After learning about the existence of Devil Worshippers, Xavier felt a surge of shock and realization that this world was far more complex and dangerous than he had ever imagined. He resolved to tread cautiously and quietly, focusing on his growth and becoming stronger to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
As the principal concluded his speech and departed from the ground, the students engaged in discussions among themselves. The topic of their conversation centered around City B, which had made headlines three years ago due to a devastating event. Initially, it was believed to be the work of the devils, but now, with the revelation of Devil Worshippers, they were shaken to learn the truth. The revelation left them fearful, realizing that these sinister individuals might be hidden among them, disguised as ordinary people.
The atmosphere among the students became somber as they grasped the gravity of the situation. The trust they had in their surroundings was now tinged with suspicion and uncertainty.
After some time, the principal returned to the stage accompanied by a military personnel, identified as Captain Jonathan. Together, they addressed the students gathered before them.
"Hello, everyone. I am Captain Jonathan, and I will be your mentor throughout your time at the facility," he introduced himself with a reassuring smile.
Captain Jonathan led the students towards the school gate, where four buses were waiting, surrounded by military personnel and their vehicles, ensuring the safety and security of the convoy.
As the students boarded the bus in an orderly manner, Xavier noticed that students from other schools were also present in other buses.
With everyone seated, the convoy set off, leaving the school gate behind, and embarking on a journey towards the secret facility. The students' hearts were filled with a mix of anticipation and apprehension as they wondered what lay ahead for them in this new chapter of their lives.
Xavier glanced out of the window, watching the scenery pass by.
As the bus continued its journey through the outskirts of the mountains, Captain Jonathan's voice echoed through the speaker, announcing their imminent arrival at the secret facility in half an hour. But before he could finish his sentence, a sudden and loud explosion startled everyone on the bus. Fear and uncertainty gripped their hearts as they wondered what had just happened.
Within moments, another voice broke through the chaos, indicating that they were under attack. The tension in the air escalated as Captain Jonathan's commanding voice urged the military personnel to prepare for battle. Xavier and the other students sat nervously in their seats, trying to comprehend the situation unfolding around them.
Thoughts of devil worshippers and their sinister intentions raced through Xavier's mind, raising the possibility that this attack might be their doing. Amid the chaos, he could see the military personnel swiftly mobilizing, ready to defend the convoy.
Beside him, Alex expressed his fear and unease, seeking reassurance from Xavier. "Don't worry, Alex," Xavier replied, trying to maintain a sense of calm. "Captain Jonathan and the military will handle this. Just stay low and trust that we'll be safe."
The sounds of fighting outside intensified, creating an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty inside the bus. The students were gripped by panic, and Xavier could see the worry and distress etched on their faces. He too felt a sense of unease, realizing that his journey as a Tower Runner had taken an unexpected and perilous turn.
As the cries for help echoed from the bus behind them, Xavier's heart sank. The situation was rapidly deteriorating, and the fear in the students' voices was palpable. It was a stark reminder of the danger they all faced, and the realization that their lives were at stake sent shivers down Xavier's spine.
He glanced at Alex, who had visibly wet his pants in fright. The sight struck a chord with Xavier, reflecting the immense pressure and terror that engulfed them all.
