I looked down at the sheets, "I don't know." I told him, "I-" I shook my head, "This all is too confusing."

"What is it?" He asked calmly.

"..." I pursed my lips as I looked up at him, "I-" My heart beat started accelerating as I felt vulnerable, "I'm scared." I felt tears well up in my eyes, "I don't know what to do." I gulped, "This all wasn't supposed to happen to me!" I sniffled but didn't cry.

He sighed and sat down on the bed, "Is there something specific you're afraid of?"

"Many things." I said, "And when I think about it I get more scared."

He looked at me softly, "Then why did you come here?"

I looked down in shame, "Because I'm a coward." I didn't have the heart to say that it was because I was in pain and only came running here to get rid of it.

I covered myself with the blanket as I felt guilty while Calix took his time to think about things.

There was some awkward silence between us as he gathered his thoughts and then looked at me, "Perhaps it's because you don't realize it so I will say this directly. " I looked at him, "Rave between us, we can't leave our relationship undefined."

"Huh?"

"I'm an Alpha." He said, "A lot older than you and I've been waiting for my fated pair for a long time." His eyes were fixed on me, "But I feel like you're still rejecting me." When he said those words I felt my chest tighten. The way he looked at me made me feel funny, "I want some clear lines drawn."

"..."

"Leaving things as they are will hurt both of us." He placed his hand on my cheek and that made me flinch, "So let me ask you again. This is just to clear things up." He spoke very maturely.

"Yes?" I felt calmer for some reason.

"Are you willing to come to me? And let us become a proper pair?"

I kept my gaze on him but I had no idea what to say to him, "No one will approve of us." I told him.

I guess that's the thing that bothers me the most.

"Forget everyone else." He said a little aggressively and my heart skipped a beat, "Leave everything out and tell me about you." There were butterflies in my stomach, "I will be there for you if you choose me. All your worries, we can solve them together." His eyes glowed as he looked straight into my eyes and I felt a little giddy, "So just between us, the fate chose us as a pair so, Will you be my mate?"

My heart was pounding at this point.

Just between us?

Do I want him? If there is no one else but just me and him?

My heart beat went crazy and my cheeks flushed when I thought about that.
