"Armed with Thunder Fist, Chen Fan didn't hesitate. The destructive power of thunder radiated throughout his body, focusing on his clenched fist. He moved like a ghost, vanishing from his original position with astonishing speed, and his punch carried immense force as it surged straight towards Marko.
"Armed with Blue Flame," Marko declared, undeterred by the approaching thunder. Blue flames converged on his fist, propelling it forward with a resounding sonic boom.
"Boom!" The two fists clashed like titans.
Immortal flames met destruction thunder, and two formidable forces collided, causing their bodies to become blurs, constantly crashing into each other.
The battle was intense, bloody, a clash of fists against flesh, and neither showed any intention of backing down.
Chen Fan's right leg, charged with thunder in its third stage of armament, struck with an overwhelming force, resembling an Optimus Pillar, slashing fiercely at Marko.
Marko, appearing fearless, raised his arms, cloaked in blue flames, to block the incoming leg. He then forced Chen Fan back with an upward motion, and in response, Chen Fan swiftly rolled in mid-air to regain his balance.
Simultaneously, Marko's right hand transformed into a claw, its endless flames converging, and he fiercely aimed it at Chen Fan.
Chen Fan, his expression unwavering, let the destructive thunder envelop his fist as he launched a powerful counterpunch.
Blood erupted.
A deep claw mark, several centimeters in length, appeared on Chen Fan's chest, with remnants of blue flames still clinging to it. Marko, on the opposite side, was also pushed back by Chen Fan's punch, retreating dozens of meters before coming to a halt. There was a noticeable blackened area on his body.
"Thunder God Chen Fan, it's no wonder the Navy calls you a demon. Your talent and strength are indeed terrifying," Marko remarked, looking at Chen Fan with a somewhat serious expression.
"Is that so? Then you better step it up, or you might end up defeated by me," Chen Fan taunted, a smirk forming on his lips. Facing an equal opponent had ignited a strong fighting spirit within him.
"Defeated? Don't underestimate me, I'm the captain of the Whitebeard Pirates," Marko retorted, his eyes turning cold as he unleashed a torrent of blue flames, creating a streak of light in the sky, heading straight for Chen Fan.
Observing this, Chen Fan vanished instantly, and a tumultuous burst of thunder constantly illuminated the entire sky.
"Bang... Bang..." For a while, the two continued their fierce battle, with endless flames and destructive thunder causing explosions that resonated through the sky. Drops of blood rained down into the sea, creating ripples in the water.
Meanwhile, several thousand meters away, Lafitte noticed the commotion and directed his gaze toward the battle between Chen Fan and the two.
However, Lafitte had no intention of intervening; he knew that Chen Fan hadn't called for him and Monet to join the fight, indicating that Chen Fan had his own plans.
Minutes turned into hours. Half an hour later, the figures wreathed in flames and thunder were thrown backward after their collision.
"Phew..." Chen Fan panted heavily, blood staining his body and visible wounds adorning his skin. Yet the blue thunder continued to surge around him, crackling with energy.
On the other side, the immortal bird, Marko, was in a similar state, showing signs of wounds, perspiring profusely, and gasping for breath. Considering his moniker as an immortal bird, most injuries usually healed instantly when his power was restored. However, his current injuries were gruesome and would take time to mend.
"I'll admit it, you're formidable, but it's not enough to defeat me," Marko proclaimed.
"Armed with Blue Flame Giant Bird!" Suddenly, Marko's blue flames expanded as if to consume everything. Raising his arms, he summoned a colossal blue flame giant bird, over ten meters in size.
With a piercing cry, the giant bird, imbued with destructive power, hurtled toward Chen Fan at tremendous speed.
"The weak will always remain weak, and the strong will always be strong. I will be the victor in this battle," Chen Fan declared, as he released the full might of his Thunder Fist.
"Armed with 120 million volts, Brontosaurus!" Chen Fan's body erupted in destructive thunder, and he raised his hands high. Dark clouds gathered in an instant.
"Moisture," a blue dragon extended its claws and descended from the heavens, as if to obliterate everything in its path.
"Boom!" The Thunder Dragon and the Flame Giant Bird collided, creating a violent explosion that obliterated everything in their vicinity. The sky darkened, and shockwaves radiated outwards.
Both Chen Fan and Marko were sent flying by the tremendous force of the explosion, their bodies battered and bloodied.
It took several moments for the explosion to subside, and Chen Fan and Marko, who had been thrown hundreds of meters away, finally regained their composure.
The two combatants, now covered in wounds and not stopping the exchange of heated gazes, confronted each other with blazing flames and thunderous power.
After battling for so long, both of them understood that they were evenly matched. Neither had any intention of pushing the other to the brink of death.
Clearly, neither of them wanted a fight to the death, but neither wanted to be the first to back down.
Chen Fan and Marko continued to stand their ground in the air, eyeing each other intently, unwilling to make the first move.
After about a minute, Marko broke the standoff. "Next time, you'll become my subordinate."
"Is that so? I hope that next time we meet, you won't lag too far behind," Chen Fan retorted with a smirk. He knew that he had less than a sixty percent chance of defeating Marko in their current state. Moreover, his primary goal was to test his strength and accelerate his progress towards the third level of Haki.
Featuring a flash of thunder in the air, Chen Fan vanished from sight, heading back to the Thor.
Two minutes later, the destructive thunder arrived at the Thor.
Seeing the faint blue thunder, both Lafitte and Monet understood that their captain had returned.
As the thunder dissipated, Chen Fan appeared before them, covered in blood.
Monet was taken aback, not aware of the battle Chen Fan had engaged in. "Big brother, what happened? You're hurt so badly."
Monet quickly inquired with concern.
