Chương 18: Dragon's Apostle
In the dining table together with Claire, Edward and Josh, Cedrick was having his first meal in this world. They casually talk some things to pass time. As the chance shows up Edward took the opportunity to voice out his concern.
"Cedrick-sama what do you think will be our course of action?"
"That's a nice question to ask."
Delighted that Cedrick is willing to listen. He doesn't really has no problem if Cedrick just let them do whatever they want. He expectantly listened to the words of Cedrick.
"By the way, how many barbarians are there in total?"
"We have 100,000 barbarians living here in Kunlon City."
Edward answered the question respectfully.
"Do you guys have any construction or production skills?"
"Please forgive us for our incompetence but we don't."
He was embarrassed that they can't live up to his expectation.
"Right. Your a warrior race so it's not weird if you guys don't know how to do it."
Cedrick answered nonchalantly as he was still chewing.
"You should continue doing what you've been doing. Maybe I should see your military when you guys are training."
Cedrick said some random nonsense but Edward was delighted in hearing it.
"Our pleasure. We hope you can watch the might of our troops."
"Thank you for the meal."
Cedrick finished his meal but muttered in thought.
"This is good. The food taste delicious. Well is is because I have never eaten this kind of food? It also looks like there is mana in the food."
Cedrick was very impressed in the food and then talk about his purpose of the meeting.
"Josh. Your the greatest genius among the barbarians right?"
Josh who was still eating froze when Cedrick mentioned his name.
"Come here. I want to test something."
Josh approached Cedrick and kneeled in front of him. He was somewhat nervous and at the same time he excited.
"According to the skill the procedure should be like this right?"
Cedrick thought and he cut one of his finger with his claw in the thumb. Blood flows out and then he ordered Josh.
"Drink it."
Josh was a bit hesistant but he followed his order. He made sure to drink every drop of blood until Cedrick's fingers healed.
"I, the Arcane Dragon Cedrick Astre appoint you Josh Castro as my apostle. From here on out you will be known as the Arcane Dragon's Apostle."
As soon as Cedrick finish the line, A system notification appeared.

"Yes."

Suddenly etherion wrapped around Josh. Edward was worried but did not disturb them. He could see Cedrick is making his son his apostle.
Apostle- It is said it is a God's Avatar. An Apostle is a person who represents the will of the god since they cannot descend on the mortal realm as their power was enormous which makes them restricted.
But right now a dragon himself is making an apostle. It is never heard before. It's because due to their emmense pride they felt there was no need to make a Dragon's Apostle.
He was delighted as his son will be the first ever apostle of a dragon.He felt immense proudness and gratitude towards his son.
As Edward was feeling joyful, notifications appeared in Cedrick's view.

"Not for now. I haven't had a skill that will be compatible for him."

Suddenly sparkling blue scales covered his body from his chest to his neck. It was Draconic Scale.

"Now that he is stonger than before he will be a good experience machine. I'll just let him level up and I'll gain levels too."

The change is very enormous. Not only his stats but it almost like he had changed to an entire new entity. Even at age of 5 and a level 33 of that he was almost on par with Edward. But he still cannot be compared to his father as he is lacking in battle experience.
So this is the effect of being an apostle. You get a part of strength of the one you serve.
"As far as I know from the data I got when I arrived in this world, the inhabitants of Lugarix doesn't have a quest function."

Cedrick concluded as he now have better understanding of the inhabitants of Lugarix. He was happy as he have a great advantage compared to others. Suddenly Cedrick noticed something intriguing about Josh.
"He smells different from before as it's like him but also not him. Well it's no surprise as he became a half-draconian."
Cedrick then waited to Josh to regain his conciousness as he was really curious on what will happen to the kid.
(Josh POV)
Cedrick-sama said I should drink the blood flowing from his finger. I was a bit hesitant at first as I know the value of a dragon's blood. Every part of a dragon is a national treasure. Especially the blood.
Legends said that a drop of blood from Evil Dragon Bunhelier that accidentally fell into a well and mutated ordinary humans. A single drop of blood gave birth to the half-draconians, who had long shown their battle prowess.
I keep saying to myself 'Do I really deserve this?' but I don't dare to disobey his orders. I drank the blood and made sure not a single drop is wasted.
Suddenly a dark blue mana surrounds me. I was taken aback but I did not resist. I knew this power. I have seen this when Cedrick-sama is evolving so I knew this power belongs to him.
I suddenly felt drowsy and want to sleep. I can't fight back and soon succumb to sleepiness.
I felt as if there was an enormous quantity of energy that filled my entire body and caused it to overflow. The Draconic arteries and veins were awakened by the magic power that penetrated the bones and cells.
Everything in my body was smashed and recreated. The foundation of being a barbarian crumbled and was replaced by a firm foundation.
Even I'm asleep I could still see the notifications that constantly appear.

Swoosh! Josh's body wasn't the only thing that changed, but his soul had evolved as well, and he sensed the world in a new way. The Draconic species had the ability to study and comprehend the truth in everything. With some practice, he felt that he could easily control it.
Despite the fact that the adjustments had occurred in a matter of minutes, the situation had drastically changed. He had changed, and he began to believe that he could accomplish anything.
'This must be the source of the Draconic species' pride,' he reasoned, believing that they deserved to think that way.
Plus, there was one more thing he could sense now: 'Power.'
He could now access the eight authorities since he possessed a Draconic Body that had gotten the Arcane Dragon's blessing. Even though this was simply the first step, it was still incredible. Josh was desperate to see it in action.
(Main POV)
Josh had awoken and he scanned every inch of his body. Cedrick didn't bother talking as he was curious on what Josh's reaction after his evolution.
Claire on the side holding Cedrick's hand felt the same. She was very curious as she could see that Josh has changed. She could slightly feel the aura of Cedrick coming from him.
"It seems the same but at the same it's not."
She softly mumbled while holding Cedrick's hand. She made use the chance of Cedrick's curiosity towards his Apostle.
Cedrick suddenly talked as he can see that Josh is regaining the clarity of his consciousness.
"Your quite interesting to think you can understand the feeling of evolving into a different being."
Hearing Cedrick's remark, Josh immediately kneeled in front of Cedrick and said.
"I Josh Castro will swear to never disgrace the mighty Arcane Dragon as the Arcane Dragon's Apostle."
"I will follow every order you command even if I exchange my life and everything else."
Josh said in a resolute voice. Even he is still a 5 years old, he now saw the perspective of the dragon's in this world and after becoming the Arcane Dragon's Apostle he knows better than anyone what kind of existence his master is.
He understands better than anyone why his Master was called the Ultimate Dragon.
A dragon who will resist and devour all kinds of magic. No magic can do anything against him. He is also capable of using all kinds of magic in this world. All Dragons, Gods, Demon and Elementals paled against him.
The biggest thing is he received the characteristics of the Arcane Dragon.
Cedrick who can read what going through his mind due to the connection of him being his apostle was pleased. He can imagine what kind of things his apostle will do in the future.
"Now this is exhilarating."
