29.41% Pokémon : A Rough Start In Kanto / Chapter 15: Brutal combatant

Chương 15: Brutal combatant

It's been 12 days since I picked up slowpoke and started training my Pokémon, and what a productive 12 days it was

Meowth picked up iron tail in just under 2 days, with slowpoke figuring it out nearly an hour after my feline pal..

The iron tail training was more to see if the anime way worked, and I know meowth and slowpoke didn't learn it almost instantly like pikachu did in the anime, but I chock that up more to do with plot armour than anything else…

After they successfully learned iron tail I decided to do a little more scavanging around the abandoned zone to find more useful shit and man, we found some decent stuff…

My room in the unfinished building is actually pretty homey now, I ended up finding some old brown shag rugs in some half melted workshop…they were a little dusty but they came good with a good beating..

I found an actual, honest to god working fridge in some old construction site break room trailer thing….I mean the hinges were ripped off it, but with a little hammering and tinkering I got the door back on it…and it works just fine after a clean!

I even found a few functional lamps WITH working lightbulbs!, so it really helps light up the room at night instead of sitting by fire or torch light…

And I finally got around to jerry rigging in some doors for the entrances, they aren't pretty, but they do make it so much warmer of a night time now the room actually can hold heat properly…

I managed to find a sofa in some old government reception room that looked like it took a hyper beam or two through sides and basically melted everything else….it's a nice sofa….it was dusty….but it cleaned up real good…meowth has claimed that as his bed..

And last but certainly not least in an old what looked like woodwork shop I found some wooden benches that now function as a kitchen bench to prepare food and stuff..

My room, which it's a bit of a stretch to call it a room as it's 80 feet squared but my "house" is now semi functional, and although it's a hodgepodge of different things that barely fit together, I love the place..Even if I have still have to do my dishes in the shower…but I'm probably going to be living here for a few years, some small comforts is necessary..

But i digress…

Training has really started to pick up after I found those sets of weights in ruined gym just down the road from my place..

That's a human gym, not Pokemon gym…but even still….I managed to lug the weights back and started using them for conditioning training the day after the pair finish iron tail training…

I had to tie the weights to them with rope harnesses but they didn't seem to mind how uncomfortable they were to much, meowth weighs I reckon between 15 to 20 kilograms, I don't know if that's what they normally weigh but that's what mine does..

I remember the Pokédex entry for meowth from the games only put meowth at just over a foot and a half on all fours and weighs like 5-6 kilo….but my big fella is pushing 3 foot and as I said….weighs a lot more than that…

So I don't know if he's an outlier or what…but my Tom cat has put on some bulk…for him to struggle even a little I had to throw 30kgs on his back with 5 on each leg..and I didn't forget to keep the tail strength training going even after, so another 5 on his tail…and he wears it while doing basic drills and dodging practice….which is me just throwing rocks at him…which also counts as attack training as sometimes I have him dodge the stone and sometimes I have him attack it with what I call out…I do it randomly to throw him s few curve balls, and doesn't he just throw himself into training with reckless abandon…he's able to train for hours on end with touch ups from heal pulse, which were needed further and further apart…

Slowpoke on the other hand…..he trains just as hard as meowth, but….only when I'm watching him like a hawk though, if I take my eyes off him for a second he would just find a place to nap…but I don't have much else to do but basic exercise and watch them train anyways…so he doesn't get many chances

I followed your typical training advice of most conditioning training anime and manga and had my Pokémon wearing weights in everything they do, barely taking them off except for showering and sleeping…

Even battling they wear the weights which slow them down immensely, and normally I wouldn't even dream of doing something like this in my particular situation, but heal pulse has got us covered…

We actually ran into that rattata pack that was attacking meowth when I first met him…and oh boy…were they cocky bunch when they saw meowth…which didn't last much longer than when the first iron tail brained the bigger rat into the ground with a resounding crack…meowth was faster even with his weights on now…. Hardcore training 10ish hours a day carrying more than double your body weight without having to rest due having an in-house healer to repair torn muscle was really showing results…

The other 3 tried to run but were lifted into the air by slowpoke, who I found out that day was a very brutal combatant… between the zen headbutt shattering a Rattatas skull to the iron tail that snapped ones back….all with that goofy expression on his face….god that was creepy…

But I'm starting to understand him a little better after spending all day, every day with him…when he's happy his tail wags VERY slowly, when when's upset or wants something he usually just stares at me until I guess what he wants…

I found that out when making cheap instant ramen in a cup one night….and as I sat down to eat it, he just sat at my feet and stared at me uncomfortably until I gave him some…and now every time he hears a ramen packet crinkle, he's at my feet…no matter where he was before, like some sort of ramen ghost..

Another thing I've discovered about slowpoke is, he's not very considerate with my personal space…he tends to like my sleeping bag better than the nest of blankets I've made for him…and at first I thought he just wanted to sleep next to me…but, no, he just wanted the sleeping bag…but I also wanted the sleeping bag….so we compromised and now i don't have a sleeping bag to sleep in anymore….it wasn't worth waking up to his breath every morning, and he just wouldn't take no for an answer, always sneaking in when I fell asleep, and he was too heavy to move once he's in, pretending be stay asleep when I try..

But training has been fruitful….very much so…but we have hit a bit of a major crisis, we are nearly out of food….slowpoke is a chonky boy in more than just name, he eats more than me and meowth combined..

I even set up 2 fishing rods while we train to catch extra food, and it's been pretty successful so far, haven't caught any more Carvanha, pretty much just magikarp and a few goldeen, but we have a VERY strictly rule about fishing…one that both my mons take very seriously…

If we pull in a magikarp….kill it right away, no playing with it, no just one more rep in whatever you're training….drop what ever you're doing and do everything in your power to end that things life….and if it starts glowing…FUCKING RUN!!

It's worked out pretty well so far, I've caught about 3 fish Pokémon on average a day, much to my mons delight….but they train so hard and burn so much energy it feels like it's a drop in the bucket…

So now I'm finally about to head back into town to use my last $900 on food and supplies while scope out of few places….

I intend to make a little money with burglary for awhile…. While I COULD head into town to the black market and pick up some work and make some money that way, I don't plan on going near that place until my mons are hardened fighters ready to take on anything a group of thugs might throw at me…

Because of course I'm probably going to be mugged in the black market…I'm 10…even if I wear a mask, I'm tiny, and people will see that and come to fuck with me….hence the burglary until my mons are power houses…

My first target is going to be that asshole and his poochyena who attacked me, and his store, I know for a fact he doesn't live in the store, which makes it a better target, and the fact he's a little shady means he probably has some good shit in the back as well…so I'll be checking that place out….in a disguise of course…

I mean, I know I stole from the guy, but I was just a kid and he had his little prick of a dog attack me…and I believe he probably would have killed me if it wasn't for that cop who seen him…so it's kind of personal…
