"You don't understand a thing. That's the scent of manliness. The stronger the scent, the greater the charm," Kensei retorted forcefully.
"You two have some nerve to say that about us."
"Yeah, these two idiots, they were the loudest when arguing."
Shinji and Hiyori rejoiced in the chaos. Just moments ago, the two of them were playfully fighting, but now they stood on the sidelines, thoroughly enjoying the show. They might as well have grabbed some popcorn.
"Alright, everyone, let's calm down a bit. Instead of quarreling with each other, why not listen to me play an elegant piece of music?"
With his conspicuous golden long curly hair and dressed in medieval Western gentleman attire, Rōjūrō Ōtoribashi was elegantly playing his violin.
"This is great! It's my favorite part again!" Wearing goggles and an orange scarf, dressed as an alien, Mashiro Kuna laughed heartily, like a child weighing three hundred pounds.
"Oh, please, spare us. Don't add to the chaos right now," Love Aikawa sighed in exasperation as he rubbed his prominent spiky hair.
The entire warehouse was in disarray.
Of course, this was a typical day in the life of the Vizored group.
Ever since they were forced to defect from the Soul Society years ago, they had to abandon their former identities, straddling the line between Shinigami and Hollow, hiding in the human world as wanderers. Due to their hostility towards the Gotei 13, they didn't even want to acknowledge themselves as Shinigami. For decades, day and night, they had yearned for revenge.
"Alright, let's get back to the point." Seeing that the situation was spiraling out of control, Hiyori timely stepped in. "Shinji, you came back unusually late today. Did something unexpected happen in Karakura Town?"
Their years of understanding each other made her realize that things were not that simple.
As soon as Hiyori spoke those words, everyone tacitly stopped arguing and shifted their gaze to Shinji. The entire warehouse fell into silence.
Everyone was waiting for Shinji to speak, trying to unravel the truth of the matter.
Feeling the eyes of his comrades on him, Shinji collected his scattered thoughts and gradually became serious. "Indeed, it's the Day of Commemoration of the Hollowfication Incident. Today, while I was wandering around Karakura Town, something unexpected did indeed happen."
His words were like a torpedo, exploding into the hearts of everyone.
"Unexpected? Shinji, you better explain yourself. Our whereabouts haven't been exposed, have they?" Love Aikawa couldn't contain his anxiety, and his expression became as stern as a rock.
Ever since that night of Hollowfication when they were framed by Aizen, all the members of the Visored group had become Visored and were charged with serious crimes by the Central 46 Compound. They had to hide in the human world, fearing that their location would be exposed.
Even though decades had passed since those events, the Visored still bore a grudge. Over the years, their biggest concern had been the risk of their location being discovered!
"Love, calm down. No need to make such a fuss. I was referring to something else," Shinji casually scratched his ear. "I just happened to come across an interesting human being."
"What? Am I hearing this correctly? You're interested in a human being?" Lisa Yadomaru pushed up her golden glasses, and her sharp eyes sparkled.
"Do I have a reason to lie to you guys?" Shinji shrugged.
"No, it's just a human being. Why all the secrecy?" Hiyori frowned in dissatisfaction, thinking it was some kind of hidden secret.
"No, no, no, Hiyori, don't get so worked up. You see, Katsuki is not just any ordinary human."
Seeing that Hiyori was about to raise her fist again, Shinji quickly waved his hand to explain, "He not only has a high concentration of Reiatsu, but he can also kill a Hollow with a single punch."
"Say what? A human killing a Hollow with a single punch?"
Everyone exclaimed simultaneously.
"Do I need to lie to you guys?" Shinji shrugged helplessly. "Although I haven't known him for long, I can assure you that he's just an ordinary human, with no connection to Aizen or the Soul Society."
In Shinji's words, there was an air of certainty.
Clearly, he had high hopes for that human!
"Shinji, someone with the ability to kill a Hollow with a single punch, and you're saying his strength is close to that of an ordinary division member? How is that possible for a human?" Love expressed strong skepticism.
"You also find it incredible, right? That's why I rushed back to tell you this news immediately," Shinji eyes sparkled with excitement. "I talked to Katsuki in detail. He knows nothing about Shinigami or Hollows, as if he's a blank slate, with unlimited potential."
"Dumbass, I finally understand now. You intend to train this guy, Katsuki, don't you?" Hiyori rolled her eyes in disdain.
"Hiyori, I don't deny it," Shinji sighed helplessly. "Haven't you all been feeling that things are getting monotonous lately? I've started to get tired of these days."
"Shinji, I can understand how you feel."
Hiyori snorted arrogantly, her nostrils almost in the air. "But he's still a stranger. Bringing him to our base without caution will only increase the risk of exposure."
"Hiyori's right; we should be cautious," Kensei nodded.
"To be honest, we don't need to be so overly cautious. At least Shinji's intentions are not malicious," Rōjūrō, who had been silent all along, elegantly played with his curly hair as he said.
"I agree with him," Lisa Yadomaru put down her little yellow book. "I've been wanting to complain about you guys, these greasy old men, for a while now."
"Lisa, don't be so direct with your words. It hurts their self-esteem, even though they're indeed a bit pathetic!" Kensei leaned in like a rabbit and spoke into her ear without deliberately lowering his voice.
"Enough, you two fanatics!" Love Aikawa's hair was almost about to explode from anger. "What do you mean 'greasy old men'? We're fresh meat, okay?"
"Ugh, more like old meat!" Kensei stuck out his tongue.
"Alright, let's not argue about this," Shinji waved his hand to signify quiet. "Or should we vote to decide?"
"No need!"
Hiyori shook her head.
"I'll go with you tomorrow. If that guy can withstand my test, then we'll let him join us, Visored!"
