Chương 20: (Chapter 17) Birthday and spirit
The old blacksmith walked down the dirt road, he seemed to be carrying a large long cloth that he strapped on his back
The sun set a few moments ago, he planned on setting out earlier in the day but overslept due to his fatigue
He entered through the gates as he could see the lights were on, there was also lots of noise coming from inside the estate
He soon knocks on the door before hearing shuffling on the other side as someone was trying to unlock the door
It soon opened to reveal a white-haired little girl, she hid behind the door before his friend opened the door fully
'Ah Masamune-chan I didn't expect to see you here, I thought you were busy forging that blade' Minamoto said as he assured him inside
'Oh what's this? Are you having a party without inviting me?' asked the old smith as he stroked his beard
'Nonsense Masamune-chan we just thought you were busy, but since your here what's the occasion for?' asked Minamoto
The old smith grinned, but before he could reveal his reason a voice came from the other side of the room 'Oh Masamune-san I didn't expect to see you here' said Kyoku as he walked in
He soon looked towards the large parcel on his back, and he smiled 'Ah is this your present for Ryu?' asked the man
The old smith blinked a few times before looking towards Minamoto 'Is there something special going on with Ryu today?' asked the man in a sheepish tone
Minamoto chuckled 'It's his birthday today but I expected as much since we didn't inform you, again we are very sorry for not doing so' replied Minamoto
'Ah! I see then this is perfect' He said while grinning maniacally, then a new voice came from the other side
'Oh it's you Masamune-san I haven't seen you in such a long time It was Rika as she held her little bundle of sunshine
Marco just laughed as he saw the old man, 'Oh Rika-chan what a lovely surprise, I presume this little one is yours?' said the smith
She just nodded before gesturing for them to follow her, they came to the sight of Ryu opening the white-haired girl's gift
It was a white kimono with black stripes decorating it, he smiled and thanked Sora before someone Daichi told him to open his
'Hohoho, Ryu-chan looks so happy, I wonder how he will react when I give him mine' said Masamune as he grinned while stroking his beard
A few moments go by and it's time for Hisho to present her gift, 'Here you go Ryu-chan' she said as she gave him a neatly wrapped slim white box
He smiled widely before slowly unwrapping the ribbon, he soon opened the box to see a pair of hanafuda earrings
He soon let go of the gift before hugging his mother 'Thank you Ka-san, I appreciate the gift' he said as his mother patted his head
Next was his grandfather, he gifted him a large red haori that were 4 sizes too large as he explained that he would grow into it eventually
Next was Kyoku-sama as he presented him with a pair of adamantine Daggers, Ryu smiled and bowed respectfully towards the leader
Lastly, it was time for Masamune to gift Ryu, He walked up to him before sitting in front of him and pulling down the cloth that was covering the blade
He soon revealed a large katana, Its scabbard was pure white as it's as well as it's handle, but the most eye-catching part was the black and white hilt that looked like a flame
That's what a normal person would think but the people In the room were anything but normal, both gasped as Kyoku's and Minamoto's eyes widened to what they sensed.
Both the blades on their sides started to violently spasm, 'This... It can't be' thought Kyoku as he looked at the sword
Masamune handed the blade to Ryu as he grinned, 'It's your Ryu-chan, Take good care of it as it's my finest creation he said with a grin
Ryu was stunned at his words, "Finest creation? Wait grandfather's sword is one of the 21 great-grade swords how come this is his finest creation unless it's one itself?!' he thought before he bowed gratefully in front of the old man
'Thank you very much Masamune-san, You don't know how much this means to me' said Ryu as the smith chuckled
'Hoho young one don't be so modest now unsheath it' He said with a shit-eating grin as he looked towards the boy
Ryu took a deep breath before he unsheathed the blade, The first thing he noticed was that the blade was completely normal but right as he raised it it started changing
From the tip of the blade, it started changing its colour to pure black, as it finally reached down he sensed a calm warm aura coming from the blade itself
He looked towards his grandfather only to see him slack-jawed as he started towards the weapon in his hands
He looked towards the blade before feeling something tugging on him, he closed his eyes before opening them again
He was no longer in the room, but was in a field of flowers, he soon turned his head only to see a beautiful dark-haired woman sitting on an oak tree In the middle of the field
She uttered the words 'It's nice to meet you Ryu-sama' before he blinked again and was back inside his bedroom
He blinked a few times and saw his new blade on a stand a few meters away from his futon
He shook his head before walking towards the door of his room as he muttered under his breath 'I rounder who she was'
