Chương 4: Chapter 4 - Remarkable Fight

2 hours later, Tian Longmeng is travelling around the west of his home with a large sack of disembodied animals and many fishes. "I think it is time for me to go home now," Tian Longmeng said to himself as he saw the scarlet coloured sky indicating that nighttime was approaching in about an hour's time.

As Tian Longmeng set his course for his home, a ground-shaking roar sounded. It was accompanied by a massively oppressive force that rendered all the trees to shreds and resulted in animals exploding into pools of blood. Of course, Tian Longmeng was affected by this force and was sent flying with numerous injuries. Luckily, he was too far so the force was massively diluted by the time it reached Tian Longmeng or else he would have become a pool of blood just like the other animals.

"Urh!" Tian Longmeng groaned as he tried his hardest to stand from off the ground of rubble and debris. He could barely stand and when he did, his legs immediately gave out causing him to kneel on one knee.

Tian Longmeng felt an intense pressure in front of him as he struggled to get an understanding of the situation. He was immensely shocked when he saw a giant lion figure flying in the skies while fighting against a bird creature. They were fighting in the direction closer to the center of the Desolate Forest more than 100 miles away from Tian Longmeng's location.

The fight that the lion and bird were having was on a level of strength Tian Longmeng had never seen in his life. Up to this moment, his father was the strongest level of strength that Tian Longmeng had experienced. However, Tian Longmeng was certain that even their ripples of power that escaped from the creatures' fight could easily kill tens of Tian Fengmengs.

Unexpectedly, a ripple of energy came in his direction once more as Tian Longmeng was preoccupied with the match between the lion and the bird. He scrambled to prepare any sort of defense but it only took seconds for the ripple to reach him and send him flying once more.

Surprisingly, Tian Longmeng did not turn into a pool of blood still and he was still alive. The problem, however, was that countless bones in his body were broken and many organs were ruptured. It was not long until he bled out and died.

Lying flat on the ground, Tian Longmeng tried his best to keep his eyes open and drag his body to a place where the ripples would not affect him. He could not go far because of the rubble, upheaval of trees, and countless animal corpses.

As Tian Longmeng's vision started to fail him because of his blood loss, he noticed a small third figure amongst the group. Tian Longmeng tried his best to deduce the small figure, and the figure seemed... human?

...

When Tian Longmeng woke up, he found that the entire place was mauled to the ground and countless mountains were destroyed. Tian Longmeng noticed that it was far into midnight and that he might have unconscious for about 2 or 3 hours.

There was no sign of the Lion, bird creature, or the mysterious human anywhere to be seen. What was even more surprising was that he himself was perfectly fine. There were no injuries to be seen anywhere on his body. He did not even have any broken bones or any internal bleeding.

There was not even any slight sense of pain.

If Tian Longmeng had not looked on all the spilt blood on the ground, he would have thought that he saw a dream caused by the ripples. He scanned the area very carefully before discreetly trying to escape the area.

About an hour later, Tian Longmeng reached about 100 miles going north. He decided that since all the landmarks for him to reach home safely has been reduced to rubble, then the safest move was to head for the nearest high ground so that he can map out a direction. He was also picking up a lot of monster meat from the aftermath of the battle.

As he was picking up some meat, he encountered a pack of desolate beast running from the mountain area. Tian Longmeng knew this could spell trouble for him if they spotted him, being human. He quickly changed course subtly eastward to try to wait out the beast horde so that he could continue on his journey.

He was unfortunate however because he accidentally stepped on a ribcage of a dead animal, making the loudest cracking sound. Tian Longmeng immediately sprinted towards the east without looking behind him, because he knew that the beasts were alerted.

Even worse is that they could be thinking that Tian Longmeng was going to attack them from the bushes, which would enrage the beasts even further.

Tian Longmeng's guess was not far off either since he could hear the thundering steps of enraged beasts chasing after him. Tian Longmeng had to just run for his dear life; he knew that right now he could not face off against 20 or so desolate beasts. He would just be overwhelmed and mauled.

"That's strange." Tian Longmeng said as he was running away from the beast horde. He noticed a peculiar hillside area that was unaffected by the aftermath of the fight. Even weirder was that the greenery and the atmosphere around the hill were similarly unaffected.

He immediately saw a cave at the base of the hillside and decided to head straight in without any consideration.

"Wait no! They may corner me here!" Tian Longmeng realized that heading into a one-way cave might be disastrous for him. However, he noticed something was off about the situation. He decided to turn around to view the oncoming horde and was baffled at the sight. "They- They're all dead?"
