Chương 7: A Mother's Lament

[Rina Kurama's POV] {Time Skip 1.5 years}

"Mom, I am heading out to Ichiraku with Gai Sensei, " says Rei as he shunshinns out via the window.

I swear to God, at this point, I am pretty sure that he shunshinns more than he walks. I made a mistake letting him learn that jutsu, that, and the transformation jutsu. I seriously do not understand his obsession with turning into a frog and sleeping near the tap.

Sure he claims that it "makes my meditation session more effective" but I know that he knows that everyone in this household knows that that's horseshit.

Secondly how in the absolute hell does my little monster even transform into an anatomically perfect frog and effortlessly maintain the said transformation?

Sure I made sure to make him memorize said frog's anatomy (which took him a single look at the chart to do so, perfect recall my ass.) in order for him to learn the Mystical Palm Technique. (Which I playfully went along with not actually expecting my damn hellion to actually cast after 12 frogs. I went through 1050 even though I graduated my class with exceptional chakra control, That in perspective is 3 months of training and I was hailed a genius. This little shit managed to successfully perform the Jutsu after an hour and a half of practice. What have I been doing with my life?) but it still takes an insane amount of control, constant memorization, and adaptation toward said animal physiology to even get such a transformation right.

Furthermore keeping said transformation is extremely taxing on the body and when I ask him how he is even maintaining said transformation he has the nerve to say "I am built different".

Honestly, sometimes I feel like Chakra just loves him the way things are going. Hell, I am pretty sure that if there is some sort of prophecy that requires some chosen one it's probably my little genius.

Now if being a ninjutsu genius is not enough he decided to go ahead and become a taijutsu and turned out to be a born genjutsu genius with that little nifty Kekkai genkai of his.

Hell, he outgrew our clan's taijutsu since it was not compatible with him anymore as his body no longer shared the Kurama clan trait of somewhat feeble bodies compared to other shinobis in exchange for prodigious amounts of genjutsu talent by LITERALLY BREATHING.

I KID YOU NOT HE BREATHED THE PROBLEM AWAY. Honestly, after that, I just tuned out the rest of the bullshit he cooks up and took a page from Takumi's way of life, to simply go with the flow.

Over the years I have somehow come to terms with the fact that instead of giving birth to a normal cute little gremlin I gave birth to an inhuman training machine.

Honestly, when he came back home asking for permission to train taijutsu with the Green beast of Konoha I was not even surprised as I hypothesized that training freaks seem to attract each other.

However, I had to cheer up Takumi later as he was quite sad to see his "gym buddy" as Rei would say it, go train with someone else. I finally convinced him to play with his strengths and train Rei in the art of genjutsu.

Again that may have been a blessing(or a mistake because of course he was not monstrous enough) as that was the day when we realized that he possessed our clan Kekkei Genkai - Genjitsu no dōkeshi (Jester of Reality).

I may or may not have had a breakdown that day due to the fact that my son was cursed to be overtaken by his Ido in the near future. Definitely not as why should I even bother worrying about my force of nature who had already conveniently sealed up the beast in his mindscape.

How the hell he did that I don't even know but I did not even bother trying to ask him how as when he showed the validity of his seal I was just thankful for the fact that he was going to be okay.

At this point, I am pretty sure that my child may become the next Maradara or Hashirama because the world has never seen a stable user of the Dōkeshi. For now, though I am pretty sure he is the strongest 5 year old in the existence of the shinobi world. No matter what Mikoto says about her daughter Itachi, I firmly believe there is no being more monstrous than my child. I am sure that she is in for a shock when the academy rankings pull up next year.

For now, though I just need to make sure he does not end up dead experimenting with chakra as last time he almost blew himself up when he tried to perform what he called a perfect full-body chakra reinforcement.

Have kids they said, it would help you mellow out of shinobi life they said. Well, they should have clearly mentioned the possibility of giving birth to a chakra beast in human form as a possible side effect. Honestly I rather go do some S rank missions since that would be more calming than watching Rei break all sorts of common sense when he goes tinkering around with chakra.

Though I must say I am glad that he is like that because of his shinobi shenanigans while aneurism-inducing has brightened up both Takumi and my life. I just hope our next child won't be as "prodigious" as Rei as both of us feel that one Rei is already too much for our poor world.
