Chương 39: Last Chance

Standing before her is Baron Brad Ferguson, looking utterly disheveled and almost unrecognizable.

His once fine clothes are now dirty and tattered, with holes here and there, barely hanging onto his gaunt frame. His eyes are bloodshot, surrounded by deep wrinkles and dark circles that speak of many sleepless nights.

His hair, greasy and matted, falls haphazardly around his unshaven face, making him look as if he hasn't showered in almost a month.

Lexzandra surveys him from head to toe, her mind filled with doubt and a twinge of regret. After what Emrys had told her about Ferguson's current state, she wasn't entirely sure if inviting him was the right decision, but she had hoped for a sliver of the brilliant artist he once was.

However, seeing him now, it was hard to believe he was ever capable of producing anything of value.
