Chương 40: Chapter 40: Hell No!
"Yeah, I guess. I am Justin by the way" he said with a smile. "Amelia," I said simply. "Well, in that case, Amelia would you like me to walk you home?" he asked. I hesitated. How to tell an uber-hot college guy that you are somewhat interested but you have three kids? "Well, we don‟t know each other that well…" I said diplomatically.
"So? We can get to know each other on the way" I was still reluctant. I guess that if once we got to my apartment, and he saw the kids I would have a good judge of character. "Ok, sure." On the walk back to my apartment we talked about meaningless things, like our favorite color and out of Superman and Batman who the best was.
I thought about how to bring up the triplets but I mentally froze every time I went to say it. We were at the entrance to my apartment building when Justin grabbed my arm to pull me to a stop. "What‟s up? I asked curiously "I was wondering what it is that you have been trying to tell me?" he asked "Oh" was all I said.
"Well, ok. The thing is that I think I like you and that hasn't happened to me for a while, and I have never had to tell someone this because apart from my little circle I am a loner; a huge loner."
"Well… are you a murderer?"
"Hell No!" I yelled "Well then it cannot be that bad. And for what it is worth, I like you too, so it is going to be hard to get rid of me.
Fate has thrown us together, literally, twice in one day" he said the last bit cockily. I smiled nervously. "Ok, I am a mom," I said quickly.
He just stared at me for a minute, "You have a kid?" I fidgeted, "Well, I have three kids" I saw his face lose all color, "Triplets". "Holy F**k! Um… I am just going to sit for a moment" he said shakily, sitting on the front steps to my place. I looked at him worriedly. At least he didn't run away, I thought. Well, At least not yet. It took Justin a few minutes to calm down.
I could tell that my news had shocked him. I took that as a good thing; not looking like the whore I think of myself as. I sat down next to him and put my arm around his shoulders. He turned and looked at me with a weak smile. "So three kids huh? How did that happen? When? What are their names?" he rambled.
I smiled and pulled him into a hug while sitting on the steps. He hugged back and we broke apart, both of us smiling. He kissed my cheek gently and turned his body to face me. "You aren't too freaked out? You aren't‟t going to run away scared and screaming?" I asked hesitantly.
He looked at me smiling and shaking his head. I smiled and turned to face him. "Ok, do you want the whole story or the cliff notes?" I asked, "Just give me the cliff notes for now; we can get through the whole story in lots of details later, okay?"
"Okay. Well I have three kids, they are just over two years old" I looked at him to see how he was coping, and I was shocked to see him listening intently and smiling encouragingly, "I have two girls called Mae and Ava and A little boy called Adam. I was seventeen when I got pregnant. I didn't even realize that I had intimacy, so the doctor saying I was pregnant was interesting" I laughed at the memory, "I thought that she was mad"
"Hang on… how could you not know that you had mingled with someone without knowing, just think about there could've been something you remember? I frown, I mean I mean you were seventeen… most kids know what sex is at that age" he asked confused. I laughed thinking about how stupid it sounded.
