Jon and his three friends looked at one another with a chuckle.
"Oh, come on. You don't have to pretend with us. We're your friends, right?" Jon leaned closer, his voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. "Or maybe you're just... scared?"
Maxim stopped walking and turned to face Jon directly. "What's your problem, Jon? Why do you care so much about when I shift?"
Maxim crossed his arms as he started to get pissed. He wanted to end their conversation fast so he could return home and enjoy his remaining days with his parents instead of giving Jon his time.
Jon's grin widened. "Oh, I don't care. But the pack does. They're all wondering what's wrong with the Chieftain's son. Why he hasn't become a real wolf yet."
"Oh, I heard he's not even the Chieftain's real son!" Max exclaimed loudly with sarcasm.
"Yeah, a fake pup!" Sol added, thinking it would help insult Maxim more.
Creation is hard, cheer me up!
