Chương 16: Bully

"Your brother really had a woman?" Shen Xiuzhen asked with curious eyes. She could only patiently wait for an answer. Asking her second son was much better than directly contacting her elder son who wouldn't even bother to hear her question in the first place.

Gu Zihao stared at his parents with a bitter smile. He knew his sister in-law was that little rookie artist from Star Entertainment, Wu Jinyan. But how could he tell his parents that his brother married a woman only for his selfish reasons and would divorce her the moment he felt like throwing her out.

How could he tell his parents that their daughter in law was an innocent woman who was stuck inside a devious trap laid by their beloved son?

Gu Zihao fell in a daze thinking about Wu Jinyan's future.

"Zihao...You know him better than anyone. Just tell mom, who is that girl? Everyone is saying she's really an ugly woman and looks extremely scary" Shen Xiuzhen couldn't tolerate the suspense and shook Zihao's arm vigorously. She was eager to meet her daughter in law.

She was too worried after receiving several phone calls asking about her daughter in law's details. She could only urge Gu Zihao to spill everything.

"Aiyaa...This son of mine is really something. He rejected that Zhao family's girl and quarrelled with me for setting him blind dates. If he said the truth that he already secretly got married to someone, I would have never contacted the Zhao family in the first place. Moreover, this fellow got into an accident and almost lost his life. What would have happened...." Gu Cheng ranted from the side holding his head. He never expected his son would be this bothersome.

Gu Zihao was vexed up with his parents' overwhelming behaviour. He lost his patience hearing the words they said with their half knowledge.

"Enough both of you. She's not an ugly woman and brother got married only two days ago. And it's the woman who donated her blood to brother...Wu Jinyan" Gu Zihao revealed.

Since they finally received the answer for what they wanted to know, Shen Xiuzhen and Gu Cheng smiled at each other before looking at their second son with bright smiles. They were worried about the girl when she was sick, they didn't even send her off and she left their home herself. But now, she became their daughter in law. They never expected such coincidence.

Gu Zihao received strict instructions not to let any outsider know of Wu Jinyan's identity as his wife, so he had to warn his parents too.

"Alright...we understand. You need not worry" They said and nodded their heads in unison as if they both had the same thought in their minds.

'This brat finally found someone' Gu Cheng thought grinning eye to eye.

'Thank goodness, someone finally succeeded in stealing his heart' Shen Xiuzhen was partying internally.

Their elder son really fell in love at first sight and got married right away just as they expected.

Heavens finally blessed them.

They both left Gu Zihao alone as they had lots of stuff to prepare. They should meet their daughter in law as soon as possible.

On the other side, Gu Zihao closed his eyes and bit his lower lip to suppress his urge to strangle his big brother. He wished to find someone so that he could display all the anger pented up in him. He was frustrated to death as he couldn't fight against his own brother.

Gu Zihao thought his brother had good intentions when he volunteered to save Wu Jinyan from a bastard. He saw him personally carry her when she lost her consciousness. He was the stupid to think Gu Zichen changed for good and showed concern over her genuinely when he never cared for a woman other than Li Xiaoyi.

But he didn't expect his brother was plotting a bigger scheme since the beginning. He should have paid more attention at least when Gu Zichen asked him about Wu Jinyan's martial status.

He knew Gu Zichen better than anyone. A man as cold and heartless as him, someone who stayed miles away from women.

He promptly guessed that Li Xiaoyi's betrayal was the main reason for his brother to play with an innocent woman, but he couldn't blame Li Xiaoyi for his brother's stupid actions.

Gu Zihao regretted his silly decision of involving his brother in rescuing Wu Jinyan. He should have just let his men take care of it.

Now it was all done and he couldn't change anything now. He couldn't fight with his brother or say the truth to Wu Jinyan and break her heart.

It was all his fault for not paying attention to what his brother was doing. He blamed himself for partying around when his brother was ruining an innocent woman's life.

He believed Gu Zichen would always maintain the image of a perfect man like he always did. But with the way how Gu Zichen was using Wu Jinyan, he was really disappointed.

Gu Zihao called and pressured his brother to spill everything only after getting wave after wave of calls and questions from the people around him. Only then did he understood his sister in law was Wu Jinyan. What angered him more was his brother warning him to not let anyone hurt his wife. Who was the biggest bully here?

If the woman Gu Zichen chose to play was some ambitious woman who eyed on their family's wealth or someone who wanted power and status, he would never bother about what his brother did.

Of all the girls in the world, Gu Zichen married that one pitiful woman who was the most purest both in her mind and heart.

Gu Zihao was done contemplating. He picked his mobile and made a few calls to make some important arrangements.

Wu Jinyan hailed a taxi and went to her apartment instead of Gu Zichen's villa. She was still angry because of that so called Best Employee of Gu Corporation, she was afraid she would lose the last ounce of rationality she had in her head.

More than that, Li Xiaoyi's behaviour towards her was more concerning. She had a fair portion of doubts in her head but couldn't get answers for now.

She could only do something efficient to calm her heart. She picked a rag, cleaned and dusted all the dirt in her apartment and sweated for hours to tidy her place. She was so tired after turning her soiled sty into a clean, spotless house.

The sky was turning dark but she didn't want to return to the villa as her manager would anyway pick her up from the same place the next day.

She sent a single text to Gu Zichen saying "I want to be alone. I'll be back home in a few days"

She then took a shower and snuggled on her bed to have a good night sleep.
