Tianshi Xue had to get through a lot of things once she was back inside the palace walls. It had been nighttime when she arrived, and she had been confused as she was expecting it to be dawn.
"How come we're already here?" she asked Ink, still blinking against the dark. "Or did I sleep too much that it's already the next day?"
"We got here twice as fast," answered her guard with a certain tightness in her voice. She took Ink's hand and let herself be assisted until her feet touched the ground in front of the palace.
"If that had been possible, why did I have to suffer on the way there?"
"We have unloaded everything, which then made everything lighter and therefore our travel faster." There was an edge to Ink's voice that Tianshi Xue could not help but ask, "Is there something wrong?"
Ink shook her head. "Nothing at all, Your Highness."
I've been gone for another month! I am terribly sorry for leaving and not telling anyone about it. Just when I thought that things were settled in September, work just had to bulldoze all my plans to the ground. But thankfully, I got a break this October and I plan to finally get back to this story and wholly commit myself to it.
Thank you all so much if you're still here and I hope you all had a better September than I did. Lol.
