We spent the rest of the night cleaning up the living room. When Maureen had landed on the coffee table, it had sent splinters all over the place! It's well into the morning before we're finally done.
Maureen bends over to pick up the last shard of wood. "So was Mr. Mysterious okay with me breaking his expensive crap?" Maureen's fascination with how expensive the furniture is quickly faded after she heard more about the trip Cam's on right now.
I roll my eyes and shrug my shoulders. "He's okay, more worried about how it got broken than anything. He says he'll buy a new one." I grab the second trash bag full of wooden shrapnel and drag it by the front door.
Maureen whistles. "Damn, he's got some big money, huh?" After putting her bag by the door as well, she returns to the living room and flops on the couch. "Must make you feel like the Annie to his Daddy Warbucks." She chuckles at her own joke.
