Chương 36: Getting in the Habit

As I walk Maureen into the house, she's staring around with her jaw practically touching the floor. I laugh to myself. Is this what I looked like when I first came here? How did Cam not burst out laughing at me?

Shaking my head, I grab Maureen's arm and pull her into the living room. "Sit," I offer.

She looks down at the couch, which is a plush, overstuffed brand-name design. She looks up at me with horror in her eyes. "How could I sit on this? This cost's more than the mortgage for the shop!"

I smile and plop down on the couch myself, then put my feet up on the cushions. "That's all the more reason you should sit on it. I think as long as I don't intentionally destroy anything, Cam won't care what I do here."

Maureen still looks uncertain, but she eventually sits, carefully at first. Once she's perched on the cushions, her eyes go wide and she sinks into the couch. "Oh my gods, this is the most comfortable thing in the world."
