Darkness. Soon replaced by light, almost blinding.
The world tree or rather its bark went through the ground, merging into the ceiling, almost ever present, yet not present at the same time. It was so big, Mihael couldn't see the top, and so wide, he couldn't figure out if the bark itself was a kilometer wide or two kilometers.
Sky, darkened as though twilight. Ground, shiny and reflective like they were standing on water but no ripples formed. There was nothing here; trees, houses, wildlife, nothing at all but the two standing in the distance.
Wait, no, the darkness didn't quite disappear. It was there, lingering in the corners. Corners? Was this a room? A room bigger than heaven itself. The borders were quite distant, but Mihael could tell… this room wasn't meant for gods to survive in.
