Chương 27: The Douche and the Stuck-Up Princess
"It's fun, I haven't had fun in a while so this will do."
"What a douche." I tell him.
"What a stuck-up princess." He says back to me.
We both stare at each other for a few seconds and start to laugh. I would say it got heated for a moment there, but it was pretty fun.
"You're fun to trifle with." I tell him while I wrap my arms around myself. It's chilly out here.
"You're cold, here take my jacket." He takes off his jacket and hands it to me across the table.
"Thank you that's very sweet of you." I grab the jacket and instantly wrap it around me. Wow this jacket is warm, too warm. Maybe it's all that muscle he has that keeps him warm. Wish I had muscle I'm just bones and stomach fat.
"I have a question. What kind of name is Quinneth?" He finishes up his ice cream and chucks it in the garbage next to us.
"My mother's name was Quinn and my father's mothers name was Beth. When they had me, they wanted me to have their name. Originally It was going be Quinn Beth, but my middle name is Margrethe after my Grandmother which they felt was too long of a name. So, they mashed it together to Quinneth."
"Your full name is Quinneth Margrethe Worthingshire?"
"Ye- wait a minute how do you know my last name?" I don't remember telling him that.
He springs up from the bench and starts walking to his car. "Would you look at the time your break is almost over got to get you back to the shop before Ida chews your ass out."
I start to run to catch up to him while clutching his jacket to my body. The tables have turned first it was him chasing me now it's me chasing him. We arrive to the car and he opens the door for me to get in.
"Answer my ques-." Before I could finish, he cuts me off.
"Get in the car." He says in a demanding voice.
"No. Answer my question." I said standing my ground.
"I'll tell you when you get in the car." I hesitantly fight the urge to argue with him and get in the car. I look down at my phone to see that my break will be over in 10 minutes. He was right I really don't have time to argue.
He goes around the car, hops in and drives off headed back to Ida's shop.
"Now will you tell me?" I ask politely.
"I looked you up ok." I gasp and hold my hands against my mouth trying to hold in the laugh.
"You looked me up oh my god don't tell me I have a personal stalker that's so cute." I lean over to his side of the car and start to pinch his cheeks. He swats my hand away and tells me to sit back down.
"Since we are being honest, I have a confession to tell. I also looked you up." I blush and look towards the window.
He pulls up to the Ida's shop and parks the car. "So, someone was interested in me so looks like I may have a stalker on my hands." He says jokily. He leans over to my side and puts his hands on my face and squeezes my cheeks.
"Let go of me!" I laugh out loud at him and squirm up. Without realizing it I placed my hands on his hands that were on my face and try to pry them off. Right in that moment another spark occurs in our hands. He pulls away from me and I from him. We both chose to ignore it and until on joking with each other.
Sadly, it was time for me to go back to work. We walk into the shop laughing at a joke Alexander was telling me.
"Then all of a sudden Aren was looking around for her clothes and what she didn't realize was that me and Christian took them from the lake. She was mad at us for a week. She had to cover herself up with a bush." I laugh so loudly customers start to look at us, mostly me.
"If I was her, I would have killed you right then and there." I tell him smacking him on the arm.
We keep on laughing until I see a familiar figure turn around.
Myers.
What is he doing here? Also, how does he know where I work?
"Hey Myers what are you doing here?" I ask curiously.
"Can't a guy visit his girlfriend?" He said the last part loudly. He must be jealous of Alexander how cute.
"Yeah, there's nothing wrong with that. This is Alexander he's a friend of mine." He looks Alexander up and down trying to figure him out.
"Hey I'm Myers her boyfriend." I let out a yelp as Myers wraps his arm around my waist pulling me close while reaching out to shake his hand. Alexander reaches out and gives him a manly hand shake.
"Nice to meet you."
"Likewise".
I can feel the tension in the room so I had to say something.
"Well Alexander it was fun hanging out with you maybe we can do this another time?" I ask him hoping he'd say yes. Besides all the bickering I had lots of fun with him.
"For sure. Here's my number." He walks over to the counter, writes down his number and hands me the piece of paper.
"Thanks, I'll call." He reaches out his hand to shake it, but he remembers what happened in the car so he retreats his hand back and heads towards the door. Before leaving he eyed up Myers then walked out the door. I wave him off and he speeds down the road in his car.
"SOOO what is my favorite boyfriend doing here?" I say while tugging on his shirt.
"You're not going to call him, are you?" He asked while looking at Alexander as he drives off.
"Alright were not going to be that couple that's jealous of each other all the time, are we?" I ask going behind the counter to put my bag on the shelf.
"No, I just don't want to feel like someone trying to take my girl."
Awe I'm his girl how cute.
"See I'm yours not his you have nothing to worry about. He most likely likes leggy, rich pretty models he's not fascinated with the likes of me." I tell him leaning forward over the counter to peck him on the lips.
"Yeah you're probably right. You're neither of those I'll see you later ok babe." He kisses me back and gives me a smack on the butt. I gasp out in shock.
He did not just say that to me. I shrug it off and get back to work.
Before walking out the door to my car I hear a ding from my phone. Checking it I see I have a message from Myers. It reads, "Hey want to catch the lights at the park tonight?" I was going to go home take a hot bath, then go to sleep, but this seems better. I send him sure and say I'll be there in 15 minutes.
At the Park..
Looking around the park I try to spot Myers. Every year tons of people turn out in the park for the St. Helena Lights. They do this every year to honor those who were important in St. Helena that died. I've lived here my whole life and this is my first time coming to this. To my left I see him sitting on the ground texting someone.
I sneak up behind him quietly trying not to have him spot me. As I get closer I tickle his sides.
"SUSPRISE." I yell in the his. He instantly jumps up in fear, when he sees it's me he grabs my arm and lays me on the ground.
"You think your funny huh?" He says looming over me, face very close to mine.
"I like to think I am." I said holding in my laugh.
"Let's see how you like this." He pins me down with one arm and the other he tickles me with. I laugh hysterically at the tickling,
"I beg for mercy please." I say trying to get my words out. He ends up stopping and lifting me up. "You animal."
"But I'm your animal?" He asks kissing me on the temple.
"I guess." I say returning a kiss to him.
"I wanted to bring you to the light show. We haven't hung out since I was last at your house." He said pulling me close to him, I snuggle up close to him.
"This is nice I love it." He leans down and kisses me tenderly on the lips. We pull away and stare into each other eyes.
"You have never looked more beautiful than you look tonight." His hands comes to my face to caress my cheek.
"And you never looked more handsome before." I said back to him.
We spend the next few minutes staring up at the light, how beautiful they were. Lyra would love this. I check my clock to make sure I don't miss my dinner date with Lyra.
An Hour later...
"I'll see you later." I say to Myers.
"You too." He pulls me close and plants a kiss on my lips.
We say goodbye to each other and part ways.
