Chương 8: Galen's Theory!

Galen, Gavin, and Gwen went to the counter to speak to the receptionist. This woman had short brown hair and green eyes, she was chewing gum and smacking at that!

"Excuse me, I would like to buy three ferry tickets to Cinnabar Island," Galen spoke politely despite the annoying chewing sounds.

"Oh, you want to take a ferry to Cinnabar Island? Sorry, but because of the weather, no ferries will going to Cinnabar Island."

"What? Because of some rain?" Galen sighed in disappointment."

"This is the rainy and stormy season. There was also a report today that the bird of legend Zapdos seemed to be hanging around the South Sea."

Galen was surprised, why would Zapdos hang around the South Sea? Zapdos could cause a rainy season to become a rainy stormy season, or it was drawn by naturally occurring super thunderstorms.

"What about the three-person cruise special?" Galen wondered if the special was off the table or not.

"This has been postponed until traveling is safe. Unless you're a trainer, fisherman, or some affiliate of the League, you shouldn't be on the waters."

The woman went on to explain everyone would start again on June 1. At that time, they would continue the special.

The family could only leave the building in disappointment. They had been in Pallet all of their lives and this has never happened.

"It's okay, we can wait until the first of June. Four days after, we will all turn fifteen and then we can figure things out from there."

Gwen wasn't too disappointed about the ferry, it would happen sooner or later.

"It's okay, you guys go home. I need to do something really quick before heading back." Galen needed to get that fish tank, so he could treat Magikarp properly.

"Actually, I need to grab more groceries, so me and Gavin will be heading there." Gwen smiled and pulled Gavin away.

Afterward, they went their separate ways. Galen quickly arrived back at that store and discovered something better as he walked around.

"Hehe, this is way better. It is best to buy this 500-gallon aquarium pool rather than a fish tank. I can just place all three of the Pokémon into it instead of letting them sit in the inventory."

Galen also bought a frame tent because this aquarium was going outside. This was to prevent rainwater from going to the aquarium. Nothing bad would happen if rainwater flowed into the tank; Galen just didn't want it to overflow and flood.

He talked to the man at the counter because he wanted these things shipped to his house. For one, they were too big to carry out of the store, and two, Galen couldn't store them in front of people.

This place had cameras and people obviously had eyes.

The aquarium cost Galen 700 Pokédollars and the Frame tent was 240 Pokédollars. However, with the discount, he paid ₽420 and ₽144 instead.

"Wait, I also want those waterproof L.E.D lights!" Galen pointed behind the counter where they sat on the shelves.

These L.E.Ds were similar to the ones in his world—where you could control the lighting color with a remote.

However, Galen chose to buy the remote flush mount ceiling lights. They were waterproof and could stick to the bottom and wall of the aquarium.

"Would you like the two-pack, four-pack, or six-pack?" The store clerk asked.

"Give me the six-pack. I'll take that to go, please." Galen smiled and said.

"There will be an upcharge for having it delivered. Do you want it delivered today? If so, we can deliver it in an hour flat if you live in Pallet."

Galen confirmed this before the man told him to write down his address. After the man saw it, he was stunned because this was a remote location. He checked it on the computer, but he knew exactly where it was.

"Alright! We will deliver it to your house within an hour. Here's your receipt, you have a nice day."

He asked for some Proteins, Carbos, Iron, HP-Up, Zinc, and Calcium. For each one of these, they cost one-hundred-fifty per one.

Galen bought ten of each drink, so he paid a staggering 9,000 Pokédollars. This was an item that couldn't be discounted since it wasn't something the store owed.

Galen thanked the man before exiting the store with a satisfied expression. There was nothing more for Galen to do in town, so he went back home.

Once he was home, Galen checked his goods.

"If I remembered correctly, I needed to use a machine to teach Pokémon TMs." This was the same when it came to aptitude, one could simply use a machine to check.

However, it was going to cost money, but nothing too crazy.

Galen suddenly thought of something and pulled out a Pokéball, Greatball, Diveball, and Netball.

"I knew my eyes didn't deceive me." Galen's eyes focused on the Diveball, which had a concentration of deep blue aura in the center of it.

When he looked at the Pokéball, he didn't see any aura from the Pokéball or the Greatball. However, this wasn't the same for the Netball.

The Netball had a green aura spot, a blue aura spot, a red aura spot, and a lime green aura spot.

What did this all mean?

Galen knew this was aura because he could feel it, but what role did this play?

He could see a thin line of green aura converging onto the blue aura and circling it; as if it was restraining it. This was the same for the red aura, as there was a line coming from it and restraining the lime green aura signature.

"This blue aura, I've seen something similar on Staryu, Krabby, Shellder, and Magikarp." Galen pondered before summoning Staryu.

Hiya!

"Come here, little fella." Galen picked Staryu up and sat it on the desk.

He stared intensely at Staryu while using his ability. And indeed, Galen could see that same deep blue aura on Staryu.

Staryu felt strange, what was going on with its new trainer?

Galen reached out and touched Staryu to see if he could manipulate this aura.

"Oh, my god!" Galen was actually able to pull some of the aura off of Staryu's body!

He wielded the blue aura in his hand in amazement, before staring back at Staryu with wide eyes.

"Are you alright?" Galen asked with concern. He hoped that by doing this it wouldn't affect Staryu.

Hiya!

Staryu jumped up and spun around, indicating that it was okay.

"Perfect." Right as Galen said this, the aura in his hand dissipated.

"Could it be that these special balls were created by auramasters?" In theory, this might not be an impossibility.

These balls were exclusively sold at the Pokémon Alliance branches, or needed to be ordered. These Pokéballs were the types of reliable balls that truly got the job done the majority of the time.

If you want to catch a water or bug type with a near hundred percent chance—then buy a Netball.

The green signature likely represented the grass-type aura. At least, this was Galen's speculation and hunch.

"There are tests that need to be run before jumping to conclusions, but if it's true..." A cunning grin appeared across Galen's lips. Perhaps he could create and design his own line of Pokéballs and place them on the market.

Galen could manipulate aura on a small scale and this scaling of control was small. He could create balls that could catch exclusive Pokémon at a high rate similar to the Netball and Duskball.

"I hope this theory is true, then I'll have a chance to grow rich!" Galen's eyes emitted a strange light of joy at the thought.

Time passes quickly when you're having fun or feeling joy, so things go by in a hurry. Right then, there was a knock at the door.

The people showed up and Galen had them bring these items to the back. These weren't things people could carry alone.

"You're Galen, right?" The burly uniformed man asked.

"Yes."

"Sign here..." Galen signed some paper for confirmation.

After the men placed all of the boxes in the back, Galen offered to pay them three hundred Pokédollars each if they set it up.

The five men immediately agreed, after all, this was three hundred Pokédollars! The men quickly got to work, they checked the instruction booklet first.

Within forty minutes flat, they had set up the frame tent and portable fish tank. They were easily able to set up the frame tent because there were multiple guys.

The frame tent was built over the portable fish tank pool for obvious reasons. After placing the light inside, they were done.

Galen paid them all the amount he promised and they left with smiles.

"Incredible! This tank can hold five hundred gallons of water. I wonder if I can store this thing." Galen accessed the system and tried to store the tank and was successful!

"Hahaha! This will be something I can take with me on my journey, how convenient!" This was perfect for Galen, now he could travel and camp conveniently in the wild with it.

"We have an underground well pump instead of a water pump that is attached to the house." Galen inspected the fish tank pool, where on one side there was a clear thick glass pane.

This would allow Galen to see any activity in the pool from the side instead of looking directly inside. Galen grabbed a water hose and attached it to the well pump before placing the hose into the tank.

He ran into the house and grabbed his bags full of goods he had bought.

Then he summoned Shellder, Staryu, and Krabby before instructing them to fill the pool. He also helped by constantly pressing and pumping the well lever to fill the pool.

All three Pokémon cooperated and proceeded to fill the pool.

"This is fairly laborious work, huh? Thank goodness I didn't fix up the aquarium pool, or I would have been too tired."

Galen had finally finished filling the aquarium before he fell to the ground with exhausted arms.

"Oh, my arms! I think I have a cramp!" Galen sat for a moment and rested before pulling out the remote to check the lights.

Red, orange, yellow... It was a beautiful sight. Galen decided to use a cyan color which suited the water.

Staryu and Shellder were really tempted to jump into the water—especially Shellder. Galen then summoned Magikarp into the water.

Karp... Karp!

"Oh, man, we got some work to do." The strange bronze color was throwing Galen off.

Galen fed Magikarp some food before giving it one of each energy drink. He also put Five bottles of water conditioning inside the tank.

This not only kept the water clean but also helped Magikarp with its current state. It was some kind of medicinal liquid that could help internal and external problems.

"They say the results should start to show in a week or two. At least, that is what the bottle says, I hope it's true." Galen recalled Krabby and Shellder but allowed Staryu to lie inside at the bottom.

He would allow Shellder in later, but not for now. As for Krabby, Galen was a little iffy about letting it in a tank with Magikarp. After all, crabs ate fish back in his world, so what could really change in this one?

Staryu and Starmie are filter-feeders and feed on plankton. They were still capable of consuming Poffins, berries, and other such sweets; their gem-like core would directly absorb the required nutrients on exposure.

'Staryu will be good for contributing to the fish tank's cleanliness.' Galen nodded and thought.

Feeling relieved, Galen went back into the house to grab a few things or Magikarp. That's when he heard Gwen and Gavin entering the house.
