Chương 33: Chapter 0033: Aizen Hangs Himself

###

After hesitating for a moment, Su Jin continued to try extracting the Hōgyoku from Rukia Kuchiki's soul. However, upon discovering that forcibly removing it would result in the simultaneous destruction of Rukia's soul core and the Hōgyoku, he chose to abandon the attempt.

In fact, Su Jin had anticipated this outcome. If the Hōgyoku could be easily removed, Aizen wouldn't have needed to use the Sokyoku to extract it.

This situation was well within Su Jin's expectations, but he wanted to see if he could use the power of his divine status to extract it.

However, the Dimensional Forum seemed to offer him an unexpected surprise.

Thinking of this, Su Jin accessed the Dimensional Forum to read the information about the Hōgyoku and saw the enhancement process initiated by the forum.

Hōgyoku (Enhanced Version)

- Step One: Eliminate the Hōgyoku's self-awareness and make the host's consciousness dominant.

- Step Two: Remove the Hōgyoku's requirement for the host's belief.

- Step Three: Enhance the power to guide potential.

- Step Four: Improve the regenerative ability granted by the Hōgyoku.

- Step Five: Eliminate the Hōgyoku's excessive influence on negative emotions.

- Step Six: Restrict the Hōgyoku's wide-ranging interference ability, making its activation depend on the host's main will.

Seeing this, a thought flashed through Su Jin's mind: I hit the jackpot!!

The so-called Hōgyoku, researched by Aizen and Kisuke Urahara, was a "wish machine" created by extracting a massive number of Shinigami souls and fusing them with the power of the Soul King.

Its primary function is to guide the host's potential to achieve their desired development.

Simply put, if Su Jin wants to ascend to the level of a four-digit entity and knows the method, the Hōgyoku can make it happen.

Moreover, it will rapidly complete the evolution process in a short time, bringing the desire to fruition.

Of course, this comes with a prerequisite: Su Jin must have the potential to become a four-digit entity. If he has the potential and the strength to support the evolution, the Hōgyoku can fast-track the process, achieving it directly.

Therefore, the Hōgyoku's power depends significantly on the host's strength. For instance, Aizen knew how to transcend the limits of a Shinigami and reached the critical point. After forcing the Hōgyoku to recognize him, he achieved transcendence.

As such, the Hōgyoku can be seen as a shortcut for the strong!

Fortunately, Su Jin doesn't need to undergo the same troublesome process as Aizen, who had to repeatedly operate and teeter on the edge of life and death to fully subdue the Hōgyoku.

Nor does he need to worry about the Hōgyoku amplifying any slight self-doubt, leading to failure.

This aspect is actually crucial. Aizen ultimately lost to Ichigo Kurosaki because Ichigo made Aizen doubt himself.

When Aizen had even a sliver of doubt that he might lose to Ichigo, the Hōgyoku, being quite treacherous, made it a reality.

Similarly, when Aizen doubted Urahara's ability to seal him, the Hōgyoku guided Urahara's power and truly sealed Aizen.

Although Aizen survived thanks to the Hōgyoku's regenerative capabilities, its negative effects were also revealed.

However, these negative effects were entirely removed by the Dimensional Forum.

'Just this Hōgyoku alone is worth the price of this traversal ticket, everything else is pure gain!'

Even Su Jin couldn't help but feel genuine joy at obtaining the Hōgyoku.

At the same time, he realized that the Dimensional Forum still had many functions waiting for him to explore.

For instance, this time, if he hadn't been curious and touched Rukia Kuchiki, he might have missed out on this enhanced Hōgyoku.

This Hōgyoku, strengthened by the Dimensional Forum, is effective for him as a five-digit entity and even provides significant benefits to four-digit entities. It's likely on a higher dimensional level than the complete Hōgyoku Aizen is plotting to create.

The perfect Hōgyoku Aizen aims to make might be effective for five-digit entities but not necessarily for four-digit entities. However, the one in his possession works effectively even for four-digit entities.

What does this signify?

It means that the path to a three-digit entity for Su Jin is smooth!

Suppressing his excitement, Su Jin realized that his prolonged silence might have made Rukia Kuchiki suspicious. Quickly regaining his composure, he turned his gaze back to her.

Simultaneously, he withdrew his hand from Rukia's head.

"…Why?"

Rukia looked at Su Jin, her face pale. The suffocating feeling from a moment ago made her feel as if she had seen the real death god.

Yet, at that crucial moment, Su Jin stopped.

"You wanted the thing inside me, didn't you?" Rukia couldn't help but ask.

"If I take that thing, you would die."

Su Jin chuckled lightly and turned around, saying:

"Besides, I have something better. So taking the thing inside you isn't necessary."

"And I have no interest in killing a stranger."

Rukia was stunned.

Meanwhile, Su Jin had already started walking, laughing as he said:

"One more thing, the thing inside you was placed there by Kisuke Urahara himself."

Hearing this, Rukia's face turned even paler.

At that moment, Orihime Inoue looked at Rukia, then at Su Jin, thought for a moment, and bowed slightly to Rukia before turning to follow Su Jin.

Only Rukia remained in the Penitence Tower, her expression complex.

Outside the Penitence Tower

Orihime Inoue quickly caught up, matching Su Jin's pace and finally breathing a sigh of relief.

Without turning his head, Su Jin said:

"I am surprised you chose to follow me."

Taking a deep breath, Orihime Inoue replied seriously:

"I think you need me more."

Su Jin paused in surprise and said:

"Our relationship shouldn't warrant you making this choice."

Hearing this, Orihime said earnestly:

"If what you said about the Soul Society is true, then its very existence is the reason for my choice."

She paused, her voice tinged with pain:

"My deceased brother was recently sent to the Soul Society."

"I thought it was the best outcome."

"I see." Su Jin understood. Orihime, thinking her brother would find happiness in the Soul Society, was now pained to realize he entered a larger abyss. No wonder she felt so tormented.

Perhaps Orihime's reason for coming to the Soul Society was partly to check on her brother's afterlife.

Clearly, Su Jin shattered that fantasy.

Sighing, Su Jin said:

"Getting involved in this might kill you."

"But isn't living in ignorance more painful?" Orihime retorted.

"Interesting, you are an intriguing woman."

Su Jin laughed and said:

"In that case, stay with me for now."

"Okay."

Orihime nodded and then, adjusting her mindset, jokingly said:

"Since we are comrades now, I have a small request. Can you grant it?"

"Speak." Su Jin smiled.

"Can I see your true face?" Orihime asked cautiously, curious about Su Jin's appearance beneath Ishida Uryū's guise.

"Unfortunately, no," Su Jin said cheerfully.

"Ah, why not?" Orihime protested.

"I never said I agreed to it," Su Jin teased. Before Orihime could protest further, he continued:

"Alright, get some rest. Tomorrow, I'll show you a good show."

"Eh?" Orihime's curiosity was piqued.

Next morning, in the Fifth Division headquarters

In the corridor between two buildings, Hinamori Momo, carrying a stack of documents and having patrolled all night, looked tiredly at her childhood friend beside her and said:

"Tōshirō, don't you have work in your Tenth Division? I almost got scared seeing you suddenly at the intersection."

"I left the work to Rangiku," said the youthful-faced Hitsugaya Tōshirō, carrying his Zanpakutō indifferently.

"Matsumoto's vice-captain sure is hardworking," Hinamori Momo replied awkwardly.

At this moment, Hitsugaya Tōshirō, walking beside her, frowned slightly and said:

"Hinamori, I followed Captain Ichimaru here last night."

"Captain Ichimaru of the Third Division? Why would you follow him to the Fifth Division? And why were you tracking Captain Ichimaru, Tōshirō?" Hinamori Momo asked in surprise.

"I…" Hitsugaya Tōshirō started to speak but stopped.

A drop of blood fell from the air, landing between their gazes.

Drip—!

The blood splattered on the ground.

"Is it raining?" Hinamori Momo asked in surprise, slowly looking up, her pupils dilating.

In front of them, below the third-floor window of a large pavilion, Sōsuke Aizen hung with a noose around his neck, a Zanpakutō piercing his heart, pinning him there.

Rustle.

The documents scattered as Hinamori Momo clutched her head, crying out:

"Captain—"
