Chương 28: Invasion
After the crowd must have dispersed, Abison glared at Yu Chen.
Suddenly he sneered.
"Do you really think that I'd believe that you've spared me?"
Yu Chen raised a brow. "Why not? I can't spare you?"
"You might stab me in the back when I relaxes..."
Yu Chen laughed and he let his guard down.
"Listen, I could have killed you if I really wanted to... There is actually no need for a brawl. You've seen my strength for yourself. However, I wanted to see the level of your own strength."
Abison was suddenly curious.
"Did you really awaken through death?"
Yu Chen did not hide anything. "Yes... I died, however I became death instead... You can call it some sort of legend or whatever, I can still remember the pain I felt while dying."
Abison glared at Yu Chen some more.
"Meaning that you actually took I and Miguel's idea, right! We did not mean bad..."
Yu Chen's eyes suddenly turned cold.
"You both clearly wanted me to die so stop acting. I followed master's idea... She did not think that I'd follow it, she even had no idea that I had awakened until the day she wanted to kill me..."
Abison's brows furrowed.
"Yes, I killed her!"
Abison's pupils shrank instantly. "You killed Master?" His expression changed from shock to anger and then dread.
"You... Chen! Did you know what I lost because you killed Master? She was supposed to teach me an ultimate technique and now you killed her..."
Yu Chen rolled his eyes.
"Master wanted to kill me. If I did not kill her, she would have killed me, no doubt. It doesn't matter, I can take you as a disciple. I've taken her place as one of the Seven Saint of Dukkha..."
Abison was suddenly startled.
"What?"
Yu Chen got upset. "Why is it so surprising to you. I killed her, who else do you think would take her place?"
Yu Chen immediately changed the topic.
"You were there when Otek told me about the dangers in the underworld..."
Abison rolled his eyes. "You're actually bringing this up again?"
"Yes, I have to. It's for humanity's sake! And that's why I did not kill you."
Abison suddenly turned hardheaded. "And you think I'll believe that you'd be able to kill me..."
Yu Chen froze for a while.
'Sigh... this guy.'
Yu Chen's eyes suddenly grew cold.
He vanished and appeared before Abison.
Abison was prepared and he defended himself, but then Abison witnessed something strange, his defense suddenly faded and a terrifying chill spread through Abison's body.
He step sided and an unimaginable power caused space to dissolve...
Abison's eyes widened.
How on earth did he forget that this person killed Master?
A disciple killing his own master is uncalled for, but when a master have decided to kill the disciple and ended up been killed, the disciple is no longer at fault and would not be questioned... Abison had wanted to raise an alarm about him been the murderer of the Saint of Purity, but he realized that if Yu Chen is already one of the Seven Saints of Dukkha, then the Saints already knew that he is the cause of the Saint of Purity's death.
Abison glared at Yu Chen's cold eyes.
"Do not dare underestimate me again. I purposely missed the target, next time I won't miss. Do not push me!"
Abison immediately surrendered.
All of a sudden, a Gate suddenly manifested in front of Yu Chen and Abison, whatever they had been saying earlier was placed on hold and their entire person screamed of danger.
They both glared at the manifesting Gate with caution...
Abison stared at Yu Chen and Yu Chen stared back. They returned their gazes towards the gate...
They both saw Miasma leak out and Abison retreated instantly but Yu Chen stayed put.
Miasma was his energy, it could harm another cultivator that comes close but definitely not him.
The Miasma turned into tendrils and then vanished in a flash. It neared Yu Chen with the aim to consume him whole but, to it's shock, the Miasma energy was absorbed right into Yu Chen's body.
All of the Miasma that lingered on the gateway, drifted towards Yu Chen, being absorbed and consumed by him... It was only after the gate manifested that all of the Miasma was retracted...
Whoever it is seem to be pale. Yu Chen had absorbed such a good number.
His originally 2,000 Miasma became a whooping sum of 17,000.
While Death Energy seem very overbearing even to the cultivator, Miasma did not harm it's cultivator... Yu Chen was given free access to absorb all the Miasma that he could.
Suddenly Otek dashed out of the Gate and it started to Vanish in a whirlwind of Miasma energy which Yu Chen continued to absorb...
Otek was stunned to see Yu Chen absorbing the Miasma, and he stared at him with a strange gaze.
"So, that was you?"
Yu Chen laughed nonetheless. But then, seeing the pale expression on Otek's face, Yu Chen became serious.
"What's the situation?"
"The demons are invading the real world. They had a meeting yesterday and revealed that they had a traitor amongst them which is why they did not reveal the day of invasion. Chen, by what I can see, it's going to get bloody soon. Humanity is no longer safe."
Yu Chen was suddenly contemplating.
"How is the time in the underworld?"
Otek thought about it slowly and responded, "a year in the underworld is equivalent to ten years in the human world. Time is slow in the underworld meaning that a day in the underworld is ten days in human world."
Yu Chen sighed.
"Will I be able to ascend before the invasion?"
Otek was surprised again.
"You've awakened?"
Yu Chen nodded. And suddenly, Otek smiled brightly...
"Let's go 1V1."
Abison glared at Otek and said: "1 versus 1? Don't regret it Otek." Abison was still as arrogant as ever and Otek did not understand what he meant by that...
However Yu Chen wasn't in the mood for spars. The imminent danger that is about befalling humanity is of his utmost concern.
"You've not answered my question Otek!" Yu Chen demanded.
