human fist formed out of nowhere and slammed into Zion, causing him to yelp in pain and get thrown out from under the boar.
[[Zion: 100/125]]
[[Stone Tusk Boar: 47/80]]
'Ow... shit. I think that just cracked a rib.' He whimpered as he slowly stood up. Seeing his health, he was surprised, 'Damn, that attack did 18? If it did crack a rib, then that makes a little sense. Plus, it's a magic attack, and I have no magic defence.' He looked at the boar, who had once again turned to face him.
His eyes glared at the boar, 'For doing that... I'm going to kill you!'
