Chương 19: Live with me

Lin Ran said her words hurriedly in a single breath but Wu Jinyan already heard enough to learn that her manager mistook Little Bunny's identity.

To clean the misunderstanding, Wu Jinyan immediately explained "Sister Lin, Little Bunny is my neighbor's kid. His mother's at work, she'll be back soon and his father..his father..."

"My dad's on a business trip" Little Bunny filled the blank before taking a sip of orange juice.

"Yes..his father is on a business trip" Wu Jinyan repeated the same line with a 'So, I'm kind of looking after him' look on her face.

Wu Jinyan's explanation and acting was plausible but Lin Ran couldn't erase the arising suspicions in her mind. Her job as a manager gave her a few extra abilities to dig deep regarding every issue of her artists.

"So, you are looking after a neighbor's kid. Do I look like a fool to you? Wu Jinyan, see if I let you stay in the company for one more day"

Wu Jinyan rolled her eyes hearing the warning. She knew Lin Ran would never hesitate to suppress an artist under her if she found them worthless or disobedient or troublesome to manage.

"Sister Lin, in what way this kid looks like me? He's really not my child." Wu Jinyan pulled Little Bunny's face closer to her. Except for her skin being soft and supple just like the child's, there's nothing common between them.

"His features must be from his father" Lin Ran supported her inner doubts instantly.

"Sister Lin, he's really my neighbor's son" Wu Jinyan could only repeat the same lines again to prove her innocence.

"Wu Jinyan. It's alright to have some black spots. You don't have to hide anything from me. I'll try to cover them as much as possible. Which actress didn't have such secrets? Just tell me who's the child's father?!"

Lin Ran had seen several similar scenes of her artists who stubbornly denied their flaws and mistakes. She could only persuade Wu Jinyan with a little smooth talk to make her spill the beans before the matter escalates and goes out of her hands.

"I also want to have pretty aunty Wu as my mother but sadly I already have a mother who's not her. And thank you for your concern" Little Bunny suddenly said with a sarcastic smile to shut Lin Ran from speaking again and to clear unnecessary misconceptions about Wu Jinyan.

Lin Ran gazed at the kid with a cold expression. She found him totally annoying. This kid's attitude was too boorish for her to contain her emotions in control.

Who's son is this guy? He's this naughty at such young age. Must be a devil's son.

She decided to not come to Wu Jinyan's house ever again if she had to come across this sassy kid.

Wu Jinyan almost laughed involuntarily. She really wanted to give a round of applause to Little Bunny for his guts to speak against Lin Ran. This kid's really smart. But she should still cool down her manager's raging heart.

Trying to pacify her great manager, Wu Jinyan bowed her head and said softly like a meek cat "Sister Lin, he's just a kid. Don't mind his words. I'll apologize in his stead"

"Whatever, you don't hang around this little devil. Come out quickly, I'll wait for you downstairs" Lin Ran glared at the kid gritting her teeth before leaving the house.

As soon as Lin Ran went out, Little Bunny's eyes staring at Wu Jinyan became dull as he said "Aunt Jinyan, if staying here becomes a problem to you, you can go back anytime. I won't stop you again"

All that Little Bunny wanted was just a bit of company as he was alone by himself. But if once he felt he was troubling someone, he would immediately back down from pressuring them to accompany him.

Wu Jinyan indeed felt troublesome to look after someone else's child but after thinking about it again, she realized she was also an orphan child who lived in someone's house for almost two decades. She cared for the kid in her leisure time as he was lonely just like her but now she foubd it difficult just because she got herself a husband.

No matter what, Gu Zichen was still a grown man who could look after himself unlike Little Bunny who needs assistance in every simple matter. Moreover, he was such a cute, smart and considerate child, she couldn't leave him alone.

"There's no problem..I can stay here with Little Bunny" Wu Jinyan smiled patting the child's head but as her thoughts drifted towards certain person, she started to feel uncomfortable in her heart.

He was her lawfully wedded husband but she behaved harshly disregarding his feelings just over a simple matter.

She also did not understand where did that silly side of her who would always look at him with infatuated eyes escaped to. She could only blame her inability to control her emotions. Her attempts to manage her feelings had always been volatile, whom else could she blame if not herself?

She grabbed her phone and dailed his number with the least hope. She expected he would be angered and not pick but the call connected immediately.

Wu Jinyan was relieved and with full of enthusiasm as she opened her mouth to speak but his cold voice from the other side almost made her to drop her mobile.

"What?"

'So he was really not bothered about me' Wu Jinyan's mood dropped.

She was no longer angry with him but on hearing his single word reply she felt infuriated and raised her voice while speaking out her heart "I'm not going back and will be staying only in my own apartment from now on. If you still want us both to stay under the same roof, then you come and live with me..Hmph"

She said all she wanted to and was about to move the mobile away when she heard his voice again "Is that all because of Little Bunny?!"

"So what if it's because of little bunny?"

On the other side, Chen Fei clicked his tongue on seeing his boss's raged face. He thought his boss changed after getting married, but he's still the same ice cold, inconsiderate man.

"So, you want me to live in your apartment? Alright. See you soon" Gu Zichen spoke and smirked in delight as he moved the mobile away from his ears.
