[Adrian's POV]
"Adrian, we need to talk about this."
"What's there to talk about?" Adrian sniffled as he stuffed clothes to his duffel bag, only for his mother to take them out back to his bed. Resentment had blocked any form of reasoning in his mind, and the tightness in his chest grew stronger the more he stayed longer in their house.
"Adrian, baby—"
"Mom, I am not a kid! Not anymore! I even have the right to vote! I just turned twenty-four today and thanks to you for inviting Rhia here, I just have the best, most unforgettable birthday ever! Happy fucking birthday to me!" Adrian scooped all the clothes his mother removed and hurled them back to the opening of his bag. With a frustrated cry, his knees gave in and he slumped to the floor, burying his face in the heap of clothes. "Just let me live my own life, please."
Welcome to a harsher adulting life, Adrian. :D
