Chương 1: Chapter 1 - Igneel, the Fire Dragon King

This is a remake-ish of that fic with different premise and story.

This fic will have some plot holes but I don't care. I'm here to have fun.

==========

No one is born equal in this world. This is fate particularly in this society where a certain event shook the whole world by storm. It all began in the place of China where the first occurrence of superpower was discovered that gave way to the new era of heroes.

In this day and age, 80% of the general population had been gifted by this extraordinary ability that people called "Quirks". Those people acquired fame, money, and glory while the unfortunate 20% receive nothing but ridicule.

This is experienced by one young boy whose childhood dream was to be a hero like a person he admired the most. It was the number one hero and the symbol of peace, all might.

He smiled even in the face of danger giving hope to those watching. He's a man whose power was unmatched that made Villian rise after the heroes had cowered in fear by his name alone.

The young boy named Izuku Midoriya the moment his fate had been sealed where he would be nothing more than a quirkless child cried his heart out. His childhood dream had been squashed before he had the chance to get them.

In the end, for the rest of his life, it had been hell where every time he got home would always have bruises and his mother, Inko Midoriya, unable to do anything.

However, fate has another thing coming as a lingering soul finds itself looking through the eyes of the young boy finding it rather unpleasant.

"Why does everyone have to gain a quirk while I don't? It's so unfair!" The young boy's voice echoed through his dreamscape, filled with frustration and bitterness. He shouted into the void, convinced that his cries of anger and despair would go unheard.

"A quirk, eh? Sounds like something similar to magic," a booming voice resonated through the dreamscape, filled with a mix of curiosity and amusement.

"How is it similar to magi..." He suddenly stopped mid-sentence, a chill running down his spine as he realized he wasn't alone. His eyes darted around the room, searching for the presence that had interrupted his thoughts.

"W-Who said that?" he stuttered, his voice trembling as he shuddered to his core. He had never expected that someone would respond, and the sudden intrusion left him feeling exposed and vulnerable.

"I did." Suddenly, flames erupted, engulfing the entire area and sending a wave of fear crashing over Izuku. His heart pounded as he sensed a presence behind him. Trembling, he turned around, and his eyes widened to their limits at the sight before him.

It was a gigantic Dragon whose bodily majority is covered with dark, red scales. Dragon's lower body, specifically his stomach, the inner portions of his long tail, and legs, are beige in color. Igneel also has noticeable scars on his stomach and neck, with the largest one, which is X-shaped, located around the center of his body. His back has numerous black spikes, reaching down from the back to the end of his tail.

The dragon has a triangular head with horns, a pair of large, round eyes with yellow sclera which are seen as glowing, obscuring his dark, round pupils and a sharp horn pointing upwards just above his nose.

He also sports very sharp canine teeth, and has claws with long, sharp, red nails. Igneel's large bony wings resemble a bat's, with rippled tips. Additionally, Igneel has four limbs having upright bipedal stature.

"Dr-dr-dr-dr-..." Izuku stuttered, his voice barely above a whisper.

"Yes, I am a dragon," the creature responded, its deep voice reverberating through the air. Izuku's expression transformed from terror to awe in an instant.

"Awesome! Even though this is a dream, it's still so cool!" he exclaimed, his fear momentarily forgotten. The dragon couldn't help but sweatdrop at the boy's sudden shift in attitude.

"As much as I would like to keep talking, it's time for you to wake up. But before you do, I need you to listen carefully." The dragon's tone became serious, and Izuku, though confused, nodded and paid close attention.

"When you wake up, go to your mother. Both of you sit down, hold hands, and close your eyes. It will all make sense when you do it."

Before Izuku could ask any questions, a blinding light enveloped him, and he woke with a jolt, the dragon's words still echoing in his mind.

At the moment, Izuku's mom, Inko Midoriya, was busy preparing breakfast for her and Izuku. She still remembered what she said to him a few nights ago.

"I'm sorry, Izuku. I wish things were different."

'Why did I say that?' she thought to herself.

'That wasn't what he wanted to hear.' She was just about to go wake up her son when he burst into the room.

"Mommy, Mommy!" he shouted.

"Come quick!" Her maternal instincts kicked in, and she rushed to her son's side to see what was wrong.

"What is it, Izuku?" she asked, her voice filled with worry.

"Just follow me." The two of them went to the couch, and Izuku told his mom what to do. She was confused but went along with it anyway. For a moment, nothing happened.

"Izuku, what is going—" She stopped when she opened her eyes. There was nothing but pitch black surrounding her and Izuku. Before she could ask, Izuku called out.

"Okay, we're both here."

She opened her mouth to ask what was going on when suddenly, a massive swirl of flames spiraled around them. When the flames died down, their surroundings had changed. They were now standing in a volcanic wasteland with lava and volcanoes everywhere they looked. The extreme heat was palpable on their skin.

Inko clutched Izuku's hand tightly, her eyes wide with shock and confusion.

"Izuku, what is this place?" she whispered, her voice trembling. Before Izuku could respond, a familiar booming voice echoed around them.

"This is what you call a dreamscape," the dragon's voice announced, as it emerged from the flames, its massive form towering over them.

Inko turned around and came face to face with the same dragon that Izuku had encountered. Before she could scream, the dragon stopped her.

"There is no need to panic. I'm not here to harm you or your hatchling."

"Hatchling?" Inko asked, before realizing he was referring to her son.

"So you're not going to harm us?"

"Don't worry, I'm not that kind of dragon. I was simply resting in the afterlife when I suddenly saw a bright light. Next thing I know, I'm in this boy's body."

To say Inko was surprised would have been an understatement.

"How is that even possible?"

"Maybe it has something to do with Dad?" Izuku suggested drawing confused looks from both Inko and the dragon. Then it hit Inko.

"Your father's Quirk—the ability to breathe fire."

"Like a dragon," the lizard said, seeing as it somehow made sense.

"How interesting." Inko turned her attention back to the dragon.

"Who are you?"The dragon stood up tall and proudly before speaking.

"I am Igneel, the King of the Fire Dragons." The mother-son duo were stunned.

'A dragon king?' they thought simultaneously. Igneel decided to ask them a question of his own.

"So tell me, what is a Quirk exactly?"

Inko then went on to explain how 80% of the world's population had some uncanny abilities called Quirks, which gave them superpowers. Some went on to be heroes, while others became villains. She explained how Izuku was one of the 20% who never got a Quirk, even though both of his parents had one. Igneel listened intently, his fiery eyes gleaming with curiosity.

"How fascinating. It is similar to our world where the majority are gifted with magic and rarely anyone wouldn't be able to use them. Though, non-magic users are not discriminated against like quirkless that you call them."

"Yes," Inko nodded.

"My baby boy is one of the few who was born without it crushing his dream of becoming a hero." Izuku looked down, feeling a mix of emotions as his mother spoke. Igneel noticed this and lowered his massive head to be level with the boy.

"Do not be disheartened, young one. The absence of a Quirk does not diminish your worth. If anything, it makes you unique in this world. And now, with my presence within you, you may find that you may gain abilities unlike any other." Izuku's eyes widened with hope.

"You mean... I could have powers like a dragon?" Igneel nodded solemnly.

"Before that let me tell you about my world to better understand what I said when I heard about quirks." Igneel began to give a brief summary of his world, surprising the mother and son pair with the latter's eyes widening in excitement.

Izuku's eyes sparkled with excitement as he asked.

"Wow, would it be possible for me to learn magic?" Inko was about to answer, saying it was impossible, but Igneel spoke first.

"Yes. I've sensed that there's an abundance of ethernano within your world that hasn't been used." Inko couldn't help but feel astonished once again.

"How is that possible? Are you confident it will be fine?" she asked.

"I am not." Igneel plainly answered, considering he doesn't know the precaution of what would happen if the boy learned magic.

"That is why the decision is yours," Igneel answered, his wise gaze fixed on Inko. While Inko contemplated the decision, she couldn't shake the weight of responsibility that came with it. The thought of endangering her son weighed heavily on her mind.

However, the possibility of Izuku gaining the power to fulfill his dream was something that wouldn't come along often. After a moment of silence, Inko looked up, determination shining in her eyes.

"I trust you, Igneel-san. I trust that you will guide Izuku safely on this path." Igneel nodded in understanding.

"I will do everything in my power to ensure his safety and help him unlock his full potential." Inko nodded and Izuku finally was able to join in.

"What kind of magic will you teach me?" He asked and Igneel chuckled at the enthusiasm of the boy, reminding of his son.

"Then I will teach you a brand of magic meant for taking down dragons. It's called Dragon Slayer magic." Izuku's heart raced with anticipation, and Inko was simply astounded by the turn of events.

"There is one side effect though," Igneel added. They listened closely.

"Motion sickness. Meaning that even a simple wagon will make him want to vomit." Inko made a mental note to visit the doctor to get medicine for that.

"Is there anything else?" she asked him.

"Yes, by being a fire dragon slayer, he will gain the same abilities of an actual dragon. That includes immunity to fire, the ability to eat fire to power up and attack with, as well as enhanced senses of smell, hearing, eyesight, speed, strength, reflexes, durability, and endurance. Finally, he will be able to engulf himself in fire without being harmed. So, I would recommend some fireproof clothes."

"When can I start?" Izuku asked with impatience. Igneel simply smirked.

"Whenever you're ready." And with those words, the journey of Izuku Midoriya, the world's very first Fire Dragon Slayer, officially began.
