Chương 1: This is going to be a long week

The alarm went off and I jerked up on my bed, I banged it with my fist. But The alarm kept ringing and I let that sound wake me up a bit more and make me forget the most stupidest dream I have ever had, never in my entire lifetime I have had a romantic dream, but this seemed a bit real; more like a memory!

After around 5 minutes I shut the alarm and went to the bathroom. Approx 45 minutes later I was done getting ready, I went to the kitchen and made myself the usual breakfast- protein milk and sandwich.

Today the freshers were coming in and as 'the 3rd year elite' of our university I had to make a speech and guide them around the campus and give anyone who asks for one, a suitable mentor by the end of the week.

'This is gonna be so boring and exhausting'

After I was done I got my jacket and helmet, pulled on my boots and gloves, rushed down to my bike and speed off to the university.

I was one hour early today cause I had to make sure all the arrangements were perfect, I hate it when something goes wrong out of nowhere.

By 9:20ish all the freshers had came into the auditorium and I started my speech; An introduction to university's policies, its people, the staff and the festivities blah blah bullcrap....

It was 11:30 and I was done with the campus tour, taking in names of students and their requests for mentor seniors or professor.

'Ahhh! Just give me a break already!'. By far my schedule was pretty much going as planned. I used to like fast paced stuff, when there is running here and there. A little bit of managing and a lot of organisation.

I put on my earphones and started walking out of the campus towards parking, as I urgently had to attend a party at my office where I worked part time, as today was the promotions day and A certain part timer was getting promoted from receptionist to 'guidein for new clients' nothing really changes just better privilages and no useless work.

'This just keeps getting worst and worst, all I wanted was a pay raise and I got an promotion for some shitty post do the same thing in college and then the same in the offic...

I bumped into someone and my momentum just pushed me off balance, "shit!!" I knew I will be having a great fall now! But the person I bumped into grabbed my arm held me right in place and pulled me up quickly 'I swear I had seen god in the moment!'.

I looked at who the person was, Dark Green eyes, messed up caramel brown hair and tanned complexion, I felt like I had seen him somewhere 'I wonder where!?' He had some branded clothes on and was about 6'3" probably. It was a site worth watching.

Both of us looked at each other as if remembering something but then he finally asked first, "Do you know where I can find Aphie"

'Aphie! Me! What does he want with me!'

I didn't had time for any information extraction right now so I answered straightaway, "I am Aphie, what business do you have with me? Just make it fast cause I need to be somewhere"

He looked at me for a second then instantly flashing a fake smile said, "I need a guidebook of the university and a mentor, only male professor"

'So he missed the orientation! great more job for me' I started walking signaling him to walk with me and said, "Okay walk a little fast and listen carefully cause I wont repeat it again. There are three buildings in this campus and in the engineering department sits the dean's assistant in the 2nd building, go to her and you'll get a brief guide and a mentor. If Still in doubt contact Mr. Swan, also what is your name and the specifics that you need the mentor for?"

I looked at him for answer but he said nothing.

Suddenly He stopped in his path, " So I will take left here for deans office. Thanks"

And he went off!.

'Whats with his attitude! Is he deaf or a straight Idiot! Well his loss I won't go behind him now, I have better things to do'

We was done with the office party by 3, I am currently the rookie 'guidein for new clients' in bizz fashion with double pay raise plus profit bonus per month. I used to make 200$ per week now that's 400+profit bonus, 'This type of benefits are not what I thought I would be getting! And now I feel all of it was totally worth it'

I went to the managers office to get all the details on my new job and they seemed pretty much the same as what I would do as a receptionist just not on the phone and less babysitting office workers. I was given the day off so I went to the campus again to talk with the dean about my project when I had the chance, or else the whole thing will have to be pushed on tomorrow.

I went to the Dean's office at around 5 when all The faculty were signing off.

"Aphie!" Dean beamed up in her chair "I am so grateful and so proud of you for your job today! my elites never disappoint me"

She hugged me briefly, then I took a seat in front of her, "Thank you dean shagen, but right now I come in with other purpose. About the proj..."

before I could finish she cut me with her statement, "Listen Aphie I know how you probably want to discuss mentors right away and your project work, etc; but take a break dear. Tomorrow is a start of new tenure and you will have a lot on your plate, lets talk about that okay? as your mentor I cant see you falling out of place with all the responsibilities When you can be shining"

'shining? On the Inside I would be dying!' Her concern were genuine but right now I was pretty prepared for what's to come tomorrow ,"I appreciate your concern dean I just..."

Just then the door clicked open, what is this today! all my sentences are cut in half before I could say anything.

It was the guy I bumped into the morning. He came in ignoring me and started talking with dean in his same careless tone, "I want that mentor off me not my type! just give me a guide for brief period of time from the elites or something"

Dean looked at me and I was still clueless as I didn't concern myself with what was going on not about this douchebag, Dean replied to him after some thought, "Listen dear, we can't give senior guides to PG students so senior guide is only available for first years in UG. Also unfortunately only 8 people in this campus are well acquainted with all the aspects being in elites and none of them are open for guide positions"

He sighed and continued to plead but this time all the coldness from his face evaporating a sudden charm on his face with those green eyes going all black like a cute little cat , "Pretty please, I need a guide for just 1 week I don't want to end up blank and quitting somewhere at the beginning of it all! I wish to stand up to the competition"

Okay I'll have to admit that was a worth watch, I turned to the dean, I didn't understand what was going on but I knew what the look on deans face meant. 'I was going to be a scapegoat again!'

Dean looked at me and said, "One week should be fine for you right Aphie?" She said it with a warm smile but all I saw was danger Written on her face "after all Aphie, everyone from the elite program have started their projects except you! so you wouldn't mind I guess". The taunt was very clear!

'I was to be a guide when I could be preparing for my project, my trial, my conference and focusing on my job! like didn't I had enough on my plate already!!' I looked at the boy and he smiled at me with a smile that I still knew was fake, "Hello Aphie! I'm chris" he extended his hand and I formally took it.

He looked like the snake that took out its skin from time to time except he just kept pulling it on and off. And I don't want to be associated to any trouble especially when it had to be concerned with myself.

'This is going to be a long week and I already have a bad feeling about it'
