4.65% Peak Cultivator's Slice of Life / Chapter 1: Night Sky Progenitor

Chương 1: Night Sky Progenitor

In the infinite void, which was filled with countless Great Universes, a young figure that appeared to be only 17 years old with short white hair flew at an unimaginable speed, fleeing from the pursuit of 20 giant monsters that were each larger than the Great Universe.

The monsters were composed of various tribes, there was a snake with nine heads plus wings on its body, there was also a dog with extremely cold red eyes, to an eagle surrounded by a thousand typhoons.

To chase after the young man, the hundred monsters had to work together in a formation to increase their speed. Only then would they be able to keep up with the young man's speed.

Although their cultivation levels were both Progenitors, the young man was a Dao Progenitor who came from the Dao Cultivator group while the monsters were Monster Progenitors from the Void Monster Group who relied on their bloodlines.

This was peak cultivation in the infinite void but between Dao Progenitors and Monster Progenitors there was a difference in strength of up to one level.

This was because Dao Progenitors not only reached the peak of cultivation, but also understood the laws and essence of cultivation, which made them able to release greater and profound power with the same amount of energy, unlike the Monster Progenitors who only relied on the power within their blood to reach the peak of cultivation.

The average Dao Progenitor starts their cultivation as a weak human, passes through world after world, reaches the peak of the Universe before continuing in the Great Universe and then begins to try to understand the Dao of the Void that can survive in the infinite void so as to get out of the Great Universe. The culmination is to understand the Supreme Dao of Void like that young man achieved.

To achieve that, it really needs a very long journey. Even just to reach the peak in the Great Universe, it took up to a hundred cultivation breakthroughs. The most difficult part was of course jumping out of the Great Universe.

Out of the trillions of Great Universes, there were probably only about 1000 people from the Daoist Cultivator group who managed to make a breakthrough to the level of emptiness.

Among those 1000 Dao Cultivators, there were only seven who managed to become Progenitors, the majority of whom were stuck as True Void Masters and Universe Void Masters.

Due to the uniqueness of Dao Cultivators, most of them can actually easily advance to become Universe Void Masters so those who are still True Void Masters are only those who have only managed to become Void Masters.

This is because they can unite their Dao with their Great Universe which will make them evolve into Universe Void Masters.

However, their overall number is too small compared to the Void Monsters but they do have above-average combat power.

The good thing is that they are assisted by Bloodline Cultivators who number around 15,000 with around 30 Progenitors, called Bloodline Progenitors.

They were also from the Great Universe but their cultivation method was somewhat similar to the Void Monsters, both relying on the bloodline although they were closer to the Dao Cultivators.

The white-haired youth was the seventh person who managed to become a Progenitor among Dao Cultivators. Since he was a Dao Progenitor, it was certain that his strength had few competitors even among all Progenitors.

Unfortunately, in this infinite void, Dao Cultivators and Bloodline Cultivators were at a disadvantage as their numbers were too few compared to the Void Monsters.

The Void Monsters who possessed the Void Bloodline were the majority and they were hostile towards Dao Cultivators as they considered Dao Cultivators to be a great threat to them as their combat power was above theirs.

In addition, there is an inevitable conflict as they like to feed on the Great Universe while Dao Cultivators originated from there.

Dao Cultivators also too often harassed them early as they were enamored with their treasures.

That young man, who had the title of Night Sky Progenitor for example, had just infiltrated a Nest of Void Monsters and stolen something, which led to him being chased by 20 Monster Progenitors.

If he fought them one by one, he could practically kill each of them.

Unfortunately, they were 20 monsters and worked well together so he had to retreat.

His strength was still even with them despite their cooperation, but he was worried that there would be another group of Progenitor Monsters coming. That would definitely back him into a corner. After all, in this infinite void, there were more than 200 of them.

Although until now there had been no cases where a Dao Progenitor had been killed, it was better to be careful because it was said that the Monster Progenitors possessed extremely deadly treasures.

Of course, if a Dao Progenitor was really killed, it didn't mean he was really dead.

This was because Daoi Cultivators on average had many avatars after becoming a Void Master, something that Void Monsters or Bloodline Cultivators did not have. Some even have millions of avatars that are unfortunately so weak that they cannot fight.

Only one avatar can truly possess peak strength.

All Dao Cultivators naturally did not want their main avatars to die.

While they can create a new main avatar from one of their avatars, the main avatar usually holds many of their strongest treasures and weapons. If their main avatar died, they would practically lose a lot.

"Night Sky Progenitor, no matter where you go, we will continue to pursue you." The nine-headed snake suddenly shouted.

His voice was loud and terrifying, producing shockwaves that pushed the Great Universes around them.

The white-haired youth's name was Asher. Called out to be chased everywhere, he only smiled.

"Nine-Headed Progenitor, I'm afraid you won't be able to find me after I hide," Asher replied with a quiet laugh.

"Hmph, do you think you can hide in front of all of us?" replied the eagle surrounded by a thousand typhoons.

"I can keep track of you even if you hide in the dark," added the dog with red eyes.

"Hahaha, we'll see soon enough. Your olfactory ability has no depth, how could it compare to my Dao of Night," Asher replied.

The Dao of Night, of all the Daos, was the one he mastered the most and he managed to push it to the highest level along with the Dao of Sky and the Dao of Physique.

He then unified the three, resulting in the Night Sky Dao which is one of the Supreme Dao of Void.

Each Progenitor Dao had different specialties and when it came to hiding, he was the best so he could even infiltrate the headquarters of the Monsters of Void.

However, the monsters had locked onto his figure, so it was a little difficult for him to hide.

Of course, for him it was only a little difficult, not really difficult.

Currently, he was still without aura, yet his speed was even with those monsters when they formed a formation.

When he had just finished speaking, his eyes emitted a faint dark light while his veins turned black with the same dark light as his eyes so that they became clearly visible all over his body.

"Be careful, he's about to attack," the Nine-Headed Progenitor said as he saw the changes in her.

Even with the formation, he was still very wary of a Dao Progenitor's attack because it was the deadliest attack.

"We will advance..." Several monsters behind consisting of turtles and gorillas advanced and lined up, creating a wall of light that seemed impenetrable by anything.

It was so wide, even ten thousand Great Universes were smaller than that wall of light.

"The Dao Progenitor can't penetrate our defenses either," said the tortoise confidently.

However, Asher did not attack as they expected.

Instead, he punched forward. The movement seemed simple, not causing any ripples, but...

BANG!

The void ahead suddenly exploded, tearing the empty space so large that a hole appeared that looked like an abyss of death, extending from left to right.

Shockingly, from that hole suddenly emerged the figures of countless white-haired youths, reaching tens of thousands. They were exactly the same as Asher.

"What? Why are there so many of his avatars here?" The monsters were surprised.

"What use is it to him to summon those weak avatars? Does he think he can hide among his weak avatars that we can easily destroy?"

"Don't underestimate him, a Dao Progenitor always has unexpected ways."

"..."

Whoosh! Whoosh!

The weak avatars flew towards the monsters. They were a thousand times slower, but they seemed to only act as a wall.

Asher passed through them and continued to fly forward.

When they arrived in front of the monsters, the nine-headed snake snorted coldly.

"Die..." He shouted, spitting out a green venom similar to the ocean.

BANG! BANG!

The avatars exploded as they were hit by the venom, but as each of them exploded, they suddenly generated an enormous amount of darkness, instantly engulfing the monsters as the darkness seemed to have no boundaries.

"What? What is this?"

"What technique is this? I can't see anymore."

"Damn it, Typhoon Eagle, get rid of this darkness..."

Shua!

An enormous typhoon emerged from the center of the darkness, pushing the darkness away so that the monsters were finally freed.

However, they were stunned.

Asher who was originally in front of them suddenly disappeared.

"Disappeared? How is that possible?" They were all dumbfounded.

They really couldn't sense his existence anymore.

Their gazes fell on the dog with red eyes, as if asking if he still smelled his scent.

However, the dog also looked confused.

"He couldn't have gone far, but I really can't smell his scent anymore," he said.

"Damn, he really managed to hide."

"He must not be far from here, let's search, attack suspicious places."

Then, the monsters started searching.

They unhesitatingly destroyed the surrounding Great Universe if they thought anything was suspicious.

The thing Asher stole was too precious, they weren't willing to lose it.

Unfortunately, no matter how long they searched, they found no trace of him at all. He had completely disappeared.

A trillion years later, they finally gave up searching because they were getting bored.

Perhaps a trillion years seemed a very long time, but even for Peak Cultivators who had not yet left the Great Universe, it was a short time, let alone for Asher. He considered 1000 trillion years to be a not-so-long time.
