Chapter 75: Killing (VI)

The sound of a door being broken down echoed through the auction hall.

Everyone turned in the direction of the noise, including Hoyle, who craned his neck with difficulty.

When Hoyle saw the group entering, his bloodied face broke into a twisted smile.

"Hahahahaha! You're dead! You're finished now!" Hoyle cackled maniacally, his voice echoing through the room.

With his limbs broken and his position ruined, Hoyle had nothing left to lose. His only desire now was to see Charlotte destroyed.

"Kill him! Torture him to death! I don't care how, just make him suffer!" Hoyle screamed hoarsely, his face a grotesque mask of hatred.

Charlie, who had rushed in with Jiben and the others, froze at the sight of the mayor's broken body. He rubbed his eyes, thinking he might be seeing things.

But the voice was unmistakable—this was indeed Mayor Hoyle.

"Quickly! Save the mayor!" Charlie yelled, tugging at Jiben's sleeve.

Jiben, too, was stunned by what he saw. The once dignified mayor now lay crumpled on the ground, bloodied and broken. But what truly chilled Jiben to the bone was the figure standing on Hoyle's back—Charlotte.

Jiben's face went pale as memories of the "drunkard" he had delivered to the auction house flooded back. This was no ordinary slave; this was a monster.

Even so, Jiben tried to steady his nerves. Sixty men should be enough to handle one person, no matter how strong.

"Let's go, brothers! Save the mayor!" someone shouted from the back.

Encouraged, the mob surged forward, weapons in hand.

Charlotte, however, was unfazed. With a casual motion, he kicked Hoyle aside like a discarded toy.

Hoyle's body skidded across the blood-soaked floor, eliciting gasps from the onlookers.

Charlotte's lips curled into a bloodthirsty grin as he surveyed the approaching crowd.

"Good," he murmured. "More lambs for the slaughter."

With that, he launched himself into the mob, his fists flying like hammers.

Snap!

Charlotte's first punch shattered the ribcage of a man wielding a machete. The man crumpled to the ground, his chest caved in.

Without pausing, Charlotte spun and delivered a roundhouse kick to another attacker, sending him crashing into a group of his comrades.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Screams filled the hall as Charlotte tore through the mob like a storm. Blood sprayed the air, painting the walls and floor in crimson.

"Monster! Run! It's a monster!" someone screamed, dropping their weapon and fleeing.

As panic spread, the mob scattered, abandoning any pretense of fighting back.

Charlotte moved like a predator among prey, cutting off their escape with inhuman speed.

"Hahahahaha! You came here willingly, and now you want to leave? Not a chance!" Charlotte's voice rang out, cold and mocking.

His Conqueror's Haki flared again, pinning the fleeing men in place. They fell to the ground, clutching their chests as fear overwhelmed them.

One man managed to escape the Haki's range and darted toward an exit, only to be intercepted by Charlotte.

The man's screams were cut short as Charlotte's hand crushed his skull with a sickening crunch.

"Devil! He's a devil!" the survivors whimpered, trembling as Charlotte stalked among them.

The Red Earl watched from his perch on the auction stage, a bemused smile on his face. "The Blood Swordsman indeed," he murmured. "A fitting name for such a creature."

Meanwhile, Jiben had dropped to his knees, his earlier confidence replaced by abject terror.

"This… this is impossible," he whispered, his voice shaking.

The blood-soaked massacre continued, each death more brutal than the last. By the time Charlotte finished, the auction hall was eerily silent, save for the sound of blood dripping from his clothes.

Charlotte stood in the center of the room, his chest heaving. His once-golden hair was now matted with blood, and his eyes burned with a feral light.

Around him lay the broken bodies of his victims, the air thick with the metallic tang of blood.

The surviving nobles and staff huddled under tables and behind chairs, too afraid to move or speak.

Even Major General Wells, watching from the second-floor private room, was paralyzed with fear.

"Your Excellency…" the colonel stammered, his face pale.

Wells ignored him, his eyes fixed on Charlotte. The carnage below was unlike anything he had ever witnessed.

"This… this isn't human," Wells muttered, his hands trembling.

As the room descended into silence, Charlotte turned his gaze to Hoyle, who was still writhing on the ground.

With a single leap, Charlotte landed beside the mayor and grabbed him by the hair.

Hoyle's screams echoed through the hall as Charlotte dragged him to the center of the room.

"You wanted to sell me like a piece of meat," Charlotte growled. "Now, let's see how much you're worth."

Hoyle's pleas for mercy were drowned out by Charlotte's laughter—a sound that sent shivers down the spines of everyone who heard it.

The Blood Swordsman's rampage was far from over.
