Chương 45: Hexagon Island
Riding on a boat. The five of us are here in the sea, going to the island.
"Just in twenty minutes we might reach the Hexagon Island.", Crystal said.
Hexagon Island is called like that because of its shape.
"I wonder, which side is good for relaxing.", Captain said while looking at the map.
"We're here for a mission."
"I know, I know. You just prioritize the mission while I'll handle the vacation."
"If there's a chance that we're going to vote who's going to be the leader, I'll vote for Crystal for sure.", Winter said.
"Same.", Luan said.
"Oh c'mon! Rest is important."
"If ever that happens, I'll give you a job with no rest."
"Geh!"
After waiting for a few minutes, we finally arrived.
"Okay! Time to find the spot!", Captain said who's about to leave.
"Where do you think you're going, Captain."
"Ehhh... but you four can handle this one right?"
"So you're planning to relax alone?"
"No..."
"Then let's go, it will be faster if you join us."
"Ugh..."
We leave our things on the boat and take only the things needed to fight Outsiders.
"So, what kind of Outsiders are here?", I asked.
"We didn't know yet. Based on Miss Altina, this island is uninhabitable. More likely, there's no human here before the Outsiders arrived. Miss Altina assigned us to eliminated Outsiders here before they do something else.", Crystal said.
"I see..."
We walk towards the forest.
The trees and the ground have so many marks of claws and bites.
"Are those Outsiders fighting?", Luan asked.
"Who knows."
"Shhhh.", Crystal stop us from walking.
We hear some noise behind the trees.
We silently walk and look behind it.
As we pop our heads, we saw a wolf Outsider eating something.
"Yuck."
We look at the creature it's eating, we couldn't identify what it was because the only thing left is its lower part body but from what it looks like, we are sure it was...
"An Outsider? Cannibalism?"
"I guess it's normal since there's no creature here aside from Outsider."
"Was that even okay?", Winter asked.
"Both yes and no, cannibalism is common for animals. It decreases the number of Outsiders but it also means controlling the population. The strong Outsiders will eat the weaker ones, but if this continues, they might wipe out in the end.", Crystal said.
"So, we have just to wait. Okay! Let's go now!", Captain said.
"No, this is Outsiders what are we talking about. We don't know what's the effect of cannibalism on them. What if the effect is different from what I said earlier?"
"Well... instead of waiting, why not we eliminated them all already? That's a lot faster, right?", Captain suggested.
"Yeah, that's a good decision."
"Okay! Kill that guy!"
"Captain you're too loud."
"Grrrr."
The Outsider spotted us.
"Woops."
The Outsider runs towards me.
I grab on my scythe and block its upcoming attack.
The Outsider uses its head to push me.
*So strong*
The Outsider is so strong that he managed to break the tree behind me.
"Guh!"
"Oi!"
The Outsider looks at Winter and runs towards her.
Some rocks are floating and move towards the Outsider.
The Outsider pays no mind to it.
Luan grabs a stone and throws it towards the Outsider.
The stone explodes causing the Outsider to stop running.
Crystal runs towards the Outsider while holding a cylinder shape object or some kind of sword handle made in the ice.
That object turns into an ice sword.
He slices the Outsider's neck but it's too quick.
The Outsider manages to lean back and stomp its feet on the ground causing dust smoke.
Crystal blocks his face and the Outsider took advantage of it by trying to bite him, but before that happens, a wave of flame runs towards the Outsider and burns it to crisp.
"That was close.", Captain said.
"Why you didn't help us in the first place?", Crystal asked.
"I'm just watching whether you can handle it or not."
"It's too strong."
"Maybe this is the effect of cannibalism."
"Yeah."
"We should be careful from now on."
"Grrrrr"
More Outsider appears.
"Oh my, there's more."
"Captain."
"What is it?"
"If someone badly injured here, we're going home straight. Got it?"
"Eh?!"
It seems like Crystal wants Captain to get serious.
"Okay! Let's burn them all!"
"She gets fired up."
"Just how strong her desire to go on vacation?"
"Forget about that, let's focus on this Outsiders first."
We're surrounded by wolf Outsiders.
Crystal created an ice wall around us, but even that, the Outsiders didn't hesitate to jump to the ice wall. They trying to destroy the wall to get us.
"Eat this you dogs."
Some ice spikes appear on the ice wall which kills some Outsiders.
"My turn!"
Captain cast flames to the Outsiders that stack on the ice wall. It burns some ice spikes but it grows again.
"Let's clean up the remaining ones."
The ice spikes extended which hits the Outsiders whose in distance.
All the Outsiders are now dead.
"Okay, let's find some more."
We continue walking around the forest.
We find some other Outsiders lurking around.
"How many did we kill already?", Captain asked.
"I don't know but we might already travel twenty-five percent of the island."
"Really?"
"Yeah, this island is very small that's why."
"I see, that mean we can finish this before the day ends?"
"Probably."
"Okay! Let's speed things up."
Captain raises her left arm.
"What are you going to do?", I asked.
"Hehe, watch."
"Captain. Not now."
"Eh?"
"I know what are you trying to do. I suggested we should do that if we already manage to walk around seventy percent of the island."
"Ehhhh... okay."
*What is she trying to do?*
We continue to walk again.
We didn't see anything aside from trees.
"Hey, can we just walk around near the sea?"
"Why?"
"Well... to find a spot?"
"Haaa... we won't able to find more Outsider there, Captain."
"Eh..."
*Whoosh*
A strong wind blows the leaves and dust around us.
"Woah!"
"It's kinda windy here."
"Yeah."
"Hey Luan, you might get slee-"
"Winter?"
"Luan... is gone?"
"Eh?"
"Tsk!"
Crystal cast ice on the ground.
He created a tall ice block.
"Look around."
We looks around and I saw something flying from a distance.
"Look."
"Hm?"
"What is that?"
"A bird?"
"Yeah, it looks like a bird and it carrying something."
"It must be Luan. Captain."
"Alright! I'm not gonna let that bird make Luan his lunch."
The fire appears on Captain's feet and hands.
She lower her body then jumps. She starts flying towards the bird.
"Let's go too.", Crystal said.
The ice that we're stepping on starts moving.
"Woah! We're surfing on the ground."
"It's not fast like Captain's but we might be able to get on time."
As we come closer, we clarify that the bird is huge.
It's larger than a human.
"Man, we could eat that for three days straight.", Winter said.
Captain has already reached the bird.
"What is doing?"
Instead of attacking, Captain just keeps following the bird.
"She might want to find the nest of the bird, let's just follow them."
We keep following them until we reach a huge mountain.
"Wait, I didn't see this when we were still on the boat."
"Me too."
The huge bird and Captain are nowhere to be seen.
"They might already be on the ground."
After we reach the mountain, we walk around to find Captain, thankfully the smoke that her flame produce is visible.
"Captain."
"Shhhh."
"What is it?", Crystal said quietly.
We're hiding behind a huge rock.
We took a look behind the rock and saw so many huge birds there.
"So many. Can we even defeat them?"
"Of course, I can burn their feathers."
"Let's not talk about that, we have to save Luan first."
"Yeah."
We look around and saw Luan on the ground.
"Wait, is he sleeping?"
"Still sleeping even though he's going to die huh."
"So, what are we going to do?", I asked.
"It depends on you guys.", Crystal said.
"It depends on us?"
"Yeah, whether to wanted to save Luan silently or fight the Outsiders while taking him."
"Let's go to the second option."
"Got it. Captain."
"Okay!"
Captain fly and landed in the middle of the Outsiders.
"Hey yo!"
Captain raises her left hand.
"Now!", Crystal shouted.
Crystal uses her ice to cover Luan.
When Captain put her left hand on the ground, the wave of flame spread around her.
While Luan is being covered with ice, the three of us hide behind the huge rock.
"So hot."
"Just keep hiding."
Crystal created a huge ice wall to cover us.
After a few seconds, Captain stopped. All of the Outsiders are burned to crisp.
"Wooh! That was easy.", She said.
"You almost burn us all."
"Sorry, my bad."
"How's Luan."
We look at Luan.
"Sleeping."
"Oi, wake up. You almost die you know."
"Hm?"
"Where am I?"
"We still on this island kid."
"Hm?"
*Whoosh*
A strong wind comes from behind us.
"What the?"
A huge bird appears.
It's bigger than the other ones.
"Is that their mother?"
"Oh my, it seems mad because I kill her children."
"Should we run?", Winter asked.
"Don't worry, I'll just burn this one like the others."
Captain cast flames towards the Outsider.
The Outsider spread its wings and waved it causing the flames to run back to us.
"Oh no."
Crystal created an ice wall to block the flames.
"That was close."
"Now what?"
The Outsider flies and moves towards us.
"Duck!"
All of us ducked.
The Outsider is so fast.
"Winter, Luan."
"Got it!"
"Okay!"
Luan touches anything near him.
Winter makes them float then throws it towards the Outsider.
It explodes when it hits the Outsider.
The Outsider falls on the ground.
"Freeze!"
The Outsider is surrounded by ice causing it not to move.
"Captain."
"Got it!"
Before Captain cast flames, the Outsider shouted.
"What's going on?"
The Outsider spin around causing the ice to break, after that, it dashes towards Crystal.
"Shi-"
I push Crystal and use my scythe to block the Outsider.
The Outsider moves its head upward tossing me up in the air.
"Woah!"
Thankfully, Captain is to the rescue.
She catches me.
"Thank you, Captain."
"You ready?"
"What do you mean by that?"
Captain lift me up.
"C-Captain?"
After that, she throws me down towards the Outsider.
"Captain!!!"
While in the air, I saw the others making the Outsider keep busy.
"I get it now."
As I go down, I spin around.
I cut off the Outsider's head as I landed.
"Way too go Hiro!", Captain shouted.
"I thought I was going to die there."
I fell on my knees.
"Now, now. You did a great job there."
"But I almost die."
"Didn't you almost die so many times in your first month?"
"I know, but that doesn't mean I really wanted to die."
"Don't worry, I have a backup plan just in case the plan failed."
"I am going to live if the plan failed?"
"Who knows."
"Looks like we already eliminate them all, let's down and search for more."
"Okay!"
We go down to the mountain.
We walk for hours and we didn't spot any Outsiders.
"We are they?", Winter asked.
"Maybe we should try the sides of this island.", Crystal suggested.
"Yehey!"
As we walk to the side of the island, we also didn't see any Outsiders here.
"Is there any left in the first place?"
"I don't know but let's just keep searching."
After a few minutes, our surroundings get fogged.
"What the hell is going on?"
"How can we even see Outsider with this fog."
"Let's go somewhere else."
We continue walking.
As time pass, my surround gets quieter.
"Hey, aren't you guys quie--"
I'm the only one left.
"Guys?"
*Where are they?*
"Hey!", I shouted.
I know I shouldn't have shouted but I have no choice.
I walk towards the place where we came from.
As I walk, I pass someone who's standing while looking at the sea.
"Hey, what are you doing here?", I asked.
Based on hair, it's a woman.
"Goh."
"Huh?"
"Goh."
"What are you saying?"
"Goh."
"Hey, can you look at me?"
The woman finally turns around.
My body froze when I saw the woman's face.
The woman's face is decayed and I almost can see the skulls.
"What the?"
After a sec, the woman look at me and shouted..."
"GYAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!"
