The other guard trembled as he continued to prostrate to Zael. The main reason why nobles are feared so much by the vampires is due to the superiority of their blood. They can literally do what Zael did in the same fashion he did; for the same reason he did – because he liked. 

Mercy and compassion long eluded Zael. Unlike on Earth, morals count for nothing in a world with power. The strong are right and the weak are wrong. The winners are good, and the losers are bad. Heroism is only for the blind. It sounds heartless, but that is the fact. A single hesitation can lead to death, that is why one needs to be decisive. 

"You, Warrior, come grab me a carriage and bring me to the castle." Zael said to a vampire prostrating far inside the gate. The vampiric scent is very strong and only because the guards are weak did, they fail to recognize Zael early on. "As you wish, your majesty." the warrior then swiftly left to get a carriage.
