Soar was standing on my shoulder as we were heading back to my camp to eat when suddenly both of us felt something strange.

It was an odd feeling, and it seemed to have attracted Soar's attention as he took off into the air with Geppo, towards the source of the sensation.

I furrowed my brow but followed him. There was no danger on this island, so I was not too worried. I trailed him to one of the ruins I had investigated beforehand. There was nothing special about this place except that it looked ancient.

I theorized about its age, and combined with the climate surrounding this island, the name Rajin, and the many mysteries surrounding it, it must be from the Void Century, as Marco's memories held no knowledge of this island, even though he had tried at one point in time to learn why lightning seemed to surround this place.

As I walked in, I found Soar in the middle of the ruins, staring at a wall and attacking it, but he was unable to do any damage.

Curious, I walked to his side, picked him up, and placed him back on my shoulder. Then I simply infused my fist with Armament Haki and, with a single punch, broke down the wall. It crumbled and revealed a hidden room.

There were giant paintings on the walls of creatures that looked like birds and dragons. Some were surrounded by lightning, another was covered in fire, and the third one I could not make out due to the damage.

There were also some writings on it, and from Marco's memories, I recognized them as the ancient language, since he had seen several Poneglyphs in his lifetime. I kept looking around in awe at how beautiful this all was, and then my eyes landed on a giant blue stone: a Poneglyph.

I approached it and could hear some whispers or a kind of humming, but I was unable to make out a single word. I thought this might be a sign that I possessed the Voice of All Things, but no matter what I tried, I could not make the whispers louder or understand them, and I was slowly getting a headache.

I looked over my shoulder to see Soar, but then I noticed he was gone. I started looking around for him, but quickly found him standing by a chest, digging through some gold coins and other valuables.

I couldn't help but smile at first; I found it adorable. But my expression turned to concern as I noticed the obsession in his eyes, desperately searching for something.

I kept watching from a distance, letting my curiosity hold me back to see what had made him so frantic.

After a while, growing tired of watching, he picked up a strange-looking ring and started staring at it intensely before biting it as if he were a starving man.

I had enough and started walking toward him when suddenly a light erupted from the ring, illuminating the entire roof of the cave.

I looked up and noticed small shapes forming. My eyes narrowed as the shapes took physical form, and I immediately jumped back as tons of gold, chests, and weapons started raining down.

"What did you do?" I exclaimed, bewildered, shifting my gaze to Soar.

He just shrugged and simply threw the ring away.

"Wait!" I shouted as I Soru'd and caught it before it could get lost. "What the hell are—" Before I could finish, he glided to the new stack of treasure and started rummaging through it. "Sigh… this guy is even worse than Nami," I thought as I shook my head at him while inspecting the ring.

The ring was not made of gold, and I could not recognize the material it was made from. It also had some strange markings that I could not decipher. Aside from that, I could not see anything out of the ordinary.

I tried putting it on to see if it would perhaps trigger something, but again I was left disappointed.

I fiddled with it; there had to be a way to trigger whatever Soar did when he was biting it—some hidden button or... Click.

A sound was heard as I squeezed the two markings on each side of the ring, and a small holographic menu appeared in front of me.

"Storage system," it was labeled at the top, and it seemed to have different categories for money, gold, weapons, etc.

I was able to navigate it using my mind, but everything was empty.

It also had an info section explaining that it was a storage ring and included user instructions that explained its use and limitations.

I didn't understand how something like this existed in this world. If it was a ring that had storage capabilities from a Devil Fruit, then it would make sense, but this…

Suddenly, a realization struck me. If this cave was from 800 years ago, during the Void Century—which, according to Vegapunk, held technology centuries beyond our current time—then maybe this was one of the few things that remained from that period.

If I was right, I could only imagine how advanced that time must have been, given how important a role the moon plays and how many species have a connection to it. Perhaps they could even do space travel.

My thoughts raced with endless possibilities, but I soon brushed them off. None of that would do me any good now; it was long gone.

I looked at the ring again as I dismissed the small projection in front of me and smiled. This little thing would make things so much easier, especially since it held objects in the same condition as they were when placed in—so food, corpses, and medicine would not expire or rot.

"Soar!" I called out as I looked around and could not find him. I used Observation Haki and sensed his presence around the gold held by the ring.

I called out again, and his head suddenly popped up, causing me to chuckle at his goofy smile. But my expression quickly turned serious as I saw what he was holding.

"NO WAIT!" I shouted, using Kamisori to reach him, but it was too late. His teeth were already in it, and he swallowed it. As I grabbed him, I held him upside down and shouted, "Throw it up... every single piece of it!"

Before he could say anything, his eyes turned blue, and I sensed danger with my Observation Haki.

BOOM!!

Lightning shot out of his eyes and engulfed me. I didn't bother to dodge, knowing it would do no damage. I let my blue flames quickly heal any burns I might have had.

Soar was now on the ground as I set him free, and I could see fear in his eyes. I was not sure if it was fear of me or what had just happened.

I sighed and bent down to pat his head. "Great job, kid. You just ate a Devil Fruit, and one of the most powerful of them all—a mythical Zoan, Thunder Bird," I explained as I concluded this was the only logical option.

Enel already had the Lightning Logia, and no other Devil Fruit could shoot out lightning from the eyes except for a Thunder Bird. The paintings on the walls were also a significant indication, along with the obvious thunder mark on the fruit. But what occupied my thoughts now was how or why it had attracted Soar.

He had come here because he felt drawn to this place, as he had told me when I questioned him about why he wandered these parts knowing the danger around the island. He shrugged at that time, and now he was drawn to it again. Mythical Zoans have a mind of their own, but I had never heard of them being able to attract the user in this way.

Soar calmed down a little from my patting his head, and I assured him that he would be able to turn into a massive bird and control lightning, which meant we could fly around the entire world and become very strong.

He gave me his iconic grin in response—one that could rival Luffy's iconic "D" grin. I then looked at him thoughtfully but quickly shook my head; that would not be possible.

I placed him back on my shoulder as we headed out. The treasure held no meaning to me, but what was important was that I would not let this little guy get away, especially not with such a powerful fruit. He would play a very important role in my future plans, and given his young age, it would not be difficult to brainwash him into complete submission and loyalty to only me.
