After the Terravalleans left, normal operations were resumed in Resonance City.
The veteran warriors returned to the Forest of Echoes to train while the recruits trained inside the City's training grounds.
All the soldiers were very motivated to train after witnessing the prowess and "never give up" mentality of their military leaders.
Fortunately for them, the city makes a lot of money through the Resonance Chamber of Commerce so not only were their needs met, the city even gave them more than what they needed.
For example, as veteran soldiers, they need at least four to five body-strengthening pills every two weeks but the city gives them seven
This is how Blanc runs things, he isn't stingy at all in giving monetary rewards and spending resources.
Due to this, his subordinates always end up growing to their full potential because of the city's full support.
It wasn't only the soldiers though, even the craftsmen, the alchemists, the blacksmith, and all the other professions inside the city including even the most basic farmer.
Since they are always up to date with the latest techniques and they always have the best of everything that they need to improve in their professions, everyone always grows to their peak.
If everything is being provided to you, there's no way that you won't be motivated to work.
Although this was a heavy burden on Resonance City's finances, it was a small price to pay in exchange for happy, motivated, and high-quality subordinates.
As a bonus, the quality of life of the citizens inside the city is very luxurious compared to citizens of other nations because the breadwinners of their families weren't underpaid and in fact, you can even call them "overpaid" employees.
This is also the reason why the Resonance Chamber of Commerce was able to grow so fast. The citizens are more willing to buy stuff from them because "life isn't hard", the funds spent to grow the city were just cycling endlessly.
However, Blanc also needs to improve the city's economy if he wants to maintain this kind of operation in the future since the population keeps on growing day after day.
Currently, Blanc is very busy inside his office.
Although the Samara Kingdom (Formerly Lockridge Kingdom) is silent, he knows that they are already in an alliance with the Kairuku Kingdom which helped them defeat the Lockridge Royal Family.
He believes that in a few months or years, the Samara Kingdom will try to extend its filthy claws towards their city.
But how could Blanc let that happen? He was currently making some preparations for the upcoming invasion and while at it, he was also in the middle of improving some parts of the city.
One such preparation is building a fortress in the middle of the Dumont Dukedom and Resonance City. This is because if they let go of such a strategic location, their forces in the two territories under Blanc's control are gonna get isolated from each other.
This means that if either the Dumont Dukedom or Resonance City gets attacked by the Samara Kingdom, it would be hard for the other territory to help.
This is why building a fort in the middle of the Dumont Dukedom and Resonance City is Blanc's highest priority right now.
Building the fort wasn't his only project though, he was currently rushing to build lots of infrastructures in preparation for the war.
During the past month, Blanc had been continuously hiring carpenters and due to this, the members of the Resonance Carpenters' Association grew to a whopping seven thousand members.
Although only the veterans were assigned to the most important projects, it didn't mean that the other carpenters were idle.
On the contrary, almost all of them were deployed and only around five hundred were idle in case Blanc needed manpower for urgent building tasks.
All of them still received salaries even while idle so there was no problem at all.
The other carpenters were assigned to build some defensive structures, commercial buildings, academies, and housing in other villages and towns under Blanc's control.
Currently, the first two villages that Blanc built aside from Resonance City have already become a bustling town and aside from these two new towns under his jurisdiction, he also ordered the carpenters to create six more new villages for the growing population.
The distance of the villages from Resonance City is somewhere around half an hour to two hours away by foot and the villagers would be allowed to enter and exit Resonance City freely as long as they register in the town hall first and obtain the necessary cards to do so.
In addition to this, the villagers from the six new villages can choose to become farmers and grow crops in their own villages or they can choose to apply for a job in the city.
Of course, Blanc wouldn't let the villagers worry about their safety so wooden spiked walls were one of the priorities when building new villages and he immediately assigned some elite soldiers to defend the said villages from bandits and predatory animals.
It was getting harder and harder for Blanc to defend all of the territories under his control because he needed to split his forces to defend them properly.
He knew that it would be like this though so he didn't mind it and faced the struggles head-on. If he was a selfish and incompetent ruler like Duke Dumont, then it would be very easy to defend his territory but Blanc wasn't like that.
He wouldn't neglect his citizens and that's why he would rather spend a bit of time strategizing about where to allocate his forces instead of leaving them to fend for themselves.
This was the reason why Blanc was loved by his subordinates and subjects.
