Heath stared blankly at the Larvitar in front of him. The name Larvitar might not be familiar to everyone, but its evolution, Tyranitar, is well-known, a pseudo-legendary Pokémon.
Tyranitar, a Pokémon of immense strength, has always been popular for battles and collections due to its powerful abilities and ease of use. With a base stat total of 600, it reaches the upper limit for ordinary Pokémon, and its Mega Evolution boasts a total of 700. Such a high stat total is impressive, making Heath all the more curious about why Brock had this Pokémon.
"Looks impressive," Heath marveled at the Larvitar, recalling that it needed to consume an entire mountain to evolve. Larvitar is known for its enormous appetite, requiring large quantities of unique food sources like soil and rocks.
"Of course, but it eats so much it's bankrupting me," Brock said, sighing. Upon further questioning, Heath learned some specifics about Larvitar.
Larvitar indeed eats a lot, primarily consuming soil and rocks. Its evolution requires an enormous energy accumulation, eventually allowing it to become Pupitar and then evolve into Tyranitar. However, Larvitar's massive consumption also means it excretes a lot, but this creates new small hills, a natural balance to its consumption.
Yes, Pokémon, like all creatures, have bodily functions. Don't ask how Heath knows this.
When Heath first transmigrated, he hadn't considered whether Pokémon used the bathroom. That changed when he made some popsicles, and Arcanine overindulged. The next day, Heath almost had to swim through a sea of filth in his dorm, nearly vomiting from the stench. Cleaning up earned him a beating from Sister Maple, making him think he might report to the underworld.
From that day, Heath learned a valuable lesson: the larger the Pokémon, the larger the mess. He also discovered that Arcanine couldn't handle ice, as it caused severe diarrhea.
"What's so expensive about feeding Larvitar? It eats soil," Heath said, waving a bun in front of Larvitar, who looked at him with a pitying expression.
Heath sighed and ate the bun himself. Clearly, Larvitar was picky, only eating soil.
"My dad said I wouldn't get a penny from him anymore. As a Gym Leader, I won't have a salary for ten years. He even bought a mountain for Larvitar's growth," Brock sighed. His squinted eyes made his expression somewhat comical.
Heath looked at Brock sympathetically. No wonder Brock later traveled with Ash, likely due to being an unpaid Gym Leader.
"But Tyranitar is incredibly strong," Heath reassured Brock. Without encouragement, this unfortunate kid might give up his Gym Leader position.
After some comforting words, Brock left with Larvitar, who was hungry again.
Heath watched Larvitar, who was only 0.6 meters tall but weighed 72 kilograms. When it evolved into Tyranitar, it would weigh up to 200 kilograms.
"Thankfully, my Pokémon don't eat much," Heath said, looking at his two Pokémon with relief.
If he had captured a big eater, his plans to save money for travel would be delayed. Fortunately, Farfetch'd and Zorua had small appetites. Zorua, in particular, could be satisfied with just one mushroom bun, making it easy to feed.
"Oh, my friend, I can tell my foolish brother that your food is the best I've ever tasted," came a familiar voice. Heath didn't need to look up to know who it was.
"Mr. Alakazam, what would you like to eat today?" Heath asked, looking up at the Alakazam.
"Little Heath, your way of speaking is always so amusing. Why can't you appreciate the beauty of words?" Alakazam chuckled, his mustache twitching. Heath rolled his eyes, not wanting to mimic Alakazam's strange speaking style.
Just as Heath was about to say something, Alakazam sighed and a large package appeared in his hands, only to disappear again before Heath could see what it was.
"You know how it is, my friend. These damned superiors always have urgent requests," Alakazam shrugged and then mysteriously produced a small bottle, handing it to Heath.
Heath looked at Alakazam skeptically. If he didn't know Alakazam was a Alakazam, he might think it was some sort of head enlarging potion. After serving Alakazam previously, Heath had received a head enlarging potion, which he found useless and stored in his cart.
Heath considered selling it to Alakazam since Alakazam believed that a larger head meant more intelligence. He once saw a world record where an incredibly powerful Alakazam had an enormous head.
"What is this, Mr. Alakazam?" Heath asked, examining the bottle containing some red liquid.
"Ah, little Heath doesn't know either. This is stalactite milk," Alakazam said, waving his spoon.
Heath was puzzled. What was stalactite milk? After Alakazam's explanation, Heath understood it was a liquid formed by water dripping from special stones in caves over many years. This small bottle took nearly a century to accumulate, discovered by Alakazam during a cave exploration.
Heath's mouth twitched. Was Alakazam planning to use this for cooking?
"This is a gift for you, little Heath. I sense you will soon embark on your journey, right?" Alakazam said, winking at Heath.
Heath was stunned for a moment, then burst into a joyful laugh.
