Chương 25: Final Week - Day 2 - The Gloomy Girl with Absolute Luck and Me

[ ~ Chapter • Start ~ ]

I'd say that yesterday was a good one. Seeing Pulptenks quite happy being with me, maybe for one last time for this year should be good enough.

For both me and her, technically.

Don't worry, I used contraceptive spells learned from Big Sis, and I didn't forget to always use them.

Reason? Well, I don't want to be in trouble too much. Teenage pregnancy is very troublesome so I'm lucky I used that convenient spell.

And.... I'm not sure if I'm ready to have kids. At least not yet.

Anyways, I took a stroll around this city, wondering what final things should I do.

As far as I remember, I don't really have to go back to the casino. Even though I have resolved a few incidents, shortened the time of a prisoner's stay, and rightfully punished a cheater (the Rance way, of course). I'd probably lose more GOLD than earned.

Hm, maybe I'd get my time to check upon the Weapon Shop, "Lost Hope". The shop where Patty's friend, Millie was living in.

Patty also said she'd be open around noon, and it seems like I just came at the right time, as she had recently left a building that has a a sign above it saying "Lost Hope" with innocent, joyful stride.

It's obvious that was the building I wanted to visit for a day at most.

So, I entered the shop, all while a girl stood near a desk. She had blonde hair with a higanbana on it, blue eyes, pale skin, and she is wearing a gothic dress and black stockings that reacher up to her thighs.

To be honest, she's around 92/100 in total, could've been 100/100 if she didn't feel so gloomy and apathetic.

".... Welcome to Lost Hope. I'm Millie Lincle. You might be Rance, that one person Patty was talking about for a while and the one who saved me several days ago. Thanks anyway." The girl introduced herself without care, and guessed who I am.

"Yeah. I am just here to do some interaction with you, that's all." I replied to her, as her expression didn't really budge at all.

"... Mm, go on."

Hmm.... I'll try asking her about her luck in a vague way.

"Does everything that happen around you a coincidence, so much so that you might consider ending yourself just because life is becoming so dull and boring?" I asked her, while her expression very slightly brightened up.

She was silent for a minute, until she replied ".... Maybe, I've been wondering that for a short while now. Though I don't want Patty to be sad over me dying." She then lightly sighed.

"So what really brings you here?" Millie asked, trying to switch the topic.

"How about I say I found an item that would negate that abnormal luck of yours?" I replied, shifting through my backpack and taking out a pair of glasses I found on Khien Manor while I was investigating it.

Strangely enough, the glasses have a property of negating luck thoroughly, and while I was wearing it, I encountered more monsters between my investigation inside it, especially Nubobos, those shitty EXP stealing ghost type monsters, and I was more susceptible to a lot of traps inside that mansion. Those effects only lasted until I took off the glasses.

Millie was staring at me as if I was a strange man. She blinked her eyes, and became confused.

".... Glasses?" Even with that apathetic expression of hers, she couldn't help but feel that this was pretty random.

Though, due to curiosity, she approached me and gestured me to lend over the glassesz which I did.

".... I'm giving this back if what you say isn't true. If not, I'll just allow you to take only one weapon of choice here or 2,500 G." Millie said nonchalantly, before wearing those said sunglasses.

And now her appearance goes straight to 130/100.

At first, nothing happened, until I thought I should do something pretty questionable just before she decided to give those glasses back to me.

"....?" (Millie)

I began to grope Millie's breast as she stared at me with that same apathetic, nonchalant expression.

She didn't mind it, as if expecting something bad to happen to me.

Yet nothing happened.

I delved into deeper territory by crouching down and lifting her skirt. Usually, some gag happens but this wasn't anime but an eroge.

"Hm, laced black panties, huh?" I commented, before I stopped and retreated from molesting her further and getting myself into more risks.

"..... Absolute Luck..... didn't work?" Millie questioned with less nonchalance, staring emptily at somewhere behind me.

I waved my hand in front of her face, bringing her attention back to me.

"... I need further testing. Aside from that, I'll allow you to freely take any weapon displayed there as compensation." Millie said, moving the glasses that I have given her to fit her vision in exchange for a weapon.

Even though all those weapons displayed were unique in their own right.... I just can't help but notice a computer chair named as a "Technical Mace", and a Deagle.

You would rarely see the former around Leazas, even though it's actually a pretty weak weapon, it can be used as a chair too, while the latter isn't supposed to exist here.

I took the DEagle off it's stand, and looked at Millie, who probably looked confused.

"I don't know what this is, but how did this get here?" I asked her just before I inspected it.

"..... Oh, that? I found it when a crazy man who appeared out of nowhere began shouting nonsense and began randomly killing people for no reason with that. That's yours, if you want it." Millie replied, shrugging her shoulders and staring at me.

....

"Well, I think it was nice meeting you here, though.... I should say that if you are in a pinch, you should rely on your luck sometimes." I spoke, while giving her an advice that might help her.

She nodded, and that was my cue to leave.

I figured I should give Patty one last visit for this year, too.

[ ~ Line • Break ~ ]

The moment I arrived in the Beach Shop Baltic, I saw Patty sitting down on a chair, tapping her fingers on the table while noticing that I have entered her shop.

When I saw her face, the distraught expression she was showing immediately became a neutral one as if to hide it.

"Rance, are you here to buy snacks?" Patty asked, with her usual expression of happiness. Even though something about that expression felt fake.

So I stared at her.

".... Something wrong?"

With that reply, Patty leaned her head towards the table, resting it as her expression changed again.

Patty heaved out a huge sigh, and lightly slammed her head on the table "It's just that.... I'm not good enough at swimming! I know how to, but I get tired easily! Ugh....."

I stared at her with a little more intensity.

"You..... you haven't considered exercising, haven't you....?" I said, and within moments, her expression turned neutral and rubbed her chin.

"I've been exercising, stretching my body at certain times, but that doesn't work!"

I blinked my eyes in disappointment while I approached her.

And then, I smacked her head.

"Owww!? What was that for!?"

Patty was rubbing the part where I smacker her, before looking annoyed at me for doing that.

"You're doing the wrong exercises, that's why I am calling you stupid at this very moment. You definitely need my help, right? I won't do it for free, just so you know."

So, I became her instructor for a long while, as she began training her body under my guidance.

In ten minutes, she's already down on the ground sideways, tired, yet determined.

"Hey, don't try to exert yourself, just do this around three times a day, so that your time whole being a shopkeep wouldn't be wasted." I spoke my advice, as the Loli got up from the sandy ground and nodded.

"And lastly, have you been doing a well balanced diet?" I asked, as Patty took a deep breath.

"Yep....! I'm going to be training daily, just so that I might win at that contest that I am going to participate in a month and a half." Patty replied, pumping her fists as she gained a smile.

That was.... quick.

I came at the right moment, gave her a good advice, and temporarily began teaching her as her instructor.

Her distraught and sad self was gone, and I filled her with a lot of hope for an upcoming contest.

Anyways, after a long while of being her temporary instructor, I left for the Bistro Bar to order my dinner, not before gaining 750 G from Patty.

So... what would happen tomorrow, then?

Maybe Sill has successfully unenrolled out of Paris Academy, if so, then good.
