Chương 18: Emily
Leo brought the girls over under the pensive gaze of all the others present, but he didn't seem to care. He wore an indifferent look on his face even when all eyes were on him. Leo's gaze shifted to Charlie who was looking at him as if he was the descendant of the god of luck or maybe charm.
The reason Charlie got well with Leo in the past was that Leo was average just like him, and didn't like to stand out. He was the perfect friend who he found and did not get pulled into the chaotic relationship within the Florida Branch of the Whites Associate Law firm. But things seemed to be taking a different turn nowadays.
"What are you looking at? Hurry up and introduce yourself." Leo said in a dull tone while returning to his seat.
"Yes, Charlie Brown!" Charlie stood up to shake the ladies, and they all shook him one after the other before taking a seat.
The table became the center of attraction. Even from the seat of honor, Stephan Wall watched with furious eyes. He had never hosted a party in this branch and had not been the center of attention, even when he wasn't supposed to. This could be a scene from the fact that he sat at the seat of honor, but the two characters who were supposed to be at the center of the event sat elsewhere.

Stephan gritted his teeth.

Amongst all six girls, Leo pulled over, she was the most outstanding, but he didn't seem to notice because she was seated somewhere her assets were well hidden.

The other ladies introduced themselves, but none got his attention like Emily. She sat across the table with her eyes fixated on Leo.

A familiar voice rang from a distance causing Leo to frown. He looked over only to see Stephan Wall walking towards him with a friendly smile on his face but hidden behind the smile was a hostile look only Leo could see.
"To thank you for your contribution to this case, the firm has decided to give you a week off. I was told you did all the work alone, so you should go back and rest up." Stephan said with a smile on his face but the faces of everyone in the room turned cold as they gazed at him.
"How can there be a party without the chief celebrant?" Charlie was confused by Stephan's request, but Leo wasn't.
A man blinded by jealousy is bound to be impatient. He was expecting this sooner or later.
"It's okay. I'm pretty tired already." Leo yawned and slowly got to his feet and the ladies looked at him with sad eyes.
They had finally gotten the chance to get close to this hot colleague, but it was about to get ruined by this man.
"I'll come with you. Maybe you can show me your place and we can have a nice chat." Emily said as she slowly rose to her feet.
"Sure." Leo responded with a charming smile.
Meanwhile, all the remaining five girls gazed at him sheepishly hoping they would be invited. Unlike Emily, they weren't so bold as to offer themselves up to a man they were talking to for the first time.
Leo glanced at the girls and stopped at Sarah. A brown-haired lady dressed in a red gown. She was a beauty but compared to Emily she was average at best.

"I'm bringing her along. I hope you don't mind?" Leo's eyes let out a bright red light while he spoke to Emily.
His request was crazy, bold, and wild, causing the entire room to fall into silence as they waited for Emily's response.
"Sure. The more, the merrier." Emily said with a sweet smile, causing people to scream in shock.
