Chương 81: Tabloids
A young doctor arrived at the mansion flustered as soon as he found out Helena's awake. He climbed the flight of stairs and rushed to the room to see his patient that is also one of his good friends.
"Are you crazy!" gone the professional doctors and patient relationship. This is a good friend talking to each other.
"Daryl?" Helena was again stupefied, this life is surprising her, it was not even a full day yet and she had encounter people from her actual previous life. The urge to fight for this life grew stronger.
"You are a doctor?" Helena blurted out the words not thinking it sounding odd to Daryl that has always been a doctor and a friend to her.
"Did you bang your head to hard when you decided to kill yourself?" Daryl retort angrily.
"Kill myself?" A shocking revelation entering her mind.
"Yes, Matthew Long rejected you and you just thought the world is over. You called him and said that if he did not see you that night, you are going to kill yourself. The entire city has known about it. Your mom has spent a lot of money suppressing the tabloids, but the story and your conditions still leaked to the press."
"Daryl, i am so sorry for being an awful friend. i don't remember anything besides names and faces. If i ever hurt you in anyway, i truly am sorry for that."
Daryl jaw gap open listening to Rotten Queen Helena apology, he immediately writes it on the chart a note to take her for MRI.
"I don't need it" She knew what he is doing, she knew why she do not know anything, she is not this Helena. Her life just gets very interesting.
She can't believe she liked Matthew Long; it is disgusting. She will end up doing too many damages control.
Daryl spent the entire evening explaining to her the entire tragedy inside her household and also her life in general. He firmly believes trauma has caused her to most likely has a split personality and her memory is suppressed due by it.
"You are not a terrible friend Hel, you paid for my medical school, i was the first orphan in the orphanage that manage to upgrade my life with your help. I am forever grateful and in your debt. But i can't let you get hang up by Matthew, he loves knowing the most beautiful socialites wanting him, it made him more desirable since woman generally loves competing with you."
"Don't worry, i don't like him at all. i am done. " Helena assured him.
"Really?" Daryl asked fixing his glasses.
" Yeap, i am a new Helena Lee! vow to be happy and work hard to be a good person!".
" You really need that MRI"
Helena playfully smacked his shoulder, and her heart feels complete. She will find a loophole so this life doesnt end for her. She gets to see her mother, Daryl, and hopefully few others that she cares, even if Daniel is not in this life, she hopes he is happy somewhere with his life.
Finding a loophole so she doesn't get played by the evil spawn of Satan she encountered. She needed to discover it.
"Do you know any monk or Priest that is familiar with supernatural things or encounter?"
"Alright!!!! Thats it!! you are coming with me to the hospital!".
At the hospital....
"Told you im fine! you just made mom worried about me more, poor woman, i must have made her completely bonkers with my antics". Helena changes into her shorts and t-shirt. Talking to him behind the curtains, she changes the hospital gown and put on her pair of shorts and jeans also her sneakers. Tying her hair up in a bun she slides curtains looking at Daryl in trance.
"I cant figured out what is wrong with you!. Fine, you do not remember anything, i can accept that, but your dressing style, you will be caught dead before leaving the house wearing those, and face without make up".
"What is wrong with my clothes?" Inspecting her clothes, she keeps fixing it feeling conscious when Daryl called her out like that.
"Nothing wrong with it, you know you are beautiful, but..it is not your style"
"Now My friend, let just say i am a change woman!" She put her arm on his shoulder and walked out of the exam room with him. Their banter is delightful to see, its the most genuine conversation both had. Their playful banter was cut short when they encounter Matthew and a woman next to him. His face is full of disdain; however, he is keeping his cool by wanting to show everyone around that Helena the most beautiful heiress in the city is chasing him. He stood unbothered as if waiting for Helena to run to him and pester him, unfortunately it was greeted by her walking pass him not stopping her conversations with Daryl.
The rest of other rich heir and heiress nearby was anticipating a good show, they wanted to witness Helena begging Matthew like the tabloids keep writing about, their anticipation was not what they expect. Helena treated Matthew like an air.
The tabloid was just a gossip dedicated for rich heiress and heir. It was created by a journalist who wanted to keep track of the socialite's life. The tabloids also earn a lot of money profiting from gossip, they have a consumer from all background.
Voices of shocked and whispers was heard throughout the hallway.
"I knew it was fake, Helena might be spoiled brat, but she is too beautiful for Matthew Long. "
"Really? but the tabloids, they received a tip from someone that Helena tried killing herself because of Matthew."
"Does she look sick to you? "
"That is true... did you see she was unbothered at all?"
"Yes, she looks cool and fresh in her outfit!"
"I don't know wearing simple clothes like that can make someone looks more pretty than already are".
Matthew chews the inside of his cheek. He was livid to hear the comments from others and Helena treating him like air. She was all over him and even waiting for him in his house to meet him before.
Francesca promised him fame if he keeps giving mix signals to Helena, after all she is nothing but a brainless rich girl. He needed to look desirable, or his cousin will inherit everything from his grandfather. Securing the only legit heiress of a textile tycoon in a country is a deal wanted to snag. Securing his position. He admitted Helena is beautiful, he wanted her for fun, but he loves to play game and hard to get so she is obsessing over him. Trapping a girl who has everything was not easy.
Now things seem different, but he knows Helena is probably also playing hard to get. If he showed he is concern of her, she will buckle again.
