94% My Savage (Childish) Husband / Chapter 47: Everything Will Be Fine

Chương 47: Everything Will Be Fine

Min Yoongi POV,

I bit my fingernails as I stared at the lamp above the operating room door. Sofia had been in that room for almost an hour. Beside me, Grandma Han has been crying since we came from the cemetery.

I turned my face towards her and grabbed her shaking hand. What we have just witnessed indeed made us shocked. Honestly, I don't remember what happened after seeing Sofia get hurt. Everything seemed to be happening so fast and so vague.

I just remember that I ran as fast as I could to Sofia, took off my shirt, and pressed her bleeding wound. I don't even know which of us called the police and ambulance.

"Grandma...", I mumbled when I saw the operating room lamp turn off and a doctor dressed in blue came out of the doors

We immediately stood up and walked over to the doctor who was walking towards us.

"How was the operation, doctor?", asked grandma Han holding back her tears

"The operation went well and the bleeding has stopped. But the wound was deep enough to hit her small intestine. So we had to cut the injured organ 5 cm long. And now we just have to wait for her to gain consciousness and recover," said the doctor

"Thank God...", my grandmother and I said at the same time

"We will transfer her to the inpatient room and wait for her to wake up", said the doctor while smiling at us

"Thank you, Doctor," said Grandma, bowing to him

"Kamsahamnida", I said when the Doctor nodded his head and walked away from us

I carried Grandma Han back into the chair.

"Thank God Sofia survived... aigoo, I still can't believe this. How could Chunhee do this?...", she said weakly

"It seems that the death of Mina and his wife has left a very deep wound for him. And he felt that everything that has happened to his family is your family's fault...", I said quietly

"Oh my God ... he is our best friend. He is the only person I trust .... ...", she sobbed in my arms

I didn't say anything, I just gently patted her back to calm her down.

I can't forget the hatred that radiated from Uncle Lee's eyes when he looked at Sofia. Even now I still shudder when I think about it. I admit he is very good at hiding his feelings all this time in front of us.

I was completely flabbergasted when I realized that the person who passed me at the Hospital was him. Why am I so slow to realize it when the evidence is right under my nose?.

And honestly, I just felt relieved after hearing the doctor's words earlier. Now I realize that I loved her so much that I was so afraid of losing her. Seeing her unconscious and covered in blood made me helpless.

"Sorry madam, the police want to talk to you and also Min Yoongi ssi", said grandma's secretary came over to us

Grandma Han released from my embrace, wiped her tears and nodded slowly. Since we arrived at the hospital the police have not asked us any questions.

"Please take care of Sofia's treatment room while we meet the police. By the way, has Wonjae ssi arrived?", she asked her secretary

"Ye, he just arrived and was talking to the police in the Hospital Lobby", replied the short-haired woman

"Arasso. Yoongi~aah, kajja", said Grandma

Then we walked side by side to the lobby where the police and her lawyer were waiting. The interrogation took quite a while because the police asked about the incident in detail.

I recounted what I saw and experienced. And told them about Uncle Lee's involvement in the accident that happened 13 years ago.

"Accident case in Daegu? Yes... Lee Chunhee ssi has confessed to all his actions, including poisoning Han Soojin's wife", replied the policeman

"Huh? Jinjja??", I mumbled surprised to hear what the policeman just said

I turned my gaze to the Hospital entrance and thought. I remembered the words Sofia said when I found her at the cemetery earlier. She burst into tears and told me that Uncle Lee had killed her parents.

"Gosh...", I mumbled while rubbing my face tiredly

A few meters in front of me, I saw Grandma Han crying again. In front of her, the policeman who was interrogating her was discussing something with her lawyer with a serious face. I think she also just knew the shocking confession from uncle Lee.

"So he has confessed everything he did? ... he killed them? Oh my gosh ...", I said weakly leaning back against the back of the chair

"Yes. He has confessed everything and signed the statement. But we will still ask Sofia's testimony when she gets better", said the police officer seriously

Then the policeman asked a few more questions before finally ending the interrogation with a question, "If the court asks you to testify to your statement, will you do it?".

"Uh, can I discuss it with my lawyer first? Because ... because I think I will be busy with my work", I stammered

"Arasso. I'm just making sure. If you are needed to be a witness, I think the prosecutor handling this case will contact you", he replied with a small smile

After the police officers left, Grandma and I sat side by side to listen to what lawyer Kang has to say about the case.

"Lee Chunhee's case is very complex. Even though he has admitted his crime, the police will not immediately punish him. They will still carry out an investigation. I will ask the Daegu Prosecutor to pass the Han Soojin accident case to the Busan City Prosecutor. I think the accident case 13 years ago will be reopened and re-investigated based on Lee's statement, Sofia's testimony, and also yours ...", he said while looking at me

"Then what about Jennifer's death? I also want Lee to take responsibility for his actions", said grandma in a trembling voice

"Ye. I'll make sure of that. Although according to the police it will be difficult to prove it because of the lack of evidence", answered lawyer Kang with a sigh

"Wonjae ssi, I want to meet the prosecutor who handles this case. I want to make sure Lee gets the punishments," said grandma in a deep voice

"I'll try it madam...", replied lawyer Kang slowly

"What kind of punishment will he receive?", I asked curiously

"For first-degree murder (intentional or murder one person with malice aforethought) then he can be sentenced to a minimum of 20 years in prison. I think we can increase it to a life sentence because he has planned the murder of 3 members of the Han family", replied lawyer Kang while looking at me seriously

"Why not the capital punishment (death penalty) ??", asked grandma, her voice filled with emotion

"Madam, the capital punishment has not been reinforced by South Korean law since twenty years ago...", answered Kang's lawyer patiently before continuing, "But I will make sure that the prosecutor demands the severe sentence on Lee".

"Am I ... I, can I see Lee?", she asked quietly to lawyer Kang

"Halmoeni, are you sure?", I asked looking at her

She paused and looked at us in turn.

"Yes. I ... I want to directly ask the reason why he did this to my family ... I, I want to hear the answer directly ...", she said holding back tears

"Madam, I don't think it's the right time ...", said lawyer Kang sympathetically

"But I have to ... I have to know, I have to meet him, ask him why he had to do this ...", she said, sobbing

"No madam, I'm sorry, I can't take you to see him. Not now...", he replied

"I want to see him! I have to talk to him now!!", cried grandma emotionally

"Madam, please calm down...", said lawyer Kang worriedly seeing her lose control of herself

"Halmoeni, I think lawyer Kang is right. Right now is not the right time. You must calm down first, I don't want you to get sick because of this", I said trying to calm her down

"No! I have to know the reason! He has lived with us for decades! He saw with his own eyes how Soojin grew up. My husband and I believed in him, I couldn't do anything without his help... and why? Why he killed my son and his wife?! I want to know!!", she burst into tears

Lawyer Kang and I tried to calm her down. I saw people around us turned their heads at us curiously.

"Halmoeni, calm down ... Halmoeni, please", I said hugging her trembling body

Then I felt her body slump slowly in my arms and her cries weakened.

"Oh my God", said lawyer Kang as he ran to the information desk for help

"Grandma... hold on...", I said panicked while holding her unconscious body in my arms

I saw several nurses running towards us. I immediately carried Grandma Han's limp body and ran towards the Emergency Room.

I gripped my hair tightly as the doctor and nurse checked her condition.

"Gwaenchana ... calm down. I think she will soon be conscious, she is just tired and overwhelmed. This is very hard for her ... The saddest thing about betrayal is that it never comes from your enemy, but from the person you trusted the most", he said full of sympathy

"You have to be strong", he continued while patting my shoulder

Yes, it is sad to be betrayed like this. We never know what's in someone's heart. People you think of as friends can turn into enemies in no time.

I kept thinking about it as I walked through the hallway of the treatment room. I kept walking without paying attention to the circumstances around me, my mind and body were very tired, my energy and emotions are drained.

Without realizing it I was standing in front of Sofia's room. I straightened myself and took a deep breath before slowly opening the door.

"Yeobo...", she called in a weak voice when she saw my arrival

"Sobi, you're awake! Thank goodness ...", I said in a choked voice and walked quickly to the side of her bed

"Ye... where's grandma?", she asked slowly

"Your grandmother is resting... she is very sad and shaken. Lawyer Kang and her secretary are accompanying her now", I replied

"How are you, Sobi?", I asked quietly, almost like a whisper

"A little dizzy...", she answered slowly

"Get some rest...", I said while tucking her hair behind her ear

"Yeobo ... I thought I would never see you again ...", she whispered with teary eyes

"Sobi...", I muttered caressing her cheek

"I thought I was going to die...", she continued sobbing

"Sshhh... you're fine now, Sofia. I'm sorry... I'm sorry I couldn't protect you...", I said in a trembling voice holding back my emotions

She just shook her head and looked at me with teary eyes.

"Mianhae ... jinjja mianhae ...", I said over and over while hugging her

Usually, I am a person who is good at hiding my feelings. Even my six members said that I am an emotionless person. But right now, I feel like my mask is broken, seeing the woman I love lying helpless like this makes my heart ache.

"Sobi, mianhae...", I muttered while sobbing into her shoulder

"Sshhh ... gwaenchana yeobo ... as you said, everything will be fine from now on .... Gwaenchana ...", she sobbed while caressing my head gently

I spent the rest of my days staying by Sofia's side. Feeding her food, helping her take medicine, bathing her, accompanying her to sleep, and even reading her a book or just accompanying her to talk about the little things that happen around us. I did everything to help her recover quickly.

The next day, Grandma Han's condition improved, and she finally went to see Uncle Lee at the police station. That afternoon she returned to the hospital with puffy eyes and a hoarse voice. She told us about her meeting with Lee.

"I mean, how can he hide what he's been doing all this time? He's a psychopath!", said grandma angrily

"I said that I would never forgive him even in my next life. I will never forgive him ...", she said with a red face while wiping her tears

On the third day after the incident occurred, several police officers came to see Sofia ask for information from her. Even though she looked troubled, Sofia can recount the incident quite well in detail.

And the next day my parents came to Busan to help me look after Sofia because tomorrow was the last day of my holiday and I was going back to Seoul.

I will continue our tour as well as other activities. Honestly, I was worried that I would be leaving Sofia for a while. Moreover, she will be a witness in Uncle Lee's trial case in the coming weeks.

Sofia of course repeatedly said that she would be fine. And yes, her surgical wound has gradually improved, she can even walk on her own now.

"Yeobo, I'll be fine. Trust me… your parents and my grandma are here with me. So don't worry too much. You have to focus on your work, okay?", she said on my last night

"Jinjja?", I mumbled while stroking his back

"Ye... you have to do your best, ARMY miss you. I will also do my best in the trial", she said

Her warm breath tickled my neck. I turned my head and looked at her intently.

"I'll miss you", She said looking into my eyes with her sparkling eyes

"Nado", I murmured with a warm smile

I kissed her gently, it felt like it had been a long time since we last spent our intimate time together. So that when our lips finally met, the tingles of happiness filled me like rain that finally wets a desert.

We spent our nights making out on a cramped hospital bed. I do it very gently, like treating a precious porcelain doll, too afraid of hurting her, even though Sofia kept telling me that she was fine.

It was past midnight when finally both of us were exhausted and ready for bed. I hugged her from behind, like any other night. Sofia turned her head to me while whispered, "Saranghae", and closed her eyes.

I smiled in the dark and whispered the same words in her ear, even though I was sure she was asleep and couldn't hear me...
