As the members of Akatsuki gathered in the center tower of the Rain Village, a clone of Kurogiri swiftly flew towards the tower, activating permeation to slip through the roof and land in the middle of the meeting.
All eyes in the room immediately fixated on Kurogiri, with Nagato intensely staring at him using his Rinnegan, attempting to unravel the secrets behind this mysterious being.
Black Zetsu, now near the creature, sensed a resemblance to his mother but also noticed subtle differences, realizing that the creature wasn't as formidable as he had initially thought.
Madara, his one exposed eye narrowing, was more focused on the technique used by the creature to infiltrate the building through the roof, noting the similarity to his own abilities. Hiruko, intrigued by the creature's abilities wanted to use the chimera technique on it, by doing so he will fuse the creatures body to his own gaining all it's abilities and traits.
Orochimaru, feeling a cold sweat running down his back, sensed that this creature was stronger than him, even after his transformation into a snake sage, and felt its piercing rainbow-hued eyes fixated on him.
As for the rest of the Akatsuki members, they observed the creature with curiosity, recalling the chaos it had caused a few years ago, while also noticing the complete change in its equipment. However, before anyone could utter a word, Kurogiri took the chance to speak.
"Pardon the intrusion, but I have business with Orochimaru and was wondering if I could borrow him from you for a while," Kurogiri stated calmly and without any fluctuations in his tone, as if making a simple request.
The Akatsuki were taken aback by the audacity of this creature. They may not have been particularly close to one another, but being renowned rogue ninja, they didn't take kindly to being talked down to.
Nagato, furious at the creature's unyielding attitude, raised his hand and unleashed one of his Rinnegan techniques, "Universal Pull," exerting a gravitational force upon Kurogiri in an attempt to draw him closer. However, to the surprise of Nagato and the other Akatsuki members, the creature remained unaffected, simply staring back at Nagato, causing his technique to cease.
"Impossible!" Nagato exclaimed, finding himself in an unprecedented situation where his ability had been halted without his intervention. Observing the creature with its rainbow-hued eyes, Nagato deduced that there must be a connection between its gaze and his technique's sudden halt. It appeared that the creature possessed unique eye abilities that could counteract his own.
Meanwhile, Kurogiri, disinterested in dealing with the Akatsuki, utilized his powerful Quirk, Titanic, combined with One For All at fifty percent maximum power. In a flash, he closed the distance between himself and Orochimaru, touching him and activating his compress ability.
Before Orochimaru could react, he found himself trapped within a blue sphere, surrounded by grey fingers. Realizing that he'd been ensnared by the creature, Orochimaru desperately attempted to reverse summon himself back to Ryuchi Cave. However, to his dismay, he couldn't establish a connection, as the compress ability was enhanced by One For All allowing it to isolate the space within the blue sphere.
All the Akatsuki members could witness a dark black lightning emanating from the creature's body as Orochimaru vanished, leaving only a tiny blue ball in its hand, which was noticed by Nagato, Madara, and Ranmaru due to their special Doujutsu.
Having successfully obtained Orochimaru, Kurogiri turned his attention to the remaining Akatsuki members, taking note of the three individuals with unique eyes. Before addressing them, he made a point to correct them, stating, "Thank you for your understanding. My name is Kurogiri, not a creature. It would be in your best interest to remember that."
Activating his Black Quirk, he slipped into the shadows, utilizing his newfound Black to Shadow Travel to merge with his main body's shadow. As the Akatsuki watched Kurogiri depart, Nagato and Madara felt frustration mounting, as they had recently reached their goal of assembling a full team of ten members. Black Zetsu, however, remained unperturbed, as long as the creature didn't continue to disrupt their plans.
In Konoha, during a high-level meeting, Inoichi, the head of the Yamanaka clan known for his mind techniques and sensory capabilities, suddenly felt a powerful chakra signature rapidly approaching the village. Inoichi, sweating profusely, recognized the chakra signature as the same one he had sensed earlier during a surge. Shikaku Nara, sitting next to him and aware of the close relationship between their clans, noticed Inoichi's pale complexion and shot him a concerned look, trying to ascertain what was happening.
However, before Shikaku had the chance to speak, Inoichi blurted out during the meeting, "Lord Hokage, the chakra signature we felt from the Land of Shigaraki is heading towards the village as we speak." With his understanding of the chakra's speed, Inoichi knew it wouldn't be long before it arrived. The Third Hokage was taken aback by this revelation but knowing Inoichi to be one of the village's most skilled sensors, he quickly believed the report and dismissed the meeting.
The Third Hokage swiftly left the room, with the other occupants following closely behind as they hurried towards the main gate of the village. As they reached the gate, they noticed a figure in the distance, soaring through the sky towards the village. The sight of a flying technique shocked most of the ninja present, as such abilities were incredibly rare in the ninja world. However, as the figure came closer and became more visible, it became clear that this was no ordinary ninja.
The Kurogiri clone, utilizing its ethereal eyes, soared towards Konoha and witnessed the gathering of powerful chakra signatures at the village gate. As it approached the group and recognized the Third Hokage leading them, a smirk formed on its face.
"Aww, Hokage, it's been a while since we last saw each other," Kurogiri taunted, taking note of the Third Hokage's confusion in not recognizing the creature's altered appearance but sensing the immense power it now possessed. The Third Hokage furrowed his brow in response to Kurogiri's presence.
"Kurogiri?" the Third Hokage questioned, still unsure of the creature's identity but aware of its formidable aura.
"Haha, yes, it's me. Don't think this is your student. As if I would give up my body for a snake," Kurogiri laughed, paying little mind to the glares cast upon it by the ninja surrounding them, fully aware of their ineffectiveness.
"What do you want, Kurogiri? Konoha does not welcome you, and you should know exactly why," the Third Hokage stated firmly, his voice filled with resolve.
However, Kurogiri, paying no attention to the Third Hokage's words, used its ethereal eyes to survey the village, searching for the Uzumaki it had been informed about by Rin. Identifying their location, Kurogiri looked back at the Hokage, disdain evident in its expression.
"I've come to save the abused Uzumaki. The Uzumaki clan will be revived under my protection," Kurogiri declared, activating its tempest quirk. In an instant, it soared into the village with blinding speed, disappearing from the sight of the ninja. Its swift departure created a sonic boom that disrupted the nearby ninja, leaving them momentarily stunned in its wake.
Kurogiri found himself in a dilapidated section of the village, standing in front of a rundown apartment building where the young Naruto resided. Just as he was about to make a move, a large man with white hair, Jiraiya, emerged to confront him. Jiraiya had been staying in the village for the past few years, overseeing Naruto's training, and had sensed the presence of this mysterious creature nearby.
"What are you, and why are you here?" Jiraiya questioned, alert and ready for any action. However, Kurogiri's attention seemed to be fixated on the sleeping Naruto inside the apartment. Without hesitation, Jiraiya swiftly formed hand seals and spat out a stream of oil towards Kurogiri, using his "Toad Oil Bullet" technique. But to his astonishment, Kurogiri activated his permeation ability, slipping through the ground and entering Naruto's room.
Jiraiya, perplexed and unsure of where the creature might resurface, rushed to Naruto's room. However, it was too late. When he opened the door, there was no sign of Naruto. Frustration consumed Jiraiya as he felt like he had failed his student by losing his own son. Before he could sink further into self-pity, the Third Hokage arrived at the scene.
Observing Jiraiya's troubled expression and the vacant room without the presence of the blond-haired boy, the Third Hokage quickly realized that Naruto had been taken, leaving Konoha without a Jinchuriki. Understanding the potential consequences, the Third Hokage decided to cover up this news, aware that if the other major villages discovered Konoha's vulnerability, they would likely launch an attack. Unbeknownst to him, the other villages were facing the same predicament, as each of them had also been visited by a Kurogiri clone around the same time.
The clone of Kurogiri, filled with shame and indignation, swiftly approached the village's Jinchuriki, who was being treated as a monster despite being a mere child. Utilizing his compress ability, the clone captured the Jinchuriki, carrying them away from the mistreatment.
With determined purpose, the clone flew towards the Kazekage's office, seamlessly phasing through the walls and startling everyone present. The Kazekage and the elders were taken aback by the appearance of the grey flying creature in their midst. Though they were on guard, the clone paid little attention to their defensive postures, recognizing the Kazekage as the Jinchuriki father based on their features.
"I had hoped for a civilized conversation, but given how you treat your own son, I have decided to take him with me. Considering his mistreatment, you shouldn't care," declared Kurogiri's clone, initiating his shadow travel ability and slipping away into the shadows to reunite with the main body.
The Kazekage and elders were shocked by the creature's unconventional methods and the harsh truth it spoke. They swiftly dispatched ninja teams throughout the village to search for Gaara, the One-Tail Jinchuriki. However, to their terror, Gaara could not be found anywhere within the village.
Following this unsettling event, the Sand Village leaders placed the village on high alert, striving to keep the news hidden while simultaneously reaching out to Konoha for information on this unknown creature.
Unbeknownst to the Sand Village, other villages were experiencing similar encounters at the same moment, adding to the sense of unease and uncertainty spreading throughout the ninja world.
In the Cloud Village, as the Raikage sat in his office with his trusted advisors—B, Darui, Mabui, and C—they were discussing the earlier chakra surge when C turned his gaze towards the window, spotting a concern look on his face before turning back to the Raikage.
The office fell silent as C's attention remained fixed outside. The Raikage and the others quietly waited for him to share his findings. C spoke, relaying what he had sensed: "Lord Raikage, a chakra signature matching the earlier surge is approaching the village at high speed from the air."
The Raikage was about to ask for more details when a black blur suddenly burst into the office, launching a rapid series of attacks, employing kenjutsu and taijutsu enhanced with lightning.
Upon entering the office, Kurogiri quickly noted the swift response and the barrage of attacks aimed at him. However, with his permeation ability active, he effortlessly allowed the attacks to pass through him, while simultaneously initiating a conversation with the people in the room.
"I know it was rude of me to barge in like this, but really, the first instinct is to attack with intent to kill? You don't even want to know why I'm here," Kurogiri retorted, displaying a hint of attitude towards the quick resort to violence displayed by the individuals in this world.
Still filled with anger, the Raikage attempted another lightning-enhanced taijutsu attack. However, this time, Kurogiri intercepted the attack with a single hand, neutralizing the lightning using his Volt Dynamo quirk. In addition, he activated his Chakra Resonator quirk to drain the Raikage's chakra.
Sensing the shifting wind, Kurogiri swiftly activated his hardening ability and Shielded Scales, fortifying himself against a barrage of swords that collided with his body. Astonishingly, the attacks caused no harm to Kurogiri, who then released his grip on the Raikage.
"Alright, how about we all just talk? He isn't dead; I drained his lightning and chakra to prevent this pointless fight from escalating," Kurogiri declared, speaking to the weary Raikage, as well as the agitated B, Darui, and C.
"I'll start by introducing myself. My name is Kurogiri. I've come for any Uzumaki here, and I will be taking any mistreated Jinchuriki," proclaimed the Kurogiri clone, utilizing his ethereal vision to survey the village and identify the presence of another Jinchuriki. When the Raikage, B, Darui, and C heard the creature reveal its name and purpose regarding the Uzumaki, they remained cautious. However, upon hearing that a Jinchuriki was being targeted, their guard went up, particularly for B, who bore the responsibility of being a Jinchuriki.
"Ya fool, ya fool, what you say ain't cool. You say you're gonna take me, but then you have to make me cause I ain't leaving my bro," rapped Killer B, challenging the creature. Kurogiri was momentarily taken aback by the rapping ninja but quickly dismissed it, clarifying, "Clearly, you aren't a mistreated Jinchuriki. I'm referring to the girl who is left alone and viewed with hate."
As Kurogiri activated his black quirk and slipped into a shadow, making his way towards the targeted Jinchuriki, Raikage A, Killer B, Darui, C, and Mabui all sensed something was amiss and hurried to Yugito Nii's apartment. However, by the time they arrived, the apartment was empty, and C could no longer detect Yugito Nii's presence within the village.
The Raikage seethed with anger at having been outmaneuvered, losing his Jinchuriki right under his nose. Determined to take action, the Raikage returned to the office and gathered the others, resolved to keep this encounter a secret and reach out to the other villages for assistance.
Meanwhile, in the Earth Village, the Tsuchikage was in a meeting with the elders when a sensor ninja informed him that the chakra surge signature was approaching the village swiftly via the air. Startled by this revelation, the Tsuchikage, being the only known flying ninja apart from his master, realized that no one else should possess the ability to fly after the fall of the Land of Sky.
The Tsuchikage, realizing the imminent danger approaching the village, quickly rose from his chair and interrogated the sensor ninja about the direction of the threat. After obtaining the necessary information, he swiftly utilized the Lightened Boulder jutsu to soar out of the window and face the oncoming danger. As he ascended into the sky, he spotted a dark figure swiftly approaching the village. However, before he could fully discern its appearance, the Kurogiri clone had already materialized in front of him.
"I see the Tsuchikage felt the need to meet me in the sky. I was already on my way to your office," remarked Kurogiri, a smirk evident on his face. The Tsuchikage, taken aback by the humanoid creature with grey skin, black and white hair, and rainbow hued eyes, was shocked as he had never encountered such a being before.
"Given the powerful chakra signature approaching my village, I couldn't take the risk of confronting you within its boundaries. Now, state your purpose, creature," the Tsuchikage demanded with a no-nonsense tone.
"Well, Tsuchikage, I am here for any Uzumakis you may have and any mistreated Jinchuriki, as I plan to bring them under my protection," Kurogiri responded, amused by Tsuchikage's attitude.
The Tsuchikage, unfazed by the mention of Uzumakis as there were none in his village, became increasingly cautious upon hearing about the Jinchuriki being targeted.
"Creature, how we treat our Jinchuriki is none of your concern, and you will come to realize that the Earth Village will not stand by and let you do as you please," the Tsuchikage declared as he began gathering chakra in his hands, shaping it into a white cube.
"Oh, so now you're resorting to threats. But you'll find that nothing of that sort will work," Kurogiri retorted, activating his ethereal vision while fixating his gaze upon the Tsuchikage. In an instant, not only did the white cube in the Tsuchikage's hands vanish, but all of the Tsuchikage's jutsu failed in Kurogiri's sight, causing him to plummet from the sky.
Observing the village from above, Kurogiri discovered that the Jinchuriki in the Mist Village consisted of an older man in his thirties and a young man in his late teens. Noting the mistreatment the young man received from the villagers, Kurogiri swiftly materialized using his compress ability and vanished using black to shadow travel.
The Tsuchikage, having regained his composure once Kurogiri's gaze was no longer upon him, managed to halt his descent. However, he cursed under his breath upon realizing that the creature had disappeared.
Hastily returning to his office, the Tsuchikage ordered his ninjas to search the village. Soon enough, they discovered that Han, the Jinchuriki of the Five-Tails, was nowhere to be found. Fuming with anger, the Tsuchikage promptly ordered the suppression of this dire news and prepared to contact the other Kage for information gathering.
Meanwhile, the last of the Kurogiri clones arrived in the Mist Village. However, the response to its presence was lackluster compared to the other four villages. The Mizukage merely looked up at Kurogiri without displaying any strong reaction.
Kurogiri, sensing that something was amiss with the Mizukage, activated his ethereal vision. Through his ability, he could perceive the distorted state of the Mizukage's mind, leading him to suspect the presence of a genjutsu.
After using ethereal vision, Kurogiri witnessed the clarity returning to the Mizukage's eyes and the relief that accompanied it. Understanding that the genjutsu had been lifted, Kurogiri was able to confirm his suspicions.
"Creature, I do not know who or what you are, but I must thank you for freeing my mind from the genjutsu," said the Mizukage, bowing his head in gratitude for being released from the manipulative illusion.
"I sensed that something was wrong, and that's why I activated my ethereal vision. I'm relieved that I was able to help you," Kurogiri replied, acknowledging the Mizukage's gratitude.
Curious to uncover the source of the genjutsu, Kurogiri inquired, "Can you recall anything about the person who placed you under the genjutsu, perhaps their appearance or any clues that might give us insight into their identity?"
The Mizukage's expression hardened, remembering the torment he had endured. "All I can recall is that it was someone in a black cloak and an orange mask, bearing a Sharingan," he recounted, his voice tinged with anger and guilt.
Kurogiri, recalling encountering a figure resembling that description in the Land of Rain, nodded in understanding. "I have encountered someone fitting that description before. They were part of an organization I encountered in the Land of Rain," he shared, indicating the connection he had made.
As the information sank in, the Mizukage turned to Kurogiri, eager to determine if the genjutsu's effects were permanent and how to proceed from there. Kurogiri, sensing the Mizukage's intentions, reassured him that the chakra manipulation in his mind had been erased, exemplifying this by deactivating his ethereal quirk and returning to his true form.
"Alright, Mizukage. I can see that you have been under control for far too long. I will leave your village for now, but I will return. However, if you require my assistance before then, you can find me in the Land of Whirlpools," Kurogiri stated, vanishing into the shadows using his black quirk. He was determined to provide the Mizukage with the time needed to address the situation and rectify the problems that had arisen.
With his visits to all the villages, saving people from hate and offering them a chance for a better life in the Land of Whirlpools, Kurogiri aimed to foster an environment of care and understanding unlike ever before. Unknown to him, Madara became aware of the Mizukage's newfound freedom, sensing that something significant had transpired, though he lacked the time to personally investigate the matter at the time but will later investigate it.
As news of Kurogiri's actions begin to spread throughout the ninja world, shockwaves will ripple through the hearts of all who heard. The revelation of Kurogiri's interventions would undoubtedly instill fear in the collective consciousness, leaving a lasting impact on the Five Great Villages and thus the ninja world.
