FINDING TREASURE AMONG THE HEAP
"Here, Iras, take these three keys. I'll keep two of them", I told Conjurer Iras as I passed him his share of the reward from completing the A-mission.
"We wouldn't really know if the skill inside the spheres is any good. By the descriptions on the magical spheres, it could either be a divine skill or a useless one", Iras told me.
"That is why they generously gave us five picks as rewards. Some of our picks might be useless", I replied to him.
"These Knights are tricky. Even in giving rewards, they make the system like a lottery", Iras told me.
"Well, good luck with your picks", I told him before I floated to find my prize.

"Ratatouille, can you find the best magic to take from here?" I asked Ratatouille after I summoned him from my soul realm.
When treasure hunting was involved, Ratatouille was the best partner we could have.
"I really can't see through the magic inside the spheres", Ratatouille complained to me.
"Wait that is it. We need to see through magic to get the best stuff", I replied to him.
"How can we see through magic?" he asked me.
"We can't see through magic, but Asterix could", I replied to him.
"But Asterix is not with us here", he said to me.
"She loaned me a scanner drone", I replied to him as I brought out a device that looked like a projector.
The projector projected beams of invisible light into the dark chamber. To the untrained eye, nothing happened with the device. But the device quickly recorded the spectrums that it received and documented them.
I put on my earphones to see the result of the scanner drones.
"Indeed, most of the spheres here are duds. There is little magic inside the spheres", I told Ratatouille.
"If it is just a book, even if the knowledge is divine, it will appear like a normal book. What is the use of your scanning?" Ratatouille asked me.
"That is not correct. If the skill contained inside the magic instrument or book is legendary, the device or book that contains them are usually potent in magic", I told him my speculation.
Powerful spells or templar skills would usually be contained inside powerful chests or books. Due to the importance of the knowledge inside, the vault will use equipment that would ensure their protection.
In case of an accident in the secret vault, only the useless books would be destroyed but the good ones were protected.
"Beet…beet…beet"
Suddenly, my scanning drone found something worth checking out. There was a magical sphere that looked ordinary from the outside with a few worn-out runes on its shell. But hidden inside the sphere was a powerful and concentrated magic.
"What is inside that sphere?" I asked Ratatouille.
Ratatouille inspected the magic sphere that my scanning drone pointed out to me but even he couldn't find anything different about this sphere compared to the hundreds of spheres around here.
"I really couldn't tell", Ratatouille told me.
"What the hell, I'll just take this", I told him as I put a magic key on the sphere.
"Wee woo wee woo"
Suddenly, alarms rang across the realm of the secret vault. But this wasn't an alarm that detected an unlawful theft. This was to report to the owners of the vault that something valuable has been taken.
"What the hell is this?" Ratatouille asked me.
The magical sphere that protected this disappeared soon after I put in the magic key. What remained here was a mysterious bean of some sort.
"This is a magic bean", I told him.
"What is the use of the bean?" Ratatouille asked me.
"I don't know, there are no manuals lying around", I replied to him.
Suddenly, an apparition appeared before the bean to our surprise and shock. The apparition was of an aged knight who commanded a powerful aura.
"Congratulations for picking the Seed of Life", the apparition told me.
"What is this Seed of Life?" I asked him.
"This seed came from the magical realm of life, and it contains the magic of life. If allowed to grow, it could become an enormous tree that can reach the skies", the apparition told us.
"This is useless what is the point of growing a tall tree that reach the skies?" Ratatouille asked us.
"Maybe we can climb the tall tree to find a giant living in the clouds", I mused to him.
"You have received your treasure, what you do with it is entirely up to you", the apparition told us before it disappeared.
"Hey, is he gone already? What is the use of the lousy seed?" Ratatouille complained to us.
"This seed seems unremarkable, but it contains enormous magic", I told him.
"What is the use of the enormous magic if it only makes the seed grow indefinitely into the skies?" Ratatouille asked me.
"You are right. There is little use in growing this bean. Even Jack didn't get any treasures going up the beanstalk", I told him.
"Who is Jack?" he asked me.
"Jack and his Beanstalk. Even if there is treasure there, a giant may be waiting there crying, Fee-fi-fo-fum before he tries to kill us", I replied to him and mused.
'Jack and the Beanstalk' was a children's fairy tale on Earth where my previous life came from.
"What is the use of the bean then?" Ratatouille told me.
"I'll take it first. We'll figure out what it does later", I replied to him before I took the Seed of Life.
"At least you have a second pick", Ratatouille told me.
Suddenly, a voice spoke to me in my mind.
"Pick that sphere", the voice said to me and pointed me to a particular magic sphere.
"Are you sure? There is little magic inside the magic sphere", I replied to the voice.
"I will need it", the voice said to me.
So, I opened the magical sphere with my final key. To our surprise there weren't any magical books or artifacts inside here, only a piece of ragged garment.
"What is the use of this scrap?" Ratatouille asked me.
