He refused to believe it, no matter what.
"Concealing your identity behind a mask won't fool me. Let me see who you are! How audacious!"
As he spoke, Danzo's left hand swiftly removed the mask from Chiba's face.
"Eh? Chiba?"
Danzo trembled at the sight of the person's face.
In haste, he hastily placed the mask back on Chiba's face.
"Ahem, my earlier actions were rash, right? Go!"
Danzo's demeanor had suddenly softened, completely devoid of the previous coldness and ruthlessness.
"Come, take Chiba to the hut."
He instructed a clan member to escort Chiba.
As Chiba left with the clan member, Danzo let out a sigh of relief.
"It's a good thing I prevented him from speaking. Otherwise..."
Standing in place, Danzo muttered to himself.
"Wait!"
Suddenly, Danzo was taken aback as memories of the previous meeting room scene flooded his mind.
As the Hokage's assistant, Danzo was no fool.
Though he had opposed Homura in the meeting room, it didn't mean he disagreed with the other's speculation.
"A commoner who managed to defeat Rosa in just a few days. This kind of talent—and he doesn't have that odor..."
The more he pondered, the more satisfied Danzo became. This is the perfect talent for Root.
Thus, Danzo stood at the gate, patiently waiting.
He intended to recruit Chiba into the ranks of Root. Soon, just as Chiba finished collecting the waste and was about to leave the gate, he found Danzo standing in front of him.
"Chiba~~ Are you interested in joining my Root organization?"
Danzo wore a broad smile on his face, his tone filled with warmth.
Chiba was deeply moved by the inviting gesture from Danzo.

"Father!"
Wearing a simple short jacket, Asuma arrived at the doorway of the room.
"Come with me."
After giving his son a glance, Hiruzen spoke softly and walked out of the room at a leisurely pace.
Father and son strolled through the courtyard, creating a heartwarming scene.
"Asuma! Now that you've become a chunin, it's time for you to venture out and gain experience."
"Yes, father!"
Though Asuma was still a teenager, he appeared mature, and his tone carried a sense of respect.
"The daimyo of the capital city sent me a letter, stating that they are in need of guards! Prepare yourself today and leave tomorrow!"
"Yes, Father!"
"Very well! I will arrange for someone to ensure your safety throughout the journey."
Just as Sarutobi Hiruzen spoke those words, a masked young man entered the courtyard through the gate.
Unintentionally, the father and son's gazes met.
