Chương 72: Celadon City
Having nursed his Pokémon back to health at the Pokémon Center, Xavier resumed his journey along Route 8. As he progressed, the path eventually led him to an unexpected obstacle. The way forward appeared to be blocked, leaving him with no choice but to explore other options. Seeking a solution, he entered a small cottage situated in the northwest, which turned out to be an underground passage leading to Route 7.
Navigating through the subterranean path, Xavier eventually emerged back into the open air, finding himself on Route 7. Continuing his trek, he pressed on, the landscape shifting around him. His persistence paid off when, after a stretch of travel, he beheld a sprawling city on the horizon – none other than Celadon City itself. The towering structures and bustling streets painted a vibrant scene, marking his arrival in a metropolis teeming with opportunities and challenges.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, Xavier made the choice to postpone his mission until the following day. With this in mind, he secured a room at the local Pokémon Center and settled in for the night, anticipation swirling within him.
As dawn broke, he was ready to embark on his next challenge. Xavier strode purposefully into the Game Corner, a bustling hub of activity and amusement. Bright lights illuminated rows of slot machines and game stations, their chiming sounds creating an energetic atmosphere. The air buzzed with excitement as trainers and visitors tested their luck and skills on various games.
Xavier headed straight for a poster on the wall, concealing his true intent. With a swift motion, he ripped the poster away, unveiling a concealed button. As his fingers pressed against it, a previously hidden staircase materialized beside him, leading deeper underground.
While proceeding through this secret entrance, Xavier took a moment to review his mission progress. The second task had been successfully completed, but he was determined to go further. His suspicions urged him to face all the Team Rocket members within their hideout, sensing that this additional endeavor could potentially unravel hidden mission.
The entrance to the Team Rocket hideout was anything but a typical basement. Xavier descended the staircase into a well-lit, sprawling network of passages and rooms. The walls were adorned with the emblem of Team Rocket, and the air was thick with tension. He knew that danger lurked around every corner, and his resolve hardened.
As he ventured further, the echoes of his footsteps reverberated off the walls. The first Team Rocket grunt confronted him with a menacing grin, and a Rattata by his side. Xavier's Primeape was first to step into the fray. The Team Rocket member issued a sinister command, and Rattata lunged forward with a Quick Attack. Primeape sidestepped the attack, its muscles coiled with anticipation.
"Primeape, Low Kick!" Xavier commanded. Primeape's foot swept through the air with agility, striking Rattata's legs. The rodent Pokémon stumbled, and before it could regain its footing, Primeape's Cross Chop came crashing down, ending the battle swiftly.
As he moved deeper into the hideout, Xavier encountered another Team Rocket grunt . By his side was an Arbok, a venomous serpent ready to strike. Xavier's Primeape was quick to respond. With a swift Low Kick, Primeape knocked Arbok off balance, creating an opening for its Cross Chop. The powerful move hit Arbok square on, swiftly ending the battle.
Continuing his exploration, Xavier confronted another grunt, this time accompanied by a Koffing.He sent out Alakazam to take on the challenge. Alakazam's Thunder Punch crackled with electrical energy as it struck Koffing, causing a resounding explosion. Koffing's noxious fumes were no match for Alakazam's Psychic abilities, and the battle concluded with a powerful Teleport followed by a precise Psycho Cut.
