In front of the window was a pot of green ivy, its leaves plump and bursting with vitality.
Two old desks were pushed together in front of the ivy. In the middle, there were piles of books, and an old-fashioned desktop computer with a sticker of Haier Brothers on the back of the tower.
In the corner of the desk, there was a half-bald broom and a dustpan with a crack in it.
That morning, the sunlight was bright, making the green of the ivy even more lush.
Jiang Yuan arrived at the office, pulled out his chair, sat down, started the computer, and while waiting for it to boot up, he poured himself some water and also gave a bit to the ivy.

Jiang Yuan took a step forward, then noticed that the deceased's neck was twisted, revealing a bloody, mangled hole, and a face… profoundly familiar.
