"Come on, do you think marriage is going to be that easy?" Xiao Yuqian laughed, not wanting to get married so soon. "Even if I'm okay with it, your father might not agree."

"You don't have to worry about that. I'll go talk to my dad," Ma Haodong said.

Xiao Yuqian sighed. "It's still too early to talk about this."

"It's not early at all. At least we can get engaged first."

The reason Ma Haodong was in such a hurry was that he didn't felt safe enough about their relationship. As long as he and Xiao Yuqian got engaged, then things would be better for him.

Because of that, Ma Haodong even went back to meet with his father.
