I never got tired of the band's performances. Watching them on stage made all the turmoil and hard work it took to put a gig together seem worthwhile. Seeing the rush that Flynn got on stage every time was so sexy; it always turned me on when I watched him feed off the hordes of fans that came to see them live. Making albums in the studio was the bread and butter of the band, the caviar was when they got to interact with those fans face to face, or a stadium full of faces, as it was in their case.
The last show of the tour came, and everyone was tired, but you'd never have guessed that once they'd hit that stage at Wembley. Flynn was the only guy on stage for most of the time in my mind. But I'd had to remind myself that was the manager of the entire band and observed all their performances to ensure we weren't getting stale, and everyone was playing to their potential. Fortunately, I'd rarely had anything to gripe about on that score.
