"Good morning, Rina!"
In the early morning, Rex emerged from the tent. The sun had risen, casting its light through the branches onto the earth, creating a sprinkle of light.
"Good morning, Rex!"
At this moment, Rina appeared very gentle, as if yesterday's events had never happened.
After Rex finished washing up, he found that Rina had already prepared breakfast. It was a sandwich with jam in the middle, giving a refreshing and slightly sweet taste, perfect for breakfast.
After breakfast, the two arrived at a grassy area by the river. The terrain here was relatively flat, and there were no trees around, making it suitable for Pokémon battles.
"Let's begin our match. Come out, Ninetales!"
"Come out, Poliwag!"
Almost simultaneously, both released their Pokémon. Rex didn't expect Rina's first Pokémon to be Ninetales. His first Pokémon was Poliwag, which had the advantage in terms of type.
"Ninetales, use Ember!"
"Poliwag, counter with Water Gun!"
Since Poliwag often used Water Gun to water the fruit trees on Rex's farm, it was more skilled in using Water Gun than Ninetales was in using Ember. Its Water Gun directly dispersed Ninetales's Ember and then charged towards Ninetales.
If Ninetales hadn't acted swiftly and jumped to dodge the attack, it might have been unable to withstand the Water Gun and lost its ability to battle.
"Darn it, Ninetales, use Quick Attack!"
Through this skill clash, Rina realized that her Ninetales might not be able to compete with Rex's Poliwag. However, she wasn't the type to give up easily.
"Poliwag, use Slap!"
As Ninetales charged towards Poliwag, Poliwag jumped and used its tail fin to slap Ninetales heavily, sending it flying.
"Ninetales, are you okay?"
Rina struggled to get up while asking her Ninetales.
In the end, Ninetales managed to stand up on its own, but judging by its heavy panting, it had sustained considerable injuries.
"Ninetales, use Fire Spin!"
"Poliwag, use Bubble Beam!"
Although surrounded by Fire Spin, Poliwag's Bubble Beam pierced through the flames. This time, Ninetales couldn't avoid it and was directly hit by the Bubble Beam, rendering it unable to battle.
"Return, Ninetales. Rest well!"
Rina saw that Ninetales had lost its ability to battle and recalled it into its Poké Ball.
"Go, Breloom!"
Next, Rina released her second Pokémon, Breloom, a Grass- and Fighting-type Pokémon, which could counter Poliwag's Water type.
At this point, Rex could choose whether to change Pokémon. However, after consulting Poliwag's opinion, he chose to continue with Poliwag.
"Breloom, use Mach Punch!"
Seeing that Rex didn't change Pokémon, Rina directly ordered Breloom to use its skill.
"Poliwag, use Mud Shot!"
Unfortunately, before Poliwag could use its skill, Breloom was already in front of it, and with a powerful Mach Punch, it sent Poliwag flying.
"Poliwag, can you still battle?"
Rex asked the heavily injured Poliwag.
"Poliwag, Poli!"
Upon hearing Rex's question, Poliwag's eyes became determined. Suddenly, a white light enveloped Poliwag.
"It's evolving! Poliwag is evolving!"
Upon seeing this scene, Rex exclaimed happily.
Soon, the white light dissipated, revealing a fully evolved Poliwhirl in front of them.
"Now, let the battle continue! Poliwhirl, use Double Slap!"
After Poliwag had completed its evolution, Rex resumed the battle.
"Breloom, charge and use Brick Break!"
Upon hearing the trainer's command, Poliwhirl and Breloom engaged in close combat. However, Poliwhirl had just evolved and was not very familiar with its new form. After inflicting some damage on Breloom, it was knocked back by Breloom's Brick Break move. This time, it couldn't get back up, losing its ability to battle.
"Come back, Poliwhirl, rest well!"
Rex recalled Poliwhirl. It wasn't the time for healing now; she could only let it rest inside the Poké Ball for the time being.
"Go, Mareep!"
Rex's second Pokémon of choice was the shiny Mareep.
"Breloom, charge forward and use Mach Punch!"
Rina directly commanded the move she had used against Poliwhirl.
"Mareep, use Cotton Guard!"
Rex knew that with Mareep's speed, it couldn't evade Breloom's attacks, so she chose to use Cotton Guard to significantly increase its defense.
As it turned out, for Pokémon with a lot of fur like Mareep, the Cotton Guard move greatly increased its defensive capabilities.
Breloom's Mach Punch hit the expanded fur of Mareep, mostly blocked by the thick wool, causing only minor damage.
"Breloom, use Brick Break to break through Mareep's defense!"
Seeing that Mach Punch didn't achieve much success, Rina directly commanded.
However, just as Breloom was about to continue its attack, a faint electric spark appeared on its body, and then it felt unable to move. This was caused by the shiny Mareep's Static ability.
Originally, the Static ability only had a certain probability of taking effect. However, just now, the shiny Mareep used Cotton Guard to expand its fur.
And within the fur of the shiny Mareep, there was already a large amount of static electricity stored. When Breloom used Mach Punch to attack just now, its entire body was trapped in the shiny Mareep's fur, greatly increasing the probability of triggering the Static ability.
"Mareep, use Charge!"
Rex wouldn't let this opportunity pass by, directly allowing the shiny Mareep to enhance itself.
"Breloom, show your determination, use Brick Break!"
Upon learning that Breloom was paralyzed, Rina also felt somewhat tricky, but now she could only hope that Breloom would break free from paralysis by itself.
Encouraged by Rina's words, Breloom also tried hard to overcome its paralysis and used the Brick Break move. Unfortunately, just as it used Brick Break, it was paralyzed by the static on its body again and had to interrupt the move.
"Mareep, use Discharge!"
While Breloom was still struggling with its paralysis, the shiny Mareep had already finished enhancing itself. Then, under Rex's command, it used the Discharge move, which directly caused Breloom to lose its ability to battle.
After witnessing this scene, Rina directly recalled Breloom using a Poké Ball.
"Go, my ace!"
Rina's last Pokémon was her starter Pokémon, Grovyle.
"Come back, Mareep!"
"Come out, Heracross!"
Rex directly recalled the shiny Mareep, intending to have Heracross face Grovyle in a fair showdown.
"Let's have our final showdown in a fair manner!"
Rex said to Rina.
"Let's do it!"
Rina also wanted to see if her Grovyle could defeat Rex's Heracross, so she didn't object!
"Heracross, use Pin Missile!"
"Grovyle, use Bullet Seed!"
As the commands were issued by both trainers, the clash of their skills kicked off the battle.
"Heracross, charge forward and use Brick Break!"
"Grovyle, use Leaf Blade to counter!"
As the trainers issued their commands, the two Pokémon clashed like two duelists, quickly engaging in multiple exchanges. After several rounds of fighting, both sides tacitly backed off, gasping for air. This indicated that their strengths were evenly matched, and neither could overpower the other.
