Chương 52: Bill's House
After Primeape's battle and evolution, it also managed to learn the move Cross Chop upon leveling up. To make room for this new powerful move, Xavier decided to have Primeape forget Tackle and learn Cross Chop instead.
With one task completed, Xavier found himself with the rest of the day ahead of him. He stood at a crossroads, torn between heading to Vermilion City or making his way to Bill's house, located at the end of Route 25, just north of Cerulean City.
Xavier was aware that in the original game, Bill would reward players with the S.S. Anne Ticket for helping him. However, in the current context of needing to infiltrate the S.S. Anne, the ticket was no longer necessary.
His only concern was whether helping Bill might reveal a hidden mission. To be on the safe side, he decided to pay a visit to Bill's house before proceeding to Route 25.
After a journey of about 30 minutes, Xavier finally arrived at Bill's house. Without hesitation, he entered the house .
On entering his house , he saw various scientific gadgets and equipment. He spots Clefairy near a table, engrossed in some work.
Bill (inside Clefairy's body): (in Clefairy's voice) Oh my goodness, this isn't good at all!
[ Xavier knew what was exactly going on here ! So he just played along ! After all, Bill would speak just as he was pre-programmed to, like all the other NPCs and talking out of the context won't get him any replies . ]
Xavier: What's going on here?
Bill (inside Clefairy's body): (sighs) I can explain. It's a bit complicated, but it seems my consciousness somehow ended up in Clefairy's body.
Xavier blinks in surprise, trying to make sense of the situation.
Xavier: (amazed) Are you saying you're Bill?
Bill (inside Clefairy's body): Yes, that's right. I'm Bill, trapped in Clefairy's body.
Xavier: (sympathetic) That sounds like quite the predicament. Is there any way to reverse this?
Bill (inside Clefairy's body): There might be. I've been working on a way to get back into my own body, but I need some help.
Xavier: (curious) What can I do to assist?
Bill (inside Clefairy's body): I need an item called the DNA Transceiver. It's stored in my PC . If you can fetch it for me, we might be able to use it to reverse this situation.
Xavier then retrieves the DNA Transceiver from Bill's PC .
Xavier: (holding the item) I managed to get the DNA Transceiver. What's the plan now?
Bill (inside Clefairy's body): (excited) Great! Just place it on the table here. If my theory is correct, using this device might allow us to separate our consciousnesses.
Xavier places the DNA Transceiver on the table as instructed. Bill (inside Clefairy's body) starts working with the device.
Bill (inside Clefairy's body): (focused) Stand near the device, if you will. Let's activate it and see if we can undo this.
Xavier stands near the table, watching as Bill activates the DNA Transceiver. A soft glow envelops both of them for a moment, and then the light fades.
Xavier: (looking around) Did it work?
As the light fades, Bill (inside Clefairy's body) suddenly separates from Clefairy, appearing next to Xavier.
Bill: (relieved) It worked! I'm back in my own body. Thank you for your help.
Xavier: No problem at all. I'm just glad I could assist.
Bill: (smiles) This experience has reminded me that the world of science and Pokémon is full of surprises. I really appreciate your help.
Xavier: (nodding) It's been quite an adventure, that's for sure.
Subsequently, Bill handed him the S.S. Anne ticket, prompting Xavier to exit his residence and head directly to the Pokémon Center to rest for the remainder of the day.
