MONDAY
Ruby came downstairs and met Janet all dressed for work
"You can't wear this to work" Janet said
She's wearing her only good trousers and black singlet with a faded blue jacket and her heels that are already out of shape then a worn out bag
"It's what I have" she replied slowly
Janet opened the door to her apartment again and she went in with her. She offered her a decent outfit to wear including a shoe with a bag
"Put this on and after work, we can go get you some wears together" she said
Ruby hugged her
“Thanks girlfriend”
She finished dressing up and Janet smiled
"I wish I have tiny curves like you"
"Don't be naughty" Ruby replied as they went out together.
They boarded the bus at the bus station.
"I can't believe I'm entering this place" Ruby said when they finally got into the elevator at the company.
“Well that's how surprises sound like" Janet replied
The elevator opened and they came out of it
Janet led Ruby to Richard's office but has not yet arrived
"So, this was his previous secretary's office, I'm certain you'll occupy it, wait till he arrives and never forget everything i told you please"
“I’ll be good, thanks Janet" she replied
She waved before leaving.
Ruby inhaled hard before taking her seat
She cleaned the table first and set it, creating a space for her bag
There's a laptop on the table
She's about to open it when she heard footsteps approaching
She quickly stood
And she beheld him, the rude CEO himself, coming as proudly as ever
"Good morning sir" she greeted.
“Are you the new secretary?"
“Yes sir
"Good, follow me, you have a lot to do" he replied
" She followed him behind to his office
He pointed at the files on the table
"Access them and select the eligible ideas we can give a trial, give me feedback before twelve" he said
" Sure sir" she replied and took them
" And...
"Yes sir...
“Before you'll start work, go to my private coffee brewer just beside your office, brew me a warm coffee" he said
“Alright sir"
"And...
"Yes sir" she replied, looking back
"Ensure you arrive to work before 8am every morning, I detest tardiness as it will attract a penalty from me, and then, I hate sluggishness and clumsiness"
"Clear sir" she replied before going out
She dropped the files on her table and rushed to the brewer
Janet has informed her he hates things taking too long
She brewed the coffee and quickly went back to his office; he was busy on his laptop
She kept the coffee on the table quietly and went out
Part of what Janet taught her
She got to her table and went through the files as he had requested
She picked the ones that'll attract more clients to their goods according to her own view
"Lord, help me" she prayed before standing up
It’s some minutes before twelve now
She went into his office again
"Yes?" He said
"I'm done with the selection" she said, dropping the selected ones before him
She held her breath as he went through the files
He unexpectedly looked up
She held her breath
"Nice job" he said although he wasn't beaming, but his expression revealed it
"Thanks sir" she said, releasing her breath
"I would have accessed them myself but I gave it to you as a test, you choose the ones I'd have chosen if I'm the one. This is a great job you've done"
She kept mute but ensured she was smiling
“What’s your name?" He asked
"Am Ruby Ejiofor"
Almost straight away, someone came in
The way he appears and moves, is sufficient proof that he's Albert Crown, the younger brother and deputy CEO also known as the sex god.
He couldn't take his eyes off her
"You may leave Ruby, Janet will come give you some files soon, go through them and return it back to me"
" Yes sir* she answered and left
Albert watched her tiny curves as she walked out

Richard looked up from his laptop
"Don't try anything funny because the outcome won't be nice" he warned seriously..
What do you mean by that?" Albert asked, astonished at his seriousness
“Are you cursed?, Must you always go after everything in skirt?" Richard questioned.
“that’s not an appropriate way to talk to your brother" Albert responded
"Only if the brother behaves like a real one and not an irresponsible person"
“Now why are you being serious because of your secretary? " Albert said
" She is my secretary, and like I instructed, don't mess with her I mean it" Richard said
Albert grinned as he stood
" Then let's see if she will be able to resist me, I'm not only a sex god, I'm also the king of seduction" he said and winked before leaving his office.
Richard inhaled hard before concentrating back on his laptop.
Richard's office door opened and Ruby spranged up, thinking it's was her boss but it happened to be Albert
She sat and kept her head down.
Albert stood in front of her desk
"Hey"
She slightly looked up
"You're not just sexy. You are also beautiful and nice. Therefore, hence my name remains Albert Crown, I'll fuck your tight pussy"
“What does he mean by that?"
Janet came with the files Richard talked about earlier
"Ruby, how many times has he shouted at you? " Janet asked the moment she got to her desk
"Shout at me?, He hasn't, and he even praised me saying I did a good job in the files selection" she replied
" Wow Lucky you, you got in his good book on your first day, But Why aren't you using the laptop? " Janet asked
“Must I make use of it?"
" Of course it's the most important thing, his schedules will be forwarded to it and you'll have to print it out and take it around so you'll remind him of everything And then you can browse ideas from the laptop and make good use of it, then his presentations, you'll have to know everything about it. He's full of surprises, you can't get yelled at" Janet explained.
“Thanks best, I'll do that right away" she replied.
"And while doing all that, be careful, he detests mistakes, I guess he won't tell you that, he'll be waiting for when you'll make an error so he will penalize you"
“I’ll be cautious, thanks you Janet" she embraced her and Janet kept the files
“Give them to him" she said.
"No, I'll have to access them first and select before giving him the selected ones" she replied
" Wait.. you mean... You accessed files for him in the morning?"
"Yes, that's why i told you he said I did a good job, I think he's impressed, that's why he told me to access and pick the best ideas from these too before presenting it"
" You are very fortunate my friend. He has never permitted anybody to carry out such a task. That's ok, Albert may walk in here screaming my name" she said and immediately left.
Ruby smiled charmingly before looking at her phone again.
"Why has Kelvin not called?" She wondered...
She recalled she has things to do.
She quickly printed out his schedules and also took a look at the presentation he's having tomorrow.
He hasn't dropped any note about it yet.
She stood and went inside his office to submit the selected files
He was relaxing on the chair sleeping, he looked cute!
"Perhaps, he's so charming"
He opened his eyes gradually
" Yes ?"
" The files" she said and dropped them
He adjusted his tie and checked them out.
"Have you worked somewhere as the secretary of a big company before?"
" Not at all this is the first, Ruby replied"
"So how come you work like an expert? You selected the appropriate files that I would have selected”
" I read economics and I'm good to an extent" Ruby answered
" I have a presentation in the morning, and am certain you must have seen it on your system, send me a memo to remind me of it this night" he said.
“Can I have your number sir?"
" Check the laptop, it's on the list of necessities" he replied, shutting his eyes.
" Alright" she replied and left the office
She got to her office and sat, she later smiled.
"I'm good to go!"
Janet and Ruby left the office together after a tiring day
"What should we eat this evening?"
"Spaghetti and chicken"
"Alright, I am happy you were successful on your first day at work, see you're not jinxed, it's just a matter of time"
Ruby kept quiet, staring at her phone.
" What?"
"It's Kelvin, I miss him, he hasn't called and his line is off too" she replied sullenly
" Are you dumb?, How can you still worry about a guy you call your boyfriend but he doesn't know how you eat, how you sleep or cope!, Ruby wake up!, The guy is a...." Janet stopped
" Janet" Ruby said slowly
" Sorry I was just angry but, he looks like a cheat"
" No Janet, he loves me a lot, he can't possibly cheat on me you know, maybe he's just busy" she defended him again.
“look I'm tired of it, sorry to say but let's talk about some other things oh!, we were meant to get you some outfits, let's halt by a boutique" Janet said as they boarded a cab.
Ruby took the stress as nothing, she walked all the way to Kelvin's house and inhaled hard when she finally got there.
She knocked on the door
The door opened, revealing Kelvin, he's shirtless and his trousers are lacking belt, making it a bit sagged.
He looks out of breath too, like he's doing something inside.
And the look on his face shows he's not happy to see her.
"Kelvin it's unfair, you won't call and you won't pick my calls if I call, then today your phone was off throughout, you aren't like this before" she complained.
" And I told you it's because I'm fucking busy!, You don't expect me to always be available!" He shouted.
She rushed and embraced him tight
"Quit shouting Kelvin, if I've offended you, we can sort it out unanimously".
He broke the hug and kissed her lightly on the lips
"I love you Ruby, but you need to realize your fiancée, has been exhausted lately"
*Have you gotten a job?"
"Yes, I got employed as a marketer, and it's really tiring"
“Well, I also got employed at Peak Empire as a secretary"
“Great you know what?, I'll come see you tomorrow*
"Kelvin, are u certain?"
"Am very certain. Take care he said hastily and went in.
Ruby smiled widely before walking home.
She got home and thought about Richard's presentation tomorrow.
"Let's see if I can come up with anything about the topic" she thought.
She grabbed a pen and a plain sheet of paper.
She found herself writing endlessly about that particular topic for over an hour.
She finished writing and read it to herself.
"I'm still as good as I can remember" she smiled
Her eyes broadened
"Oh!, He told me to send him a memo!"
She carried her phone and quickly texted him the memo.
Albert puffed on his cigarette with immense pleasure, thinking about Ruby. The slim waist he has always wanted to bang.

No appetite at all
"This persisting headache" he groaned painfully because no amount of drug or medication that he took prevented it.

The migraine only reminds him of when his dad died of stroke, he was having a strong headache that day when his father passed out of stroke on a wheelchair.
Tears came out of his eyes
He carried his phone and struggled to call Val who responded after several rings
"Hello Darling!"
"Val, can you come over now?, Please?' he said weakly
"Why?, I'm out with my friends having fun"
" My head aches so badly and it's so unendurable
" Darling, inform the maids to give you pain relievers. I'll see you at the office tomorrow, bye!"
She hung up instantly.
The phone fell on the bed and tears came out of his eyes and his temperature became so high. A message popped into his phone but he didn't even have the strength to check till the pains made him sleep off at midnight.
Next morning**
He woke up feeling better; the migraine is gone thanks to the sleep that took it away
He entered the bathroom and had a cool bath.
He dressed up for work, looking as handsome as ever.
He grabbed his car key and went out of the house, driving to work
His eyes suddenly widened, almost making it pop out of their sockets
"The presentation!"
He drove faster and got to work in a matter of few minutes..
He came in with his body guards who were already waiting for him
They trailed behind him
"The presentation was scheduled for ten, and it was already past eight, damn!" He thought
He went straight to Albert's office
The idiot is smoking early that morning.
"You're definitely one hell!, Of a guy!" He said
" I don't care, hell is made for humans anyways" Albert replied
" Bro please, can you take over the presentation?, I am not ready"
Albert laughed
“You sound as if I'm ready too when you know am terrible at presentations. You better go memorize before the difficult to appease board members arrive" Albert mocked.
"To hell with you Albert" Richard spat, exiting Albert's office in anger
He stormed angrily to his office
"Good morning Boss" Ruby greeted but he snubbed her.
"Why the harshness?" She asked, moving to the coffee machine
She brewed his coffee and took it to his office
He's pacing round his office
She dropped the coffee on his table
"I'm not in the mood for coffee!, Are you blind!"
"I thought I informed you to send me a memo concerning the presentation?"
" I did sir*
"I was in severe pain but maybe she did send it but I didn't noticed"
" The cooperation will seriously be affected if the presentation fails, this has never happened before, I haven't drafted anything about it !" He complained.
Ruby went out of his office gently and got the one she wrote yesterday.
"Sir Richard, I drafted this last night so, I think it might be of help to you"
He smiled,
" So you want me to present what you drafted?, You think you're clever?" He said impolitely.
