Why would he run off in the very direction where something dangerous is happening? I know he wants to help but taking risks like this is reckless. I knew I couldn't let him go alone but I had to be smart about this. We need to let someone else know what was happening. As I ran down the stairs after him I dialed the Chief because it was the only sane thing to do in this situation.
"Hello, who am I speaking with," I heard the voice on the other line said. I tried to explain the situation to her as I kept pace with Presley who was further ahead. During a blackout, the place was really quiet so I had to keep my voice down for both our safety.
"Ok Mitchum, I understand the situation. I'm on my way now so you and Presley should keep your distance from this as much as possible. Blackouts are no time to take matters into your own hands." I heard her respond as the siren turned on her side of the phone call.
