Chương 61: Chapter 61: My Written Test Can't Be That Strange

"Mr. Armin, you seem to be in a good mood today," Heath asked with a smile as he looked at Mr. Armin in front of him.

Farfetch'd looked up curiously at the human before him. It couldn't see anything strange about this human; his expression was just like any other human's, with no notable differences.

"Heh, my daughter finally got into Indigo High School and has become an excellent student!" Mr. Armin smiled even more happily, his expression as joyful as if his child had become the League Champion.

Heath was momentarily stunned but then also smiled. He was well aware of Indigo High School, which had the lowest acceptance rate and the highest success rate among all the schools in the Indigo League.

Getting into Indigo High School practically guaranteed a high probability of being admitted to the top-tier academy in the Indigo League, Indigo University, a school located on the Indigo Plateau.

Students of Indigo University were the elite, and the campus was adjacent to the Indigo League headquarters. Students could use their ID cards to visit all publicly accessible League facilities for free, and they could even watch the Indigo League and Master Tournaments without charge.

It was akin to someone in his previous life boasting that their child had gotten into Tsinghua or Peking University as the top student in their province—a genuinely joyous occasion.

"That's amazing, Mr. Armin. Your daughter is definitely going to be an outstanding person in the future," Heath said with a smile, making Mr. Armin even happier.

Mr. Armin quickly bought his jianbing and left cheerfully, while Heath, smiling, pocketed the money.

"Trainer, is that Indigo High School really that impressive? If you get into it, can you become an outstanding person?" Zorua asked curiously, having never heard of the school.

"It's indeed very impressive. It's the top high school on this continent," Heath nodded. He had once wanted to attend such a school, but it hadn't worked out. However, he was content with his current life.

"But saying that getting into that school guarantees becoming an outstanding person is a bit of an overstatement. I've never believed that academic credentials are the measure of a person's character," Heath added with a shrug.

If this world used academic credentials to measure a person's character, then Heath would definitely be considered a scoundrel. Fortunately, this world didn't work that way.

"Oh," Zorua nodded, half-understanding. Heath didn't say much more; it was too much to expect a Pokémon to grasp these concepts. Perhaps Alakazam or Kadabra would enjoy discussing such matters with him.

Heath glanced at the sky over Viridian City. The current storyline probably hadn't advanced much; Mewtwo hadn't been born yet. These leisurely days made Heath quite comfortable.

As the lunch rush approached, Heath got busy once again. After the rush, he needed to head to the driving school.

"I hope today's trip to the driving school goes smoothly. I don't want to be chased by a Chansey again," Heath took a deep breath. However, knowing that Nurse Snow was probably still at the Pokémon Center, he felt more relaxed.

The journey was smooth, and Heath arrived at the driving school without incident. Just as he got off the bus, he saw a large truck speeding toward him.

"Holy crap!" Heath was dumbfounded. What kind of grudge was this?

Or maybe, after coming to the Pokémon world, he was destined to be summoned to another world as a hero to save it?

Heath instinctively started running to the side, but before he could take a few steps, the truck drifted and skidded to a stop in the space right next to him, narrowly missing him by a meter.

Heath stared blankly at the scene. He felt like he might have bad luck with this driving school—every visit brought trouble. He wondered if these guys were doing it on purpose.

"Hey, isn't this Heath?" Just as Heath was about to see who the driver was, Jana jumped out of the truck.

"Jana?" Heath looked at her in surprise. Was she the one who did that drift?

"What's the matter? Feeling a little unsettled seeing your big sis?" Jana teased with a smile, pinching Heath's cheek.

"No, I'm not feeling that way at all," Heath quickly waved his hands. If he didn't refuse, who knew what this old trickster might do.

Jana opened her arms for a hug, even puffing out her chest. However, Heath immediately turned and walked away. He knew her too well; if he stood there awkwardly, she would definitely push the boundaries.

"Hmph, little Heath is so cold," Jana said indignantly from behind him. But perhaps remembering Maple's punishment yesterday, she didn't dare do anything.

Heath nervously made his way to the classroom where he had studied last time and sat down to continue reading his book. Kadabra wasn't there this time; Heath figured Kadabra might have already finished the written test.

"This book is so thick. Even using Kadabra's study methods, it'll take a long time to learn," Heath sighed, placing Zorua from his head onto a chair beside him.

Seeing Zorua disguised as a Caterpie, the girl next to them silently shifted a few seats away from Heath and Zorua.

Heath noticed this but didn't mind, continuing to study his book. After a while, a teacher came in to explain some difficult points in the test questions.

Heath listened attentively. Although it was boring, he endured it for the sake of being able to drive on his own travels.

"Alright, let's talk about this point," the teacher said, drawing a picture on the board of a cartoon Dugtrio with a prohibition symbol over it.

"Can any of the attentive students tell us what to do when encountering this sign on the road?" the teacher asked with a smile. Heath scratched his chin. He hadn't seen this image before. Could it be in the traffic knowledge section at the back of the textbook?

"Well, for starters, we can rule out 'No Dugtrio allowed to drive.' Dugtrio can't drive a car," Heath thought to himself.
